Part 2. The scroll "Some Works of Torah" goes into detail how to live seperately from Gentiles and how to sacrifice. So, Paul may have actually bean warning his readers not to get caught up witht he philosophy of this teaching. The scroll is about 30 pages long and an eye opener. The assumption, that Works of the Law is about kosher diet, feast days or Sabbath is not what Paul is talking about.
Thanks for your video. Paul's comments in Romans and Galations are perplexing. He really doesn't go into fine detail as to what he means by "Works of the Law." However, in the Dead Sea Scrolls their is a writing called in English "Some precepts of Torah" or if you translated this into Greek and then back into english "Some Works of the Law."
As well, I disagree with Stern's rendering of "under law". Although it is a choice for Jewish believers to be Torah-observant, our relationship to Torah has changed in Moshiach. Yiddish words weren't used in that time either, so it can be misleading. Other than that, I love the translation.
I don't really know what your conclusion is. Both Gentile & Jewish believers in Yeshua aren't under the same binding of the Mosaic covenant as they were prior to his coming. I recommend reading Michael Brown's "What do Jewish people think of Jesus" book. It is a choice for jewish believers to be torah-observant, as long as they don't force this on other believers (even Jewish ones) and don't think of themselves more highly for doing so and it comes SECONDARY to fellowship & evangelism. cont...
I wrestled with this issue for a while & after praying a lot (although myself being matrilineally Jewish), I don't feel called to live this lifestyle yet. It is important to differentiate between "oral" torah and written torah as well. If this is not done it opens up the door (especially Gentiles) of being deceitful and tricking Jewish people into thinking we are traditional Jews. I
Hope you don't let torah-observance hinder evangelizing in the power of God.
if i can enlighten u, let it be that. be kind to ur neighbor, and u've fulfilled half the torah. from Pirkay Ahavoth (what is its meaning, (It would take half a year of study) thats all i have time right now, peace to you
Thank you for that long and unnecessary explaination, which has nothing to do with the topic of this video. I appreciate your many years of study and encourage you to continue. Much Peace and continued blessings. Feel free to leave relevant comments.
after 14 yrs i found out how much more i need to learn, please, all i'm saying, u wish to teach from the new testament, fine. i don't claim to know that, but not from our torah, PS laws and good deeds go hand in hand, they can not be separated, just as the written law and the oral law.
then u quote rav Eliezar A"H which is correct, but that is not the final word, Rav Yahuda says that "we all have a portion in the world to come..." so which is right? They both are. there is all kinds of text u must study, u show us a book and quote from an other and teach us,
u want to be a paster, or bishop or something, maybe write a book or something, please don't quote any jewish books, u have no concept (thats what u get when some nut translates the jewish boooks, guys like u pick'em up and become teachers
sailor4991, Please, elighten me on the proper interpretation of these passages. Perhaps I have made a mistake. If your going to make claims, please back them up. Peace to You!
i'm not a teacher nor the son of a teacher, i have studies the full Talmud twice, it took me 14 yrs, and am still not satisfied as to my knowledge in it, so i'm doing it a 3rd time, its getting even harder and slower, all i'm saying, u pick up a 'pirkay avoth'(passages of our fathers) and you say u read from the 'mishnah' on which the whole talmud is based on,
Leagalism means when people say Tenach is not for us. If Paul taught us Grace only and Law is not for us why did he take the purification bath after Glatians episode? If Mark "allowed" us to eat anything why Peter said no three times to all sorts Animals on the sheet from Heaven?
continued.. Why didn't Peter say "Oh Yes I will kill and eat these animals beacuse Yeshua has allowed it when He said its not what you eat that makes you vile but what comes out of your mouth" People forget to understand the Scriptures from Hebraic mindset. Sir I agree with your comments on this video.
Thank you for your comments, and you are correct, Peter's vision was not about accepting unkosher food, it was about accepting the Gentiles. Shalom and continued blessings to You!
Mal 2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
Thus HIS perfect life fulfills the consummation of His Father' Will of the Law for HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE to live thus by IN YESHUA as that example of HIM keeping and fulfilling the Father' Law Of Righteousness and Fellowship according to YHVH' Grace...
Live In HIM [Yeshua] and We Learn To Keep YHVH' LAWS By HIS SPIRIT leading for YHVH' Glory By Yeshua Ben YHVH In US Working And Relating Thus Fulfilling The Father' WILL FOR HIS GLORY...
Therefore the law is for the lawless and THE TRUTH is for THOSE Lawful In HIM...
I was really hoping for something more definitive.
