ya if this was classical id would of swayed the tempo but since its hip hop i cant because its just the way hiphop is and going to what fridrikur said the drum track has to be the same tempo all the time or the ppl rappin on it lose rythem and pretty much screw up
NO!!! THis is NOT correct. THe beat should be dotted, or "swung" Listen to the accents on the music. I have no problem with the combining of generas if done right... but this sounds incorrect. The straight beat does not compliment the great piece by Knoffler and Atkins. Go back and try again with a swing beat.

I see your point. But this is a beat and not the drum part. A drum part in something that you build so to sepak on the beat. I was focusing on the beat as what it is: a beat. But again I see your poiint. Muscially it cound sound more swingy like you say.
