  • This girl deserves the bench.

  • The problem is that people who say they 'like arguing' or are 'good at arguing' usually are good at engaging in loud discussions with other people. These discussions seldom follow any real logical path. So, they actually aren't good at arguing, they're just possibly good at rhetoric. Two different things. To do well on the LSAT and get into Law School, one needs to be 'good' at arguing in the classical sense---recognizing logic and structured argument.

  • Wow teenagers are so beautiful

  • Definitely agree. I'm 16, My passion is medicine. Believe me when I say, I'm not just one of those kids who say "when I grow up I'm gonna be a doctor". I've have done every bit of research I can. Also, I have no members in my family who are in any kind of medical profession so I've had to go out and find my own contacts, I did my first work experience when I was just 12 and got myself into a surgery, since then I've done 8 work experiences at various hospitals, and have loved every minute of it.

  • i agree with you, argument is not the only thing which will make u a lawyer. but argument is on of the special skills, which you must have to become a professional lawyer. for example i am becoming a criminal defense lawyer, i am not good at argument but i am trying to get better at it. if people are good at one thing and not other they will try to improve on it.

  • you argue alot but your cute and id drive you up the fucking wall...wait i take that back i saw those funny faces you made

  • you argue alot but your cute and id drive you up the fucking wall

  • So you're saying don't try to be a lawyer just because someone else thinks you should be one? No shit. If you're good at arguing and decide it's something you might want to be one day who are you to tell them they shouldn't try?

  • I love you! This is fantastic! Stuff that needs to be said. Great video. You are my hero.

  • I bet you give good head !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im syudying in the uk and your points are very true. Another more obvious reason poeple go in to law is their motivated by money. When I was doing my access a couple of years ago a student sat by my side bragging about how much their sister a barrister was on and her fucking big merc. I was almost sick. Yes, ok the wages are good. but aside from the reality it being hard work and determiation you do it because you find it truly intresting. and you believe in justice and in fairness to all.

  • Well, I'd argue with you, but it's not going to get me any closer to be a lawyer so you win either way. Doh! Besides, you're right on everything you said. Lawyers don't argue, they present and differentiate legal standings in a logical fashion according to well-defined set of procedural rules, one of which is disclosure which wipes out about 99% of the surprise endings you see on TV. In TV's defense, yes there are lawyers and they do occasionally go to court, after that TV just whiffs.

  • you "baby" cute...

  • all you need to be a lawyer is a pasion to steel thats all they do

  • You should do porn, or something else that you actually have a chance in

  • There's a lot of clueless people out there. I hate hearing "I'm going to be rich because I'm studying ________." Especially the ones who say this because they're studying business. I'm a business administration major, specifically marketing and at first I try to have a decent conversation with these people until they show clear lack of interest, or just don't understand what I'm even talking about. Sure, an education helps but it's not going to take you anywhere, you have to do that yourself.

  • The time you spend making this stupid video should have probably been spent studying for your LSAT.

  • so you basically are hating on someone you know who wants to go to law school. yay you made a video saying your better than... geesh. get a life. you should have encouraged whomever you are talking about.

but hey.. i heard looks get you far. and you are a cutie.. so who cares your a bitch. =) have a good day.

  • Go in to Porn Bitch.

  • Cool it with the ego. People are people. Don't be a hater.

  • I was with you up until you said you're taking criminology. Its nice to know you like the material before entering law school, but taking criminology, poli-sci, or law-related courses in undergrad will not prepare for actually applying, analyzing or arguing law. True, oral argumentation only takes up a fraction of a lawyer's workload. However, written argumentation (e.g. briefs) takes up a big chunk. Criminal justice/poli-sci majors don't not teach you how to create logically valid arguments.

  • @The1gK Which is why I took a specific course that only dealt with the structure of arguments. I also skewed my Crim course selection to law based, rather than humanities based courses.

