By keeping it upright after hooking his front wheel, Fuglsang avoided taking out half the peleton behind him. Nice work. Too bad about the truck, though.
The Danish sports press wasn't dissapointed, they had just expected more from him, because Jakob Fuglsang is one of the biggest coming riders in Denmark. Afterwards the acctually apologized because they didn't know hw bad his injury was. Not dissapointed! :)
The funny thing is that the Danish sports press were dissapointed that he could not keep up with the favourites in the Vuelta. which is not that weird with that crash.
OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! I've seen the "Team Saxo Bank riders discuss there injuries" a few times now. And, after seeing this I surely understand how Jakob could get such a nasty wound...
The commentary makes me glad that I live in Europe again after having spent a few years in the US. Totally asinine. Cycling will always be a minority sport in the US - it's perceived as being too European (read effete & pretentious). The guys commentating don't understand it & would rather be watching a bunch of meatheads chase pigskin around the place.
nah as far as american bike race commentators go, these two are pretty much the best there are. they were commentators for the vuelta and the giro and they did an astounding job.
but i will agree that cycling is a minority sport in the US. however, I can also say that there are some places where cycling culture is very strong, such as UCSD and la jolla.
I'm gonna guess he took an arrow to the knee.
