  • ho first those are some GREAT dancers. I have a question though, :) what do you think a dancer should weigh (kilos) with the height of 169 cm?

  • @littlesheep11 I would say, between 45 and 55 kilo´s, it highly depends on your muscle quantity and bone structure. i think your BMI (body mass index) shouldn't go below 15 points.. that would be unhealthy

  • @Estertje93 yeah that´s what I think is good for ballett. If your beneath that you might not have enough strength to train! Those girls look healthy and skinny so I think that´s a great mixture! thanks ;)

  • I've never seen anyone really show 'passion' when doing barre work. I mean, come on. It's barre work. It's like telling a piano player to show passion when playing a scale. Ridiculous.

  • I just sat staring at the screen with my mouth open. They make me seem like a horrible dancer. They are amazing! Well time to go practice now.

  • I want to be like them! they are so amazing

  • the one on the right is probably my teacher...

  • hermosas...!!!

  • theyre perfect

  • this is beautiful!

  • Hey that is me! The 2 one.

  • @iloveballet98 Thank you so much! I will definitely try this

  • that must take so much strength!!!!! I can get my leg that high in heel stretch, but not when I'm doing a develope! My teacher yells at me for that..... Once she had us hold our leg up as high as we could to the side (we develope'd into it), then went to each of us, gently pushed our leg as high as it would go, and told us we should be able to hold it there. She got my leg up to my shoulder, but when she let go, my leg dropped to just about hip height.Does anyone know of anything that can help?

  • @Alicia01201998 Okay, when you are stretching, dont just hold your leg in your hand every once in a while, without even taking your hand off your foot, make your legs hold the position. And at the end, hold it for like 5 or 10 seconds (without hands). Hope this helps!

  • @Alicia01201998 You probably have some weakness in pelvic girdle area & need to work on strengthening abdomen, adductor & abductor muscles. If you have access to a gym with an ad/ab piece, build up the reps with LOW weights ONLY. (it should be done sitting down). Ads & abs are on the innner & outer thigh & the gym machine is one of the VERY FEW shortcuts female ballet dancers should use! Do not build up the quads or you will look like an Olympic sprinter, not a sylph! Do sit-ups slowly. LOL

  • not fair...

  • man their turnout is to a DIE FOR!!!

  • my leg can't even go higer then my hip! but i'll get there eventually :(

  • HOLY SHIT! ......im just gonna go die now -.-

  • beautiful legs

  • Perfect technique!!

  • People say that they're expressionless when the're dancing. But this seems more like a form of practice and their concentration is on their form. They have two teachers yelling commands at them. Until you actually see a dance sequence, I'm not really sure you can judge their passion for the art. They've obviously practiced very hard.

The lighting and the distance of the camera makes it hard to really tell what the dancers even look like.

  • STUNNING :P

  • WOW!!!! Their turnouts are so good!

  • control.

    i have none.

    D:

  • lol the Chinese language is soo funny XD

But seriously these girls are goooooood......

  • all i got to say is amazing hip strength!!

  • OMG!

  • Everyone is talking about them not having passion... ITS BARRE WORK! I LOVE dance and I put as much passion as I can into each performace but when I am doing barre work I focus on my position. I think they are AMAZING!

  • Can anyone please tell me how to get a perfect arabesque like this?????

    I'm serious! TELL ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • @ElsieMolenaarLover try the exercices in the video,

    :D

  • OMG! It's great! OMG!!! They certainly put in lots of effort to reach such atandards! I think 'foundation' hav to be established to perform well. I means it helps a lot in terms of techniques, etc. Gosh! They're great!

  • Techniques are one thing, Elegance is another.

but it's natural that each country has its own method of ballet.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, they have what people may consider "perfect" technique, but they are like robots. You should dance because you love to, not necessarily because you can do it well or because you have the body for it. Where is the expression? And these girls are seriously underweight- you can see their hip bones!

  • crazyyy D= I wanna be able to do that haha!

  • Wow! Just amazing!! O_O

  • some classes teach a method that requires you to "perform" or turn your head a certain way during barre exercises. It trains them to perform.

  • this is too gorgeous. it brought tears to my eyes. i NEED to do this

  • youtube.com/watch?v=6EEyk-iohLw

  • They have the same face

  • ummmm AMAZINGGGG!!!!

