Music is not about technique, talent, read, or showing themselves for their capabilities, is about emotion, and what makes you feel... you love playing music, it doesn't matter if it's hard or not...
Its awesome that you play a lot of songs by ear, as Ive had a conversation with a pianist friend of mine discussing whether its possible to learn without being able to read notation.
Im a stereotypical guitarist that doesnt read music, so learning the piano has been a chore for me. So well done on an awesome memory; gives me motivation to press on.
@swamdono i was always impressed with guitarists that were really good with tabliture! but just think how awesome it would be if you were good with tabs/theory & notation haha! I hope piano isn't too much of a chore, its an amazing instrument just like guitar. learning notes way below/above the staff on the ledger lines does suck... it doesn't hurt to write some of those out!
Ah yes, not to imply that playing piano is a chore. I meant that it took a long while to learn a little bit. I usually look at the Synthesia versions of songs to see how to play.

I think that it must be your choice of piano music that bugs me. None that I listened to have given you any challenges at all. Might I sugest you try Chopin's Prelude for piano No. 15 in D flat major Op. 31. This piece demands so much feeling as your fingers caress the keys.
@5059493rh I have played a lot of Chopin in my time. But my channel here is not about showcasing technique, it is about playing music that means something to people, taking then back to their childhood, or just promoting the performance of game music here on youtube. A lot of game music may not present huge technical challenges to the performer, but it does not make it any less powerful.
@lara6683 Girl, I really love you for saying that (love in an "I admire you" way, not the "marry me" way). Even if it could be not the hardest music to play, it is music that has a meaning for you..
Can you play "Aria di Mezzo Carattere" from FFVI? I think is one of the most beautiful pieces that you could hear in a videogame =)
@lara6683 That was well done said! I think it would not fit into the "corporate behaviour" of your Youtube channel and as far as I can remember you said once that making music is also your profession and so it wouldn't be a problem to perform masterpieces which requests high skills in playing. So I want to say thank you for your effort of giving it that kind of music to us. I like classic music too but the power that I feel by listening to the ST of a game i played is much higher. THX
@lara6683 Lara, you are an awesome person, with awesome skill, playing awesome musics! Regardless of the technical difficulty of the songs, you're awesome! Thanks for the excellent channel, and please keep posting your videos!
Although your renditions of these songs are absolutely beautiful, this comment sealed the subscribe button for me :). Definitely one of god's angels here folks!
Also, great version of this track, easily one of my favourite and most beautiful pieces of video game music ever...
@5059493rh I've always thought that in a lot of cases, the critics are the ones who can talk about it but can't do it themselves. I'm given to wonder if that's the case with you. To put it more simply:
Do you understand *why* people play music in the first place?
I concur... Shame you cant just put it out there regardless as I would love to burn ALL of these to CD's to play in the car and transfer to iPod when running ^_^
You are truly talented and fast becoming an icon especially with all the Retro covers you have done on Games (Nintendo, Squaresoft/Enix to name a few) please PLEASE NEVER STOP what you do!! I implore you..
many of us listeners and potential players would deeply appreciate it if you would take the time and effort to transcribe your magnificent genius of a piece onto sheet music for us to enjoy.
I don't think you can understand how much a beautiful theme like "To Far Away Times" can be affecting when it's combined to your talent and your grace. I'll probably be crying if you were playing that right in front of me.
Like so many others, I would pay good money for studio-quality recordings of your work. You should look into Kickstarter(or something like it, since Kickstarter is US-only), you might be surprised how much people would give to make that a reality.
Do you also do covers for anime? If not you should do, there are plenty of awesome songs you could cover for such animes like Clannad, Kanon and Angel Beats.
Your really talented! Everytime I watch one of your videos it's hard NOT to like or favorite it. I can't stop favoriting your videos! :p You play so beautifully and awesomely! Thank you! :)
@lara6683 I like the idea of an CD too. There are ways to take care of the copyright laws, but that depends on the country you live in. Unfortunately I don't know, how this is handled in Australia. I really hope, that there is a way, that is suitable for you. Would definitely buy it :-)
@lara6683 You'd have to pay a fee to the copyright holders, but aside from that... oh wait, that's U.S. copyright law I'm thinking of. I don't know how Australian law differs. You should see about looking it up at least!
@lara6683 You may not be able to sell your covers, but you should check out OCRemix.com and get with all of the musicians there! They put out albums with remixes and covers of video game music for free. It might be something you'd find interesting! It would be awesome to see you work the people there!
@lara6683 Actually, you can, though you need to go through some legal stuff first with licensing. Daniel Tidwell does it with metal covers of the same type of awesome nostalgia-inducing music. He has almost the same number of subscribers as you (though significantly more upload views) and seems to do pretty well on sales. You might be able to contact him and get some advice on how to get started. His channel is metaldaniel03. Definitely include some pre-order bonuses if you do this.
Also maybe more interesting suggestion would be if you were to do "bonded by Clair" from Threads of Fate, I am convinced that "Demon Days" the song by the Gorillaz is in the same key or close enough that you could combine them. If you actually do this, you will become my personal hero. Not even kidding about that.
Please do Bonded By Claire from Threads of Fate!! It's such a good peoce. Plus, you'd be like the first person to do it too I think, cause I can't find it anywhere and you're awesome at this.
