All car makes have had faults. But VAG has never fucked up as big as Toyota, Ford, or GM. @NJ3ndri03 I could care less about some old ass gauges going out of wack like most vehicles experience but being a car enthusiast it's because of their powertrain options, handling, potential and fact that I can do work myself is what has made me come to appreciate all the badass shit VAG has produced. not just the beastly inline 5 and Quattro but the VR6, the 2.7L TT, the 1.8t, the 2.0t, the 4.2L V8 ... Everyone has their own perspective which is mostly based on experience or lack there of.
I've had many vehicles stall on me while driving, non of which were a VAG car. My 97 Cavalier, due to TCC Lock up fail. My 76 Blazer due to vapor lock on one occasion, on another it was due to Alternator/Regulator issues which is common on a lot of vehicles. My '92 S10 also died on me for different reasons, powertrain module, vehicle speed sensor, and from TCC lockup. 98 Ford Explorer due to so many faulty electrical problems. Acting like Nissans don't have issues is just arrogant and ridiculous
People buy Audis because they have high quality, are good looking and a smooth ride. Not because they can be tuned to over 1000 HP. Any car can be tuned over 1000 HP.

I just proved that you were wrong when you wrote that there is no Audi that can be tuned to 1000 HP without a Skyline engine. Neither did we discuss which engine was the best for tuning.
@leoapoelellas alot of them use the 5cylinder audi 2.2 or 2.3 engines although mostly rebuilt from the ground up with major tuning parts but ive seen this engine well over 1000 bhp, not really surprising when f1 teams were squeezing 1500 bhp from turbo 1.5 engines in 1986. skyline engine is a great engine to tune but most common in japan is the 2.0 found in 200sx and sylvia, we tune land rover v8's here in iceland to well over 1000bhp all with nitros of course ;)
@ed728i i know what cars are tuned and which engines are good for tuning..all i'm just saying is that not every engine can be tuned as much as a skyline engine can (along with the supra engine) and still maintain a very reasonable amount of reliability..

And of course if you think that its because we can`t afford something better... thats just sad. Its more expensive to tune old cars than new ones, because you have to be inventive (I guess you have to put down your daddys credit card and look up what inventive means) and even have to do without computerized injection systems some times. And STILL we kick these high power wonders` butt.

haha, to all of you amcar fans, notice the turn`s in the road.. no point in 1500hp and loads of tourqe when your cars only go staight.. Small lightweight engine with 500hp and 6-700nm i more than enough to have some fun on a bendy road!
Btw, i drive a audi v8 4,2 biturbo myself.. cool car but the v8 engine is to big and lazy to be fun on a track..

It's not that the Audi would be a sleeper or anything like that... It's just that the R33's suck ass. They are bulky, they understeer all the time... Ever wondered why an R32 costs more than a R33? Because the value and appreciation on a R33 decreases so fast, that nobody really gives a shit about them anymore.
A new Skyline buyer will be tempted with an idea of having a GT-R (R33) for 8000€. Then he buys it and later realizes, what a dumbass he was by doing so. C110, R30-R32 or R34. That's it.

When our v8s are more around 500hp and depending on the engine anywhere between 480-550 lbs of torque. We will win every time. Torque wins races

@NJ3ndri03 I could care less about some old ass gauges going out of wack like most vehicles experience but being a car enthusiast it's because of their powertrain options, handling, potential and fact that I can do work myself is what has made me come to appreciate all the badass shit VAG has produced. not just the beastly inline 5 and Quattro but the VR6, the 2.7L TT, the 1.8t, the 2.0t, the 4.2L V8 ... Everyone has their own perspective which is mostly based on experience or lack there of.

I've had many vehicles stall on me while driving, non of which were a VAG car. My 97 Cavalier, due to TCC Lock up fail. My 76 Blazer due to vapor lock on one occasion, on another it was due to Alternator/Regulator issues which is common on a lot of vehicles. My '92 S10 also died on me for different reasons, powertrain module, vehicle speed sensor, and from TCC lockup. 98 Ford Explorer due to so many faulty electrical problems. Acting like Nissans don't have issues is just arrogant and ridiculous

@leoapoelellas alot of them use the 5cylinder audi 2.2 or 2.3 engines although mostly rebuilt from the ground up with major tuning parts but ive seen this engine well over 1000 bhp, not really surprising when f1 teams were squeezing 1500 bhp from turbo 1.5 engines in 1986. skyline engine is a great engine to tune but most common in japan is the 2.0 found in 200sx and sylvia, we tune land rover v8's here in iceland to well over 1000bhp all with nitros of course ;)

@ed728i i see now..i was arguing with another guy and i thought you was him...i know there are many engines that can be tuned to well over 1000 hp..all i'm saying is that the best ones (if the modification is complete and well thought) are nissan's rb26dett and toyota's 2jz-gte...as you said audi's old 2.3 litre 5cylinder engines is amazing as well as mitsubishi's 4g63 ans subaru's ej20..i know this stuff cause i'm an automotive angineer and a tuner myself...and sorry for my previous comment..

@leoapoelellas hey no worries :D to be honest im not a big audi fan or a street tuning fan anymore, it was really big in the uk at 1 point, but now you can buy cars with 500hp stock that delimeterd will do more or less than 200mph, i think that and the discrimination by the police has made it not so popular now.. i like to see what people can do with cars but i wouldent do it again, i like big comfy v8's and decreet now, just sold my 740i which was a really sweet motor :)

@ed728i you are absolutely right...i like tuning and fast modified cars..but i'm sure that sometime in the future i will want to buy a cofortable car for everyday..for now i have a vw golf 1,6 for using everyday and i'm planning on buying a skyline r34 gt-r or an evo x...but for later a cofy car would't sound bad :p

@SurvivorZ1 castings have limits as well as peoples pockets you are not going to get all motor 1000hp unless you have big displacement there isnt any replacement like displacement rb25 makes it easier to get there but still.... shit ton of money and you wont have a street car.. itll be a race car i have a 490 lift cam 290 duration triple carbs tuned for response and only 260hp at 7500rpm not power. plus who wants to go 200mph in a street car
