The Japanese voice acting is epic and superb, but I actually gotten used to the monotone English voices. To me, they're "bad" in a good way. xD

about the voice acting in english.

i love the voices, but i just hate the way they voice the game. for the most part i mean, ryo is supposed to be a brat who likes getting into trouble but he never ever showed any emotion whatsoever in the dub. still if the guy who voiced him was better at it, i would prefer him over his japanese counterpart. i never played shenmue1 in japanese only shenmue2 like most people, but i didn't remember ryo's voice being this pitchy and bad overall in shenmue2...

he is doing whatever it takes to find the man who killed his father,and since the guy who killed him is in the chinese mafia, there is a lot of troubling people to track down.

and he seems to have no emotion because his father just got fucking killed.

so he just ignores his emotions and continues on his mission.

A blow like that, would cause the diaphragm to forcefully push so much air into the lungs, they would explode. Even if a doctor was there, Ryo's father was beyond help. Er, he would be if he were real I mean. Moreover, Lan Di's top palm likely caused part of his sternum to collapse into his heart. Man, poor Ryo; his dad never had a chance of recovering from that blow. I'm surprised Ryo's father could even speak.... then again it IS a video game.

@stardingo747 also take into effect if Lan Di was using energy or "chi" with his attack. It'll magnify the blow by 10 fold. Iwao got pwned irregardless

I learned Japanese by this. Excruciatingly difficult, I can dream this dialogue. Amazing what those guys could od back then considering their limited means.

Considering the time it was built, this just might be the best game ever.