  • beautiful and such hard work to get the legs to stretch sooo far...

  • thats the kind of flexibility im trying to get im working on i everyday but im having enough trouble just trying to do the splits

  • the teacher sounds so angry...

  • @ShingingGoldenHorn nah she is just saying to remember to do stuff

  • muy bueno te felicito por tus chicas...

  • Beautiful extensions. I hope to be as good someday!

  • they are really really strong and flexible

    WOWZERZ!!!

  • wooa! they're amazing! *O*

  • thes chinease are amazing they look about my age and they have the most amazing extentions!!! i'm striving to get that by the summer for my exam

  • amazing... thanks for the lead from the expert village site of ballet... this is ballet my loves.

  • Their simply amazing.

  • wow this is chinese,

the techer is reli strict she kept on reminding the girls what they need to be doing like pointing their toes proper

  • My legs feel like lead just from watching! I want that

  • no no no no no no no no no that is not alowed to be possible wtf!?

  • OMG is completly amazing!!

  • This is really what I need work on.. utterly amazing

  • this music is so beautiful! Does anyone know?

  • Glad to help out. This music captivated me years ago. It's from Franz Schubert's Four Impromptus, Op. 90 (not to be confused with Op 142.) You're hearing the middle section of the fourth impromptu.

  • @AnnaLRussell - well, when you're only doing barre work...it really doesn't call for any "passion". Barre work is basically just about just "exercising" the body on the basic techniques - keeping in "ballet shape", etc. Now, in a rehearsal for an actual performance - or in the performance itself - then yes, you do want to see some "passion" or artistic "life".

  • yes i agree, but i think every single little step in ballet or in any other art, if you love it, should be performed with so much passion! you can't wait to ad it at the last moment otherwise how do u know there is any at all if it is not there all the time?

  • I shall take it that you've never practised ballet?

  • @AnnaLRussell your so right, I am a dancer albeit a bellydancer (did ballet as a child) BUT passion should be part of your exercise, or you become to used to doing it cold and lifeless, and without feeling is like watching TV in black and white!! robotic and mechanical - no matter how much technic, it doesn't hold the audiences attention in the end....

  • @AnnaLRussell

You can't even see their faces.

  • @svetaswan thats absolutley true

  • @svetaswan true but you dance like you do your barre/warmup so if you do good at the barre it'll happen in the center.

  • @svetaswan i think that everything you dance, even barre work, should be danced with passion but these girls are not without it.

  • @svetaswan You should still perform your barre work just like you are on stage though.

  • @Premierepointe No you don't. The focus is technique, technique, technique until it is 2nd nature & then you can 'forget' technique (as Natalia Makarova used to tell us) to express yourself in class enchainments. Barre work & centre practice are when you grind out the work, concentrating on every little detail so that later on you appear to dance without effort! Whatever the activity (dance, sports etc) running before you can walk is never a good idea & is never advocated by professionals.

  • I think you'll find it's the other way round. A dancer has to perfect technique before letting emotion come through. Simple.

  • Then why dance? If it takes longer for some people than others to be as u say be- "perfect" and they will only be able to express their passion then, why waste your time sweating over it for so long if you cannot express ur passion from the very beginning? This is no love.

U've got to be kidding me! I dance. I am a dancer... I have practiced my whole life- it is who I am!

  • Wow, the dance instructor's voice is scaring me...!

Otherwise, these girls are amazing on the barre.

  • Absolutely amazing your technique and posture was excellent . Also your extensions were great you had control over your body and I can tell you are passionate about your dance by the way you expressed your movement through your body.Fabulous , keep up the good work !

  • That was incredible!

  • Chinese WIN. Everyone else, fail. xD This is amazing!

  • Absolutely beautiful. As a dancer I look for inspiration and this video gave it to me, so thank you so much ! Your technique is amazing you have so much control over your body .Great job!

