Personally, I think it's a very moving song and I like the Broadway musical interpretation. The bridge especially just drives me wild. Great song in both languages, and one of the best things about the show.
Like others have said, it sounds like a Broadway musical, but I think I like it because of that. It has a softer tone because of that. I just don't like the random inclusion of Japanese lyrics.

i like both versions, The JApanese verso9n is cool and even more so once you understand it, but this English version tugs on my heart in a different way. I 'm just very pleased that Akino decide to do an english version of the song.
If 'you' is preferring to me, I'd say I like the Japanese version better. For the exact same reason as you, as the matter of fact. Plus, I always seem to like the versions I watch first of something, including songs and movies, best. If that made sense.
@Emosopp hahaha it's not true (that) for me. i like endou masaaki's version bext, even though i heard akino's first. then again, i just like very upbeat stuff
Sorry for the fans but I didn't like this version... i liked sousei no aquarion (the japanese version) better
