Playing basketball and shooting a gun are completely different from golf. Do you look at the outfield when you try to hit a baseball? No. Do you look at the ground when you spike a volleyball? No. Do you look at the other side of the court when you hit a tennis ball? No. Now what you are suggesting is great for judging speed during a practice stroke but when stroking a putt, looking forward at the hole will cause you to pull the ball much more severely. Also you would lift up slightly
