This song isn't about suicide, actually. It's about starting over.

He drives the car to the ocean, to sink the broken heart in his trunk (metaphor), but he survives, because he plans to "swim good." He was wearing a suit like the old him had died (funeral) but he says he's gonna take the suit off and "swim good." not commit suicide, smh. The acoustic guitar gives it life, just the way F. Ocean gives himself a new lease on life.
