Cleary this game came down to Georgia being outcoached on every level. They could not make adjustments on the sideline in the first half and watched themselves get dug into a 31-0 deficit they had no chance of escaping. 'Bama's offensive line consistently pushed Georgia's D-Line back and Georgia's and allowed Wilson all day to throw in the first half. Cap that to an undisciplined Georgia team self imploding on the sideline and getting personal fouls and its recipe for disaster.

Heres why it was a big deal. Now in college football its the modern era. In which UGA has never worn the black jerseys in the modern era. The players have been begging Richt to let them wear the black jerseys for 5 years and Richt has finally let them do it. UGA people only cared about beating Auburn over the years because the game was late in the season and it meant a possible SEC Championship. Our hated rivalries are 1.)GT & 2.)Florida. Auburn comes in at 3 or 4 if you include Clemson. Hell, I don't even hate Auburn. UGA and Auburn are like kissing cousins.

Auburn is JUST AS BIG a rival as Tech or Florida. There just isn't as much animosity between UGA and Auburn as there are with those other two teams. It's a mutual respect thing. Pat Dye went to UGA, coached Auburn. Vince Dooley went to Auburn, coached UGA. A couple of our coaches went to Auburn, and there D-Coordinator the past few years went to UGA. So its not as hate-filled as those other rivalries but it is very very VERY intense. The oldest rivalry in the south and a very close one
