I just loved how Marcus Luttrell put it in the book, "Lone Survivor," when he said 'if they made a monument of him that was the size of the Empire State Building, it still wouldn't be big enough for me.'

I have thanked God many times for giving the world Lt. Michael P. Murphy and for keeping Marcus Luttrell alive through the horrors of Operation Redwing so he could live to tell the story to others.

I'm a Navy Vet and read of Michael Murphy in the Navy Times. His story is probably the most quintessentially "untold" of all modern hero stories.

And because of that, I take the greatest pride and honor telling anyone that I can (whether I'm at college or wherever) about the selflessness and heroism of one -

LT Michael Murphy.

He was a Penn State Graduate. Yesterday, 23 APRIL 2009, the PSU NROTC unit attended a service to dedicate a room in his honor. We had the honor to not just see the medal, but shake the hands of Lt. Murphy's father, mother, and brother. We all said, "Thank you."
