The immigrant point is a common misconception. A study the Reason Foundation did found that immigrants in fact contribute more to the economy than they take out in the form of entitlement payments.

Who cares if illegal aliens give back to "the economy" a little more than they take out.

Except that the quality of life goes to the toilet with gangs, crime, blight, economic flight. California was ruined by illegal immigrants, their artificial inflation of rents and indirectly home values. Combine this with the subprime lending that was targeted to these low income illegals and you have the nexus of the problem. But I don't blame the illegals for more than their disregard for laws. The real villians were contractors and landlords. Especially in construction. String THEM all up :(

As for the politicians in the video, they're the members of the CA legislature that made a written promise to the people of CA that they would vote against any and all attempts to raise taxes and then broke that promise this session.

Without their aid, Democrats would have been unable to raise taxes and thus further weaken the economy.

Such a shame, California was once such a wonderful place to be, even 20 years ago it was the place to make it big. Now people are leaving in droves, why? because the liberal loons have ran that state into the ground. Everythings so damn expensive there.