  • they are awesome but you know the chinese are practicly the best in da world. They are so nice because they start young but they are so good i wanna be like that. I started ballet when i was 8 in third grade now im 12 in 7th grade

  • yeah. the chinese choose children from when they are 5 years old and train them. They are chosen based on how their parents look and how the structure of their body would probably be when they grow up so... yeah

  • haha the russians choose the same way.. xD but this is the same also for the french

  • They certainly look gorgeous, with amazing bodies (for ballet!), impossible extensions and impressive turnouts. However, I stay with my all time favorite the classics: russian, english, cuban and american ballet.

  • chinese own everyone

  • i wish my extension was that good =(

  • wow, :O they are so graceful

  • I started on pointe when I was going into seventh grade. now I'm going into ninth but why does it seem like other people start when their like nine?? Your supposed to start when your 13 right? lmao. cool videooo!

  • yeah i started when i was about 9....very early lol

  • no... I started to get in points when I was like ehmmm... 10 years old I think.. (:

  • not really.. its pretty comun to see 9-10 year olds on pointe, but of course, that means they've probably been dancing since they were 3 or 4...

  • It depends on many things, like how many years you've been dancing and what type of training have you had. It also depends on each girl's body and how strong has become. As a teacher, I wouldn't normally recommend to start at 9 unless you've had a very intensive training since you where 3 or 4.

  • Well I started when I was 11 but I was always taught in ballet school that you have to wait until you are strong enough to go on pointe. I know girls who did ballet for years but they never learned the technique well and couldn't handle pointe.

  • this is what i aim for :)

  • mmm basically they make us average well-balanced people (like myself) look like a total clutz. I love this XD jeez i have no idea how long it takes them to get that flexible

  • I lost my splits a week ago :( Im 10. I started pointe at 9 1/2. Im trying to get them back. They r flexible. xD

  • Comment removed

  • lol. i totally understand. It was recommended. I couldnt resist. But im doing fine. Im stronger now. But i do have some stuff to work on. xD

  • the teacher is counting whilst prompting the students as they go... but you can bet your ass that she's strict as fuck. the chinese are proud, over-achieving and perfectionists. and I'm not being racist (it's not necessarily a bad thing) cuz I'm chinese but it's fact. and we're proud of it ;)

  • She's counting, and telling them what to do. Not yelling. But yes, she does sound strict.

  • They dance beautifully, i wish i was as graceful and as thin!

  • wow!!!!!! have no comments....

  • awesome, the one on the left needs to lower her hip.

  • ther absolutly BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! ther CONTROL is sooooo strong i luv it!

  • OMG the teacher is so strict.....she kept yelling at the girls..it has to be absolutely perfect =0=

  • she does sound strict, but it doesn't sound like yelling to me. The other voice in the background is just counting. I'm not sure why, since i'm pretty sure the dancers can count for themselves.

  • DO YOU UNDERSTAND CHINESE?

  • very little. just hello, thank you, a few random words, and i can count to ten.

  • THEN U REALY SHOULDN'T BE TALKING

  • i never said that i understood everything. i said "sound like". that's very different.

btw... why are you shouting? is that really necessary?

  • but she is counting. "yi, ar" means "one, two" in chinese.

  • listen to the whole video, you'll notice she made some comments

  • somewhere in the video she said, "Zhong-jing faster!!!"

  • Oh, sorry. This is going to sound hypocritical, but I only speak like 5 words of chinese, so I'll take your word for it. I was talking about the quieter voice though.

  • how old are they?

  • Wonderful technique, and the control these girls have is fantastic. It takes years to develop that kind of discipline.

  • Wow!!! They are superb!!! Their teacher must have been strict. I wish I could dance like them!!!

  • OMG, I did the exact same thing in class the other day!!!

  • Incredible!

  • their extension is amazing. i wish i could dance like that. :D

  • omg. that is perfect control. i wish my recitals loked like that!!!!

  • how old the girls???

  • wow they are so good! they have amazing technique and extension.

  • All of your videos, the work is PERFECT! How do you get your legs so high? What stretches do you do?

  • they haven't expression.

I'm ballet dancer and I know that the more important thing is the expression. even when we are almost crying we have to smile...

    but the techniques are good

  • This is just barre work...

I'm pretty sure they're only working on technique

  • I think they are being punishes really badly, if they do something wrong...

though their technique is amazing, I have to say.

  • woow they have a perfect technique... I'm learning how to do that steps but I can't do it that good...

