Wayne played with Relax With Max in the 80's @ the Royal Derby Hotel in Fitzroy his a good guy easy to talk to This is a killer track. The last gig I know of was Narooma about 3 years ago I hope they do another in Melb.
Any way check out my Band The Boogaloos & The Highway 41 Horns we will give you new memories.
This and Dancin' Shoes were my fave JJZ songs - saw Wayne B. play the former with the Fabulaires too - he is so underrated. I left Oz in 82, so it has been a long time....
Some of my fondest memories from my then young life were spent with the falcons. I wish you could find a live version of the cuthulu or even just post the audio clip. Next time i am back in OZ i must scrtch around for the firsttwo falcons albums. A certain ex wife put them out at a garage sale. I guess that's why she is an ex wife, eh. Wayne Burt, sadly, Australias most enderrecorded songwriter.
Thankyou NZOZ for finding this. Wayne Burt, sadly, Australias most underecorded songwriter. When ever i hear the term "The world greatest rock n roll band" in relation to a certain english act, and yes i like thenm and have seen them live many times over the years.
I remember somehow aquiring this record back in the early 80s, which was on a double A side with the song "security" and have long wondered just who this band where.
oh yeah, the 'Security' clip can be found on my nzoz1977 account. The revelation can be extended by viewing 'Shape I'm In' and 'Hit & Run' (their 'real' hits).
I don't believe this group every charted in the UK, though listening to some of their other songs I'm surprised at this as they sound similar to "Men at Work", who were very popular here for a time.
Jo Jo Zep, like most Aussie bands avoided the UK (knowing the under current prejudice towards convict rockers - though Jo was actually Maltese-born) and headed straight to the US. They nearly made it in the US with 'Hit & Run' and 'Shape I'm In' which got considerable airplay and the band did tour there on a few occassions. I believe they did a stadium concert with Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Journey, etc, and after being pelted at with cans that missed the band, Jo resonded with....
I'm not so sure there would have been much Australian predjudice in the UK. Kylie Minogue's nationality has never hindered her music career over here (which is a pity as I think her music is bloody awful). But anyways...
Kylie is pop and easy to sell. Jo Jo Zep's brother band The Sports had to endure having a koala on the cover of the UK issue of one of their releases done by Stiff records. Really, I know a few Aussies who worked in the UK recording industry at the time. Australia and music were not things that went well together according to many people...

don't worry, I'm 20, and THIS... THIS is REAL music. Not all youth like the filth that comes out of the radio these days.

@jimmy3284 I'm 20 too, I am ashamed of today's imported junk and Aussie semi-junk, but would have supported this wholeheartedly! This is way better!

Horrible lip synching but what a clasic look.

it's my horrible job at merging the CD track with the footage. Not that I didn't work hard at trying to make it look convincing.
