No offence but watching this you were consistently turning in too early for corners. Which was making your driving reactive and jerky. You clearly have some good car control skill. If you could keep your bottle on turn in and turn in later, which would allow you to keep a constant line through the bends you would go a lot faster.
none taken....learning the car and the setup at the time. I went on to win both races (my first wins) on the support bill for the britcar500 in september 09. See are you ready video for clips on my profile. :)
Just watched that clip! You've got some balls driving those corners with a car that got hit on the start grid! We're hoping to enter the Britcar500 but as the car we're building wont be finished till late this year it'll be the 2011 race if we do:)
lol, thanks. To be honest I was so f*cked off at spa I didn't give it a second thought. I got a 1 minute stop go. All that happened was I didn't select 2nd cleanly. There is a youtube lap up again with the whole lap or maybe thats the one you saw. Completely flat through eau rouge and blanchimont which is 130mph. Whole thing cost me second in the championship.
@Devineeno1 i agree the turn in on most of the corners was a bit too early in my opinion. luckily the car has so much grip it didnt cost him too much. still well driven otherwise i think.
the problem you have between real track car drivers and porker drivers is that they see you in their rear veiw mirror and can't believe that a 20-30k car can be faster around a track overall than their 70-100k car(which is now worth about 40k).which basically means they feel more superior in their car and have the god given right to hold anyone and anything up and bollocks to everyone else
Great video, scary moment at 5:08! I was on the same track day in the 1st session and had exactly the same problems, M3's and Exige's that you catch in the corners but then they fly away on the straights, and I've only got 120bhp so no chance of catching them! I would love a superlight, maybe in a few years.
One question, where do you position your mic as it's a good sound you have? Do you cover it in foam or anything?
Video is vio pov and has mic built into lead from camera to unit. Just made sure that was in the boot thats all. Try covering your mic in sponge if its exposed. When mine was seperate just taped it to the side in the boot and it worked fine.
5.08. lol, I did that one on purpose to give him a fright, just launched it beyound the kerb, was actually a bit hairer than that inside the car, especially from my brother!
agreed, but when exactly did I state they were trying to race my suckmydick caterham? I said they (some of them anyway) were slow in the corners did I not?
ah, and so finally we've got there. Maybe, just maybe that car wasn't being driven to its limit..... I wish I'd thought of that.
Oh, and for reference round Silverstone GP which is a 2minute plus lap there is only a couple of seconds to a well peddled 997 GT3RS. That coming from a porsche racer.

ze way u said slow GT3's wasnt gud man

bah, bloody paint chips! No, they were well and truely quicker in a straight line, but you'd be worried if they weren't right!??

Nice video Paul, the camera on top of the cage gives a good view.
The GT3 might have been slow around the corners, but kicked your ass down the straights, or had you backed off to stop more paint peeling off? ;-)