  • :S que controoll tienenn! que hermosoo bailann!! =D

  • that made my day oh my gosh ! that's so controlled !

  • perfecto!!!

  • Thank you PianoStudent 7!

  • kabuki is japanese

  • I know - I couldn't think of a better cultural diversion at the time lol... I should have said Lion or Dragon dance...

  • I understand what you are saying, but you don't have to be from a certain country to do a style of dance from that country.

  • Oh God, that's beautiful!

  • they're all insanely good but if I opened my ribs that way my teacher would kill me :P

    I guess it's a stylistic thing?

  • I don't see them opening their ribs.....

  • Does anybody knows whow's the composer of this music or how it's called? It's amazing.

  • So much strenght =|

    *jealous*

  • that isnt fair i what to be able to do that. you are so perfect. some of your music i use in my ballet class.

  • Do you use this particular music in your classe?I love it and I'd like to know the name of the composer.

  • The composer is Franz Schubert. The music is from the B-section of the fourth Impromptu (Op.90 No.4).

  • Wow. Beautiful..

  • Beautiful.

  • what are these particular techniques called?

  • They have wondriful legs and are really good. But i agree without expression it is pretty boring. not to mention their leotards aren't covering much of their bottom.

  • Their expression is called "serene." The cut of the leotard is s specific cut to enhance the line of the leg. Its not like they've got a wedgie or anything.

  • Ok thanx

  • they are all so amazing

  • Yao Wei is damn pretty here. She has very graceful long legs.

I think it is okay that they don't show any expression. It is an exercise, not really a piece of dance. I don't think there is any expression to show. It is an EXERCISE.

  • they r really good but they arnt doin anymovement tricks so it doesnt really help me. also there no facial expression so that makes it kind of boring

  • that's perfect , but... i see no expresion and that makes it boring !

  • there legs are beatiful and very long

  • I love these excercises in class... everytime we do them, I feel i'm getting better and better =]

  • Professionalism and Talent, starts all in the head.

  • how?

  • im so jealous.

  • im sooo jealous.... mayb if i work hard enough, i'll be half as good...

  • damn that is sooo good!!! its amazing!!

i wish i could do that

  • they are SOO GOOD AMAZING

their bodies didn't move a bit!!!

  • They're AMAZING!!!!! They must have practised loads!!!!! :D :D

  • amazing

  • amazing and such beautiful leg extensions. Really good turn out!!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • its unfair i have been doing ballet for over 11 years and my leg muscles look really strong but i still havnt got that much control when i do exercises like that i have to do them on my own on the barre because otherwise i kick people!! x

  • I totally understand so have i ,but i recently learnt that with moves like that PATIENCE is the key, in other words only practice them when you have lots of time to work with your legs NO RUSH,remember your legs are one of the biggest limbs of the body but soon you'll get it in no time. I speak from experience .Good luck

  • where is all that muscle hiding in those thin legs?!? lol...amazing control!

  • amazing:)

  • Comment removed

  • i don't like them, too Oo :D

  • i never understood this people that say "i hate them because they are so good"...

practice, darling, it's nobody's fault if you are not training enough. perfection takes dedication and lack of hate.

  • Comment removed

  • Dedication and discipline is great but be careful of overtraining you could take months to recover as the saying goes in the fitness feild the body only grows and develops at rest.Ballet is something you'll forever keep improving on so you have time,i admire your love for dance.

  • And they've been practicing for longer than you have. This time that you're sitting on the internet? They're likely spending it practicing.

  • wow bitch if im on the internet for like 10 minute u think im lazy? i practice all the time. dance is my life. i hate when ppl tell me im undedicated if i comment on a video saying im jealous of these girls. thats a compliment! im sorry if you guys take that personally. like i said dance is my life, its the only thing i have. dont take that away

  • You clearly aren't practicing, now are you?

Ballet may be your life. This school trains professionals, and not everyone is professional material. Some people are more dedicated than others, and some can merely aspire. There's nothing to be jealous about - they got that way through work that neither you or I can even fathom.

  • well practicing every moment of the day isnt that good for you either. you can't over work urself its not good for you. but i try hard every day and i dont think its right for you to be telling me i cant be professional if youve never seen me dance