  • @AshBradford The study of law is based in the humanities, as are other rigorous fields like linguistics and philosophy. I'm not sure what distinction you're trying to make. Taking law-related courses in undergrad provides you with no other advantage besides affirming your interest in law. If your chatty pal likes to argue with her family and has a degree in physics, she could do just as well, if not better, than you in law school. The rigor of her coursework is what matters, not the material.

  • @AshBradford did you ever get into law school? which one?

  • Excellent advice that you did give, however, to the "persons" out there wanting to play with, and at, statutory and corporate law!

  • Hmmm...the Law is simple. (So are idiots, however). Simple- Republic = Common Law (Constitutional). I therefore, am a Lawyer (part of my duty, to the Republic). No license, no certification, as the Founders intended. The Common Law for the Common Man (with Common Sense), ALWAYS. However, you are speaking of statutory/contract and corporate law, which is a BAR Association dog & pony show, based on form without substance. GIANT difference. It's a shame they don't teach real law anymore........

  • First, i'd like to commend you on taking time outto learn about the legal profession prior to applying to law school. I'm an attorney and I just wanted to caution you about being so cocky. You're not a lawyer yourself and your own idea of what it's really like to be a lawyer is inaccurate at this stage of the game. To tell people that they should go to court and observe is to determine whether they are "cut out" to be a lawyer is misleading. Most lawyers never step foot in a courtroom.

  • First, let me commend you on taking the extra time out to learn about the legal profession prior to applying to law school. I'm an attorney and I just wanted to caution you about being so cocky. Remember, you have a lot to go through before you are an attorney yourself, and your idea of what it's like to be a lawyer is almost certainly inaccurate, at least in part. To tell people that they should go to court to determine whether they are "cut out" to be a lawyer is misleading.

  • I dont know if i love the system, however, i love reading boring things and finding loopholes in contracts, i also love memorizing things that can be used to your advantage. :]

Anyone else here ever stump a police officer that pulled you over without a reason?

Learn your rights, and if you follow the rules and regulations, you can stay on top of things.

  • @zepeterinma True, learning Criminal Law and end up arguing with a fucking cop over a ticket is fun.

    Nuff'Said.

  • Let ppl have their dreams :)

  • Right on Ash!!!

  • @Friendlynice if you're referring to me, I'm only a quarter black, so I don't consider myself a black person.

  • @AshBradford ummm........you're black.

  • @redman10466

:D she already lost her first case. She` black as hell and denies it. lol

  • @EdTheBadass see if she knew how to argue like a "real lawyer" then she would be able to defend her self....lol

  • @redman10466 LMAO!

  • I totally agree & well said, it doesn't mean that if your good at hammering you can be an engineer same in putting band aid and being a doctor.

  • lol.... your comments are sooo true.

  • How is law school goin?

  • I like you you real...it ahve alotta fools jsut wanna get into it and don't have the mind for it...keep up the good work im suscribing

  • Lol - I am a lawyer, and while passion does help, the most important thing is not arguing, it is patience and being able to control the situation.

Furthermore, practice law for a while and you will hate the legal system. Hating the legal system is actually good because it motivates you to change it.

  • oh yeah and obviously it was a piss take!

  • the system for making comments on youtubes is shit they should take out the word limit as people will just do 2 comments to get it all in and then it won't make sense and the bandwith is still used all the same.

  • I do not agree that having a head on your shoulders helps. In fact I just read a meta-analysis which is pretty conclusive on this. One lawyer in the study group didn't have a head on his shoulders. That was because his client savagely hacked it off with a bread knife (that he stole from the prisons kitchens) minutes before the researchers doing the "head-count" arrived.

  • Compared to the control group of workers from other professions (all had heads on their shoulders). there is in fact a statistically significant link here in that fewer lawyer have heads than do workers selected at random.

Now see this is the type of dumb argument thats waiting for you in court.

  • @Acerimmer12 I have no idea what you are going on about....

  • yeah the second bit didn't come out.... It goes on....

