i've have driven my dads car before, a manual Ford focus, and when you get the whole gear change thing in tune, it's quite easy. but still, driving at 35 MPH when 14 years old, is a bit difficult. and the road i drove on would make rallycars' suspention break. HATE POTHOLES.
I started learning manual when I was at his age to. I don't get why so many parents were posting these videos of they're 14 year olds driving their automatic cars. It's not that impressive, but I actually liked this video. Your kid is cute, only 8 and driving a manual pretty well! He's going to be a good driver when he grows up.
Wow, he is going to be a good driver in the future with that experience! Top marks, on getting a safe location to practice. In an emergency, this experience can serve for a very practical application, and possibly save the day. As long as parents instruct as calmly as you have, and in such safe and isolated areas as this!!
I was a little older than this when I drove for the first time, maybe ten or so. But, the first car I drove wasn't a car really, it was a lifted 1977 Dodge Power Wagon on 38" tires. Very tall and very cool, but also quite easy to drive on dirt, which is where I started (because I was very used to dirt after riding dirtbikes for three years or so, plus the lower speed). I'm not trying to show off or anything, I'm just saying it was a kick-ass experience for a ten-year-old!
damn i'm 21, been driving automatics since i was 11, but I never learned how to drive a stick smh, maybe i'll have this kid teach me in exhange for help with his homework lmao!!
My dad told him he knew how to drive when he was 7 years old, it wasnt automatic either it was stickshift. People use to freak out and say that the car is going on its own.
@jdeakin72 Youtube didn't make the comment section of videos to tell everyone about our thoughts of puppies and sunshine. They made it for people to express their thoughts about the video--positive OR negative

i remember begging my dad to let me drive when i was 12. i wish i remember what the car was, it was some turbo audi; no way he would let me go near the pedals, i just sat on his lap and did 5 kph circles. that was just was fun as any go-kart or my (slow-ass) power wheels.
its a good thing your teaching him young, because a lot of uptight Anerican parents think its dangerous, but when they end up getting a license at 16 they have minimal driving experience and end up getting into accidents! your a good father :)
this kid reminds me of me i learn the same way he did and i was eight i will teach my kids at the age i was taught great job kid keep up the good work

its not very dangerous alot of young kids know how to simple drive, its not dangerous where hes at,hes doing circles and simply turning theres nothing to hit.

Your analogy is as poor as your spelling. I can assume from your judgmental tone that you never did anything like this with your dad growing up. And look how well you turned out. No offense, dude, but its really hard to take you seriously when you can't put together a simple paragraph.
Had it just been this comment you made then fine, but the earlier comment you posted before this with all the profanity just punctuates my point.
@jdeakin72 my mother let me drive when i was 13 and it made me more responsible and it made me feel like she thought i was becoming more mature i never drove without asking her not even my friends cars this persons a idiot good work on being a father to your son
well yes it is illegal but figure this. He is going maybe 5 miles a hour on a huge empy parking lot. Nothing can happen there at that low speed and if he was heading for a post or something, the guy would have grabbed the wheel and corrected his mistake. Also its not like a cop is gonna come by on an empty parking lot to see if thats a kid or an adult practising. Dont be so overprotective.
@lplover108 okay you are blowing this WAY out of proportion...this isent gunna lead him to a life of drugs and alcahol...you are retarded. He is gunna need to learn to drive at some point, I learned to drive at 8, I never drove on public roads untill I got my lisence , Only once and it was a VERY remote area with no traffic. and guess what im probly ten times the driver you will ever be. why ?
@lplover108 cus I mucked around , learned to steer nd shift early , and learned to controll a car in the snow and all that, backroads and abandon parking lots. Im sorry your dad was too busy getting drunk or cheating on your mom to do cool stuff with you but dont take it out on others.
good job. my cousin has been driving since a young age too. he started when he was 6 in a manual and is getting better :)

Your analogy is as poor as your spelling. I can assume from your judgmental tone that you never did anything like this with your dad growing up. And look how well you turned out. No offense, dude, but its really hard to take you seriously when you can't put together a simple paragraph.
Had it just been this comment you made then fine, but the earlier comment you posted before this with all the profanity just punctuates my point.

well yes it is illegal but figure this.

@lplover108 cus I mucked around , learned to steer nd shift early , and learned to controll a car in the snow and all that, backroads and abandon parking lots. Im sorry your dad was too busy getting drunk or cheating on your mom to do cool stuff with you but dont take it out on others.
