@tafxkz Here are the chords for the verses in sequence:
Em7 A7 Dm7 G7 Gm7 C A7 Dm Bflat. And for the chorus: the verse ends with the Dm changing into a D, then Em A7 A7sus4th C Bflat D Em A7 A7sus4th C Bflat C6 G - the G's bass drops down to Em to start the next verse. I hope this helps! Thanks for caring to learn. ~Jon
Hey! How dare you imply that Nilsson is better than I! We are just "different". For instance, he is talented, accomplished, successful and brilliant; and I...
... wish I were, too. ;-)
Thanks for even mentioning us in the same breath! ~Jon
I agree, you are very talented! Stumbled on this quite by accident and what a joy to listen to. You have a good voice. Hope someone picks up on your talent for song writing! Good luck. All the best to Lisa, too. I've been there and I know what it felt like for me. I hope your music inspires her. I bet she's proud of you!
Thank you Leeysa for your kind and encouraging words. I'd love to actually sell a song someday (I suck at performing). The idea of one of my songs gracing a professional CD by one of my fav artists would thrill me. ~Jon
I have been listening to your vids for a few days. They turn up when I look at my own cause we both write originals, and I have to say you are really a wonderful songwriter. I mean, I feel like you know me. tomflandersedward must be teasing. anyway, you are a poet.
listen to most of your songs...they're not my taste at all, but i recognize they are quality. I think the lyrics to this song are the best...they are more abstract. The others are a little too simple but not bad.
You know... I'm sure that song was somewhere in my subconscious when I wrote this. I've been a long-time listener of Cat Stevens and "Sad Lisa" has always been one of my favorites of his (how ironic that my wife's name is Lisa!).
As with most songwriters, we write that which we live and know best. Even so, life is merely the inspiration that ignites our imaginations. Most of my songs are about 60% reality and 40% fantasy. The real events create a foundation on which a theme is born. Anything we add to that is poetic licence and cleverness. This is the craft I believe behind the ability. In other words, don't take my songs too literally as representative of my life or those around me. Thanks for listening. Jon

Beautiful song, you sing very nice. It seems Crosby Stills Nash & Young's style. You are a talented man.

Beautiful song, dude! The mood kinda reminds me on "Sad Lisa" from Cat Stevens, but then again maybe it`s just the title ;-)

Bright and deep lyrics. I think that your wife is so lucky to share her life with a man with that sensitivity.