The control group made up of a random sample of various other professional and non-professional workers all had heads. Showing a statistically significant link between being a lawyer and not having a head. And... Heres the kicker.

This is the kind of dumb argument you're going to spend the rest of your life listening to.

  • @AshBradford You should study in Canada,U.S. Law Schools are expensive and will kill you with debts.

Graduating with a Law degree while having NO fucking debts will be considered a plus while seeking decent jobs.

Try McMaster,UofT or McGill Universities, much less expensive, more prestige and it will be a bit easier to come back and find a job.

  • @Acerimmer12 lol

  • With nearly 8000 hits already you are probably going to be wrong a great many times in your assessment.

Or if you take another perspective you are nearly wrong 8000 times already because the idea that you need to love the legal system to become a lawyer is plainly ridiculous. A love of money is clearly ample motivation for the vast majority of lawyers.

  • Im good at arguing I think Im going into law

    Thanks!

  • hahah.. Law schools only 3 years, not four..

  • Its true. Law is not as sexy as Boston Legal and Law and Order make it out to be. Its a lot of research and agony. I'm in law school now, and a lot of folks have left when they realized the law in reality was not as awesome as it sounded on TV. They realized that it required work. Thanks for letting folks know what's really up.

  • I took philosophy before law. I'm studying to be a paralegal, law is a copious amount of paperwork. Knowing how to structure arguments logically and according to the rules and procedures will theoretically grant you success. Its cool that you sit in on trials, me too-

  • You made this video 3 years ago - are you in law school now?

  • @PoprocksCk Last semester of 4th year University. My undergrad takes 4 years, not 3. I'm Filling out my applications this summer, taking the year off to raise funds, then going the year after next.

  • Hey smart know it all college person: Search Reactive Vs. Proactive.

  • (1) It's not that there are too many lawyers; it's that there are too many lawyers in certain geographic areas and certain practice areas. Due to lots of factors, people with law degrees often shun practice in rural areas and practice within 'non-glamorous' fields like, say, patent law and wills & probate. (2) She's right: if you enter law practice for money, fame, notoriety, a 'challenge,' etc., you'll be doing yourself, your clients, and society a disservice.

  • I agree. Job market for lawyers is pretty poor right now. Try looking into professions in which people are needed. There are too many lawyers.

  • Lawyers is all about connections lol

  • engineering is harder :P

  • Of course it is harder. Engineers improve people's lives. Lawyers fuck up people's lives. That's the difference between Law and Engineering :)

  • @ClassValedictorian what about the engineers who helped make bombs, missiles,

biological weaponary? Not all lawyers mess up peoples lives, some of them are infact good people trapped within a system of corruption and control.

  • Agreed with MoneyMaker. How about people who work for legal aid, or human rights lawyers. Hell, even normal criminal lawyers can be perfectly ethical. It's not the job that's bad, its how you use it. The same could be said for most professions.

  • rofl it looks like youtube is banning people to tell their opinions to others, their breaking down democracy xD

  • Wow. And she hated lawyers BEFORE some MPAA attorney asked Youtube to shut her down.

Is there anyone reading this who thinks AshBradford's sampling of Gnarles Barkley should be illegal? Neither do I.

Write to your Congressman & ask to have "fair use" laws changed to allow people like AshBradford to make a video like this. It is ludicrous that in the land of the First Amendment, a political video like this can be disabled because it samples a few seconds of someone else's song.

  • I'm still annoyed about it. i don't want to repost the video and lose the comments, and its not like youtube will allow me to just replace this video with a non-copywrite version. They instead tell me to use their garbage music replacement app that removes the entire audio track. Its a talking video!

  • Objection! I want to become a lawyer because I don't want to be ripped off by assholes like my parents were. I want to be able to say, "Don't let me get the best of you, 'cause I'm a lawyer!" Lawyers don't take bull from anybody, and I'm not about to start with you. Law school is full of tiresome readings, staying up 'til 6 am, followed by exhausting exams that only the strong willed can handle. First year, they scare you, second year, they work you, third year, they bore you. Slam!!! In yo face

  • You don't need to become a lawyer to not be ripped off by people. You just need to not be a moron.

