Between 1974 and 1977 I saw James Taylor in concert SEVEN times, usually at the Universal Amphitheater in West Hollywood, California. Marjorie and I (my wife, at that time) lived in Redondo Beach and would head up over the hill during the summer concert series. Carley Simon performed with James on several of the concerts ~ those were the days, drinking beer out of milk carton containers and enjoying 70's artists of every genre.

He said once he started looking his age... people stopped inviting him to dinner, would not visit or call. He said old people become irrelevant... as he teared up. If famous people get treated like that... we are hopeless.

I've seen him 3 or 4 times over the decades going back to the 70's. It was always a good show. Music and showmanship always tops. I like him because he makes good jokes in between songs, including laughing at himself. The 'poor guy' openly admits his past substance-abuse problems due to inner-conflicts, but otherwise I'd never have guessed. His shows always leave me both energized and relaxed. I saw James Taylor 7 times in concert between 1975 and 1977, most of which took place at the old Universal Amphitheater (we'd ride out over the hill to Hollywood from South Bay). My partner was always Marjorie ~ you could buy milk type cartons of beer in those days and we bought ALOT of 'em!!
