I've had my braces for 6 months & they added power chains to the mix today.. That's a whole new bag of fun. Power chains really, REALLY hurt. More than regular braces. But they're moving my teeth really fast! They've already closed 2 gaps in the 7 hours I've had the power chains on!

@RoseAnise12 I've had braces for a while now & don't worry! Braces don't hurt, until probably the following days.When I got them on, it didn't hurt for me. Not even days after. But the funny thing is when I got them tightened,yeah it hurt. But it's like putting a lot of pressure into your teeth. Or more like, it's having your teeth throbbing from the pain. But trust me, it isn't bad. I need my braces for about two years & things are going swell. Jst don't freak out, it won't be bad.

I got them December 6th on a Tuesday and I went back to school on that Friday Then I spent that weekend with my friend by that time I was able to eat again. MY braces STILL cut up my lip I have one post that has literally dug into my lip!! Wax is my gurdian angel:) Yeah Going back next week to get them tighten,, Ughh I did have my ront to teeth over lapping but now I have a gap there!! These braces work wonders!!

It wasn't the rubber bands. Some people have teeth that move quickly. Others, who have denser bone (like me) have teeth that move slowly.

I have some trouble applying on my rubber bands, because yesterday my dentist just give me my first rubber bands and he says that I have to wear all the time. But I mean I can barely brush my teeth, eat with them and it just give me a headache. So do you have any suggestions on how I can wear my rubberband? And should I change them before they pop? Because my dentist says that I should change them when they pop, he didn't say anything about changing them before they don't pop.

@BrittSoung4 At first rubber bands are suuper tight and can be really painful, but the more you wear them the less they'll hurt. I'm pretty sure you are supposed to take them out when you brush your teeth, and I know you're supposed to leave them in when you eat, but they always snapped, so I just started taking them off when I ate, and as long as you put them on right after it's not a big deal. Hope yours feel better soon :)

i had a chipped baby tooth and the adult tooth grew above it, so i have fangs on one side... i kinda had fangs on both sides to begin with, but the right one grew back into its place, which made my left fang more noticable and it doesnt have a lot of room left to move back down...I am self conscious, so i dont smile with teeth, so i hope it gets fixed with braces.... i also have an overbite, so idk what will happen... i just hope they dont have to pull a tooth, cause that sounds painful

@EricaArthur15 well hopefully the baby tooth will fall out on its own, but if it doesn't yeah, they'll prolly have to pull it. but don't even stress, getting teeth pulled is not bad at all, they numb you up and the next thing you know you're at home drooling uncontrollably and icing haha. and I'm sure braces can fix whatever you have going on. But till then, don't be self conscious, i'm sure your smiles beautiful! embrace your uniqueness!

@EricaArthur15 getting teeth pulled doesnt hurt much. they rub numbing stuff in your mouth and (dont scream) give you a shot. it doesnt hurt that bad since they put numbing rub in the area.

Just a tip for anyone who has to wear rubber bands: Purple is one of the least noticeable colors since it's the darkest :)