  • I'm sure the thousands of people who suffer from identity theft, credit company interest hikes, and government corruption will have something to say about that.

Obama has a law degree and he just passed a law that would limit credit card companies.

Maybe a basic 5th grade civil participation class will help you people.

  • This is just someone who doesnt want anyone to succeed, so she tries to tell them what they "can't" accomplish, which is bullshit. She tells people they can't be lawyers because she herself doesn't think she can be a lawyer

  • Umm... no. In any case, the audio track on this video is disabled, so it's not like you have any idea what I said.

  • is it weird that im in law school because of Phoenix Wright?

  • Oooh god yes..I want to make sweet sweet love to your smart self...

  • Thats very true, " people do think they can do law solely based on the fact that their parents or friends tell them they can argue well and neglect the fact that law involves long hours of studying and hard work." However, lets not go so far to be hating on these people. Chill!! Your confirming the bitch arrogant stereotype for law students. And "Arguing" is a skill lawyers must have along with hard work. You can work hard and get through law school but you need to be able to communicate too. :P

  • I dunno if anyone's pointed this out, but a 90 hour week would be working more than 12 hours every single day of the week. I don't know for certain, but I consider it unlikely that anyone would do that. If you didn't work weekends, that would mean you'd have to work 18 hours a day. Not gonna happen.

  • Again, I see your point, and I agree somewhat. However:

    1) not all law students become lawyers (some go into business, academia, etc.)

    2) not all lawyers become criminal lawyers (other areas of law do exist which do not require lawyers to be in court, and are not as stressful as criminal/civil litigation)

    2) not all lawyers or law students "love the law" (it's not a requirement)

    3) it's not "loving the law" that matters (applying the law to the facts is what matters)

  • You missed my point entirely, but thank you for stating things I already knew.

  • And by the way, a person goes to law school to learn and understand the law; during that process, he/she will then be able to adequately make an assessment as to whether they "love the law system" or not.

You, however, are only a college student. I'm sure your "law" classes are insightful, but law school is on another level.

I doubt that you are adequately knowledgeable about the complexities and ambiguities of the law to have a reasonable and grounded appreciation for "the law system."

  • Now who's making assumptions.

  • Why do you care if someone wants to go to law school because of a seemingly arbitrary reason?

People can go to law school for whatever reason they so desire.

I'm a second year law student, by the way. Law is a very broad field, and people are drawn to the study for various reasons.

That's great that you "love the law," but you shouldn't look down on others who necessarily don't (and want to go to law school).

I see where you're coming from though.

  • It's not just about an arbitrary reason, it has to do with people who have no idea at all what the law is about, and beyond that aren't likely to make it through high school, let alone through an undergrad, and to law school.

  • You think you know what the law is about because you sit in on trials and look up sections of the criminal code? You are exactly the kind of person that you dislike; a tiny bit of knowledge and an interest in law spurred no doubt by law and order. Criminology is not law. Have a look through evidential rules before you start touting your love of criminal law.

  • I hate law and order. I have a bit more than a tiny bit of knowledge. Please don't presume to know what I do and do not know. My original motivation for wanting to enter law came from observing criminal trials at my local court house when I was 14. I've researched it since then obviously. I also know that criminology is not law. Half of my criminology courses are about community interventions. And no, I am not the kind of person I dislike.

  • It's all down to perspective. The people that you dislike, you dislike because you think that they're ignorant - they have no real experience of the law. I am a final year law student and am working as a junior lawyer - yet I feel that I am still too inexperienced to claim that I will make a good lawyer. To me, your experience is just as superficial as theirs. Litigation is not child's play, and we (including myself) who have only limited experience of the law are in no position to judge.

  • This isn't about making a GOOD lawyer, its about being able to get into and get through law school in the first place.

