The guitar is a Fat Lady 2A with a solid spruce top and solid QLD maple back & sides. A really nice guitar with a sound from a traditional dreadnought with a Cole Clark touch.
To generalize characteristics can be somewhat misleading as the sound of an individual instrument is depending on the sum of its parts.
The top is probably the part that is most important for the sound.
Anyway some tendencies can be noticed. The QLD maple is pretty close to mahogany, but a little less mellow. An excellent tonewood that seems to give the instrument a clear voice.
Rosewood is much used over the years and seems to give a little more sweetness to the sound.
niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

He's playing first "Ain't no grave" then a Norwegian hymn tune, "Herre Gud, ditt dyre navn og Ære".

Hey Gonnnzo,
If you wanna go inbetween, maybe Blackwood is the path to travel???
Just like OriginalMonster advices, hands on experience would be best though...
Is there a music shop that sell CC close to where you live?
