Ron Block looks exactly the same then as he does today. Alison has definitely changed her look but not her sound. This is a great video. I think Letterman is secretly a Bluegrass fan. Thanks for posting this.
oh my GOD from the very 1st time i heard her voice my eyes can't help but cry 4 d sheer beauty of her spirit in melody and words..thank GOD 4 talents like Allison and d person who shared this!thanks!
I think it is wonderful that she has changed. I bet she is happier inside. Also, you can hear Dave in the background say yeah after she finishes her solo. I think Dave may have gone from smarty pants 'is that you guys' to a real appreciation of their talent.
Hmmm, the celeb makeover machine would make her feel happier?? I'm not so sure about that. While she certainly is stunning as a wafer think blonde, I personally think she is attractive enough here with STUNNING talent.
IF she has the new look cause she wants it, more power to her. If it was cause her management or label strong armed her, well then I don't lilke it so much. I wonder if she's been allowed a burger the last few years...and there's something not so great about that IMHO.
So glad I found this performance here. The first time I heard Alison sing was this performance when it aired on tv many years ago. The very next morning I went out and bought her CD and I have been a huge fan ever since.
I LOVE the way she looks here! And that was one of the main reason (besides her amazing voice) that I liked her so much. She was like the regular ol' country girl... and there's nothing wrong with that in my eyes.
It's been a long while since I've seen this! Three Grammys? haha. Oh what time has brought. I never hear this song enough. It has such a special meaning. Thanks for the reminder of this performance!
I have been so blessed to see her twice in concert w? good seats! 2 of the best concerts I've ever attended!

You could tell she was a little nervous but kept looking up for God to help her sing His Song. Ron Block is an awsome person and song writer.

Your brain has rolled out your nasal cavity or maybe that's nasal cavities. Either way, it certainly could happen if you think she left Rounder.
Maybe you haven't even left your bedroom? Huh?

curtrocks... you're angelic Allison. You should do an album with John Prine?

Love 'em. Such 'true' playing that fully utilizes the sounds of each instument. Each fills it's space naturally...