  • HAHAHA LOL this is so funny!! you're 100% correct though.

took me years of soul searching through undergrad to confirm that law was what I wanted to devote myself to. Never because I "liked to argue with people".

You got a F**king Dirty mouth!!

  • HAHAHA

  • yea i think im one of those ppl =[ im not all that interested in reading but i know i can get into it and ever since i was lilttle i always loved rules and planning and well arguing with my sisters and brothers well yea idk yet

  • But ignorance is only the lack of knowing? Ignorant is more suitable for not having an excuse.

  • You present many good points in your agrument, but some of things that have been said are uneeded opinions.Which doesn't help your case and it may offend.Everybody has to start somewhere when entering any kind of field.Let's say if you wanted to become a Cop, Your first reason in becoming one is most likely "Hey they look cool and they carry a gun" Not the perferred "I want to be a cop to help and protect people, even if it means my life" reason. As they grow they find that there's more to it.

  • I want to be a lawyer,to be more specific a defense attorney, to protect the innocent as much as I can where it matters, in the court room.Too Many people are getting set up,framed, and worse just because of being in the wrong place at the wrong time or of being misinformed of something or simply making the wrong choices for whatever reason. I matured my reason for being a lawyer from the reason many people hate hearing "I'm good at arguing so I think I can be a good lawyer".

  • So does that make me "fucking stupid" for starting off my reasoning with that hated phrase? We Defense attorneys aren't lawyers for the law we are for the people.please note that I'm not attacking you or this vid at all. I voted it 5stars myself, because You have to be real with some of these people that think it's easy. I'm just concerned with the certain tones and certain words used here. And seeing that as there aren't many intelligent comments made,I felt the need to say something for them.

  • I'm glad when people move on from the "I'm good at arguing" path. If you move on, I have no issue with you.

Also, as for stating opinion in my argument, I wasn't trying to make an airtight legal argument, I WAS stating an opinion.

  • Well I do want to be a laywer, so I can get married and have a good life. I Need to brush up on allot of things though, Hopefully God will help me. Good lucc with your success!!!! Blaze

  • God won't help you, but you can certainly help yourself!

  • I'm going to give my best, are you trying to be a lawyer? Blaze

  • Worry about yourself and not others. Plenty of people get into law for many reasons. Some of them may sound better or worse then others. Know this by Verbatim for instance.

    (1) A Promise which the Promisor should Reasonably expect to induce Action or Forbearance on the part of the Promissee or a third person and which DOES induce such Action or Forbearance IS BINDING if injustice can be avoided ONLY by enforcement of the Promise. The remedy granted for Breach may be limited as justice requires.

  • your video is like a curse. but i will still become a lawyer. that's my dream.

  • Truth be told it doesn't take a luv of law2attend even the most prestigious law school. Tons of babies end up in law school not even knowing why. BUT a love will give u the drive that absolutely kills a curve. Being a good arguer helps IF u can communicate ur ideas on paper&in person. Paper is more important most lawyers are actually paper pushers believe it or not. Plz don't get offended by her video she's a child. I would eat her alive in person&on paper. lol

  • Despite how hard to read your comment is, I get the impression that it's me who you are calling a child. Somehow I doubt you have the ability to "eat me alive" either in person or on paper. Learn to spell.

  • I do not know this girl at all but from how she presented herself here in this vid, she isn't just a child. It means nothing whether she's a child or not because she is right.Too many people think a lawyer is actually like the shows and it's all about agruing.Even though that is the most important part seeing as there are real people in real situations, but there is alot of serious tedious work involved.Oh,A word to the wise: No one cares how good you are without proper evidence proving you.lol

  • i can't get you. are you the one who wants to become a lawyer? babes a model may be. you better think about it, ok!

