i agree we should have soldered the power - however - we are planning on reconfiguring this. typically we just follow directions and skip a step or do something different from what the actual instructions say if we are planning on doing something else in the future with the kit!
The battery doesn't need to be too accessible if you use rechargeable batteries and wire in the charging circuit (that's what the third wire connector on the power switch is for). I haven't seen any stats for how long batteries last in this unit, so maybe it isn't too much of a problem?
We will touch base soon about your questions... In fact we are going to be posting another video about this kit to talk about what can and cant be done.. The existing videos are basically showing you what its like to work with.
Such a shame that even though you need to solder bits of this kit, you decided to bodge the power cable with tape! If anyone's following this, I'd suggest this critical cable is soldered...
Also, could the bottom be removed to access the batteries (you'd need to make sure you allow enough slack in the power cable)?
thanks a lot, your videos are GRRRRR-EAT!

Great videos! These were essential due to the lack of docs.
One question: is there any reference for wiring in the charging circuit? I'd like to use rechargeable batteries. Thanks!

this is very true. the purposes of building the kit we just went through this process. however, typically we would solder those wires.
we do have additional videos coming up with this kit in which we wil address that point.
thanks for the feedback!