  • well i think this videoa was actually very imporatant to thoe who dont understand wat it takes t be a lawyer but at the same time you dont hace the right to call any bodistupid becuz of the fact that they didnt have that knowledge in the first place. you didnt really enourage people you undermined them and thats not right. if your going to make a video make it right

  • Ah for the love of a certificate of advocacy. You see in UK law you become a solicitor then apply to argue in court. I agree with you here.

  • Actually not true, any solictor has standing in the County or Magistrates' Court, and can deal with vital matters such as ancillary relief, childcare, negligene, trusts etc.

It is only the high court that requires a solictor-advocate to have standing.

    I presume you're not a lawyer yourself.

  • Well said.. In fact, in reality lawyers don't go to court unless the problem cannot be resolved through the means of paperwork..However,arguing is a good asset if you want to rule in the court ;)) Arguing rationally, that is.

  • anyone who claims to want to be a lawyer and is that naive will soon find out it is not for them well before grad school, they don't need u bashing them or insulting their intelligence. that being said-i do applaud your energy and enthusiasm

  • I'm sorry but you drive me crazy, i hope you don't get offended, really, but sound like you think you are better than a lot of people. your video sounds like this: here is the problem (stupid people) and here is how I'm NOT like them, how i am so much better...boohoo c'mon you're taking your time to make a video about people you think are dumb...hmmm

  • What? So making a complaint about a group of people I think are stupid somehow causes me to be stupid? Nice logic. I was bored and had nothing to do for an afternoon. I decided I would film a video. Big deal.

  • blah, blah, blah, ok Ms. Logic! you're too funny

  • You moron, you are missing the point! The point being that the practice of the law is not merely a exercise in glamor and "wit"; it is extremely rigorous and requires a lot of time and immersion in the work. She is completely right.

  • My father has been a practicing attorney for 25 years, trust me, MORON, I know what it takes. I came across this video looking for a video my father's colleague posted about law school apps, when I came across this video, I called my dad so he could watch it and we both had a good laugh at this idiot's expense! Now at yours!

  • What is it that is so bad? Sure, she's young and a bit up herself, but that's fogiveable. Her point seems to be a good one (although obvious) that some people don't think hard enough about what the law means and are sucked in by the "sex" appeal of it.

  • I forgot to add, the fundamental qualities of a *successful* lawyer are:

    1) Workaholic

    2) Flexible Ethics (anyone can try to argue this but, at SOME point in a lawyer's career whether as defense or prosecutor, he/she is forced to make a decision that will cause them to step on someone's toes or find a loop

    hole)

    3) Quick witted (mostly if you're going into litigation)

    and last but not least...

    4) Either single or pro-divorce =)

  • those are about what I would have said. I just know a lot of "good arguers" who have little dedication, and aren't overly quick witted who want to become lawyers.

  • I'm a crim student as well and crim does NOT = law. Criminology is more like psychology. I am also in my 4th year (honours) and am law school-bound (Osgoode Hall, York University)and have had the fortunate opportunity to sit in on some 1st and 2nd year LLB courses at Osgoode (one of Canada's top law school) and can honestly say that about 90% of the material covered in my undergraduate studies cannot be applied to law school... End of.

  • And no offense, but people like you do drive me insane. I don't go making a video about it shutting people down, but they do. Being an arguer in law is important, cause it shows underlying skills and the purpose of being a lawyer is winning. You may be a great study, but this video was far from convincing and was only discouraging. You don't have to sit at home researching law to be destined to be a lawyer either, there's school for that.

  • it was meant to be discouraging. This video refers to people who are clearly stupid and also want to become lawyers. You missed the point.

  • Well what you said was just immaturely critical to all those who wish to go into law. Of course, arguing is still a great skill. Being an arguer plays out as a great characteristic that doesn't necessarily have to point to law as a career. Being an arguer shows vigor and talent, leading to a whole range of careers. On the contrary, all great lawyers that I know have started out as a confident, energetic, and arrogant adolescents. Believing to be a great arguer is the beginning, believe me.

  • I despise law and order (and I am not too fond of the show either)... but I favorited this on the grounds that I love critical thinking skills.

  • BAR FLUNKER!!!!!!!

  • lol AGREED.

  • PS.. I think bartelb was just winding you up... seriously doubt he's a lawyer or any of his other claims.

  • i hate people like you. know it all left wing morons who walk around law school like because theyre sipping a starbucks and watching cnn theyre going to make a good lawyer. i have the same body as the rock, my girlfriend is a dancer, we party in clubs 3 nights a week, neither one of us give a shit about law related issues when we're not working, and yet we are both the best lawyers i have ever met and make a combined yearly income of 700 grand. explain that you ugly little girl.

  • well good for you. i hate both starbucks and cnn. i also club 3 nights a week. i think i'll make a good lawyer because I have an aptitude for the law. but thanks for calling me an ugly little girl. mature.

  • I'm going to be a lawyer. But not because of the reasons you state. You see, I despise the law, and I've been arrested about 20 times. And I know that I've done some things that I was guilty of (no felonies on my record). But I also got boned on a lot of times. I want to get into law because I despise the law system. I'm an English major, Philosophy minor with a 3.8 GPA at UT. Oh, yeah, i'm gonna be a lawyer.

  • I've been to law school and it sucked. I quickly came to the realization that the legal system isn'intented to reach justly solutions, but rather squandering complications.

  • Good points! Good luck with law school! :)

  • i wanna be a lawyer cuz im good at watching judge judy and my dad thinks a i have good listening skills so im gunna go to harvard law and get an easy degree

  • You're too hot to be a lawyer. Actually, I'm sure that you'll make a great lawyer.

  • i find it very amuzing that you think you know it all... cute rate 2/10

  • i agree 100%

  • I seriously hate those people too...

  • I love law school, but it's not for everyone. :) Good luck.

  • I agree... Those people are annoying. Most of the people who say that lack the intelligence, stamina, disposition, and general study habits that it takes to become a lawyer. :) Especially bad is when they compare arguing with being a lawyer.

I like to eat food... I should be a master pastry chef!!!

  • You don't need to have a love for law or a love for trials to be a lawyer. In fact, most of the lawyers don't even see the inside of a courtroom. Courts are for lawyers who failed to negotiate a settlement.

Don't forget that law also involves things like tax law, merger and acquisitions, corporate contracts and patent law, all of which are extremely diverse areas that don't require you to be all that passionate for the legal system itself.

  • True. My brother works for a law firm of tax lawyers, all of whom never go to court.

My point was that that so many of the people who arbitrarily chat about dreams of being lawyers, don't have what it takes to make it though law school. (It's like, really hard or something.)

  • good one

  • Why would that drive you nuts? There are more things that drive me nuts that lawyers say than those who want to be. Oh, and watching summary convictions being handed down, going to provincial court, enduring the endless proceedings, delays, and court screw ups drive me bonkers...and I am one who loves the principle of our justice system too. Loving the ideal versus loving the day to day grind are two completely different kettles of fish. :)

  • lawyers are a dime a dozen...good luck.

  • You scare me girl, no I am only kidding. I find your insight unusually broad scoped for someone of your age. Your stuff is really interesting, but I actually find the humour in your diatribes the most entertaining part of it. Ah....yes almost forgot Thanks

  • I think the same as Zoraja U are so F#%^ cute@

  • Half of my department (political science) in college claimed they'd go to law school, for exactly the reasons you just stated - primarily a love of "arguing." Don't worry, none of those people will wind up attorneys. I can tell you that practicing lawyers spend most of their time on the phone and in front of a computer screen, not in court or doing any sort of "arguing." Good luck to you.

  • 4 years of law school huh?

  • I think your rage came through more than your annoyance in this one. quite amusing to watch Asha grow!

  • In the spirit of not taking things to serious. All I could think of when I watched this video was, dam you have beautiful skin. You have small pores and no blemishes. I wouldn't dare hold a camera that close to my face.
