  • Come to think of it, isn't this kind of like that one scene in the first or second Xenogears where Albedo almost turns "insane" because Rubedo let go of his hand, and the weird Udoo thing came at him? Hm...

  • @whoo689

Xenosaga tried to mirror Xenogears' story so there are a LOT of parallels to make between the 2 games.

  • Is that power fei´s last deatblow? --YAMIKEI--

  • FF VII aint got shit on Xenogears.Even if story was mal-translated, the second disc story speed up due to budget cuts. It was still a much better subject. This game touched on so many subjects to do with Psychology (Freudian/Jung pychoanalysis), spiritualism (reincarnation), Philosophy( Nietzsche in particular), Religion, and so forth. Same team that made Chrono Trigger brought us this amazing rpg.

  • @wiseblue1989 EXTREME SPOILER @wiseblue1989 EXTREME SPOILER ALERT!!!... in the intro just before the captain initiates the self destruct sequence the words "You shall be as Gods" rolls down the bridges monitors over and over, this is also scripture, it is what satan told Eve to convince them to eat the fruit, which would mean this game was actually a metaphor about satan (lucifer) creating a Genesis of his own on a new planet which would explain why Miang was evil.

  • @wiseblue1989 sry it took a year to reply lol, but to answer your questions, first of all if by "things" you mean what was coming out of the ship that was the Zohars "will" using the ship as a weapon against itself from what I understood and the Adam & Eve style Genesis on the new planet was the Zohars intention in this, as for the phrase on the screen, it is scripture, this is GOD speaking to John in Revelation 22:12 of the Bible.

  • If this series was finished properly the way Takahashi had it visioned, it would of overruled Final Fantasy as my favorite video game series, without a doubt. In fact, if this game had not suffered budget cuts thus affecting the presentation (*ahem* disk 2), along with other problems I had with the game, Final Fantasy VII would no longer be my favorite video game. Such GREAT potential never being fully realized (same goes with Xenosaga). Damn you, Square. Damn you.

  • has anyone noticed, the power fei in unleashing here is actually his very last deathblow in the game. Yamikei, was it?

  • Just so some of you know, Miang possessed Karen's body during Fei's childhood and subjected him to a bunch of torture experiments to unleash Id within him. It was only then at the last few moments of Karen's life was when she was really "Karen" and not "Miang" (judging from the facial expressions).

All women in the Xenogears world carry a certain gene that allows "Miang" to possess their body since humanity's creation 10,000 years ago in the Eldridge crash.

  • Yes it is fee's final move

  • Fei has the most messed up and sad past that I have seen in a video game character.

  • Miang unleashes Fei's power as the contact, and Grahf is destroyed, so forced to merge with Kahn, then for a moment Karen regains control over his body, and saves Fei.

That scene is one of the best and most important to the whole game. Thanks for uploading

  • I watched this while listening to XG music... chilling

  • so he killed his mother, he felt fear and cocky at the same time? the hell

  • best game ever!

  • Damn... It´s been several years since I finished XG. It would be wise to revisit this amazing wok once more.

Great to hear that people are going through this excellent story for the first time these days. It´s a real challenge, and a very though script...

  • i played this game a month ago, the story is really cool, hey am i wrong or did fei used yamikei in the video?? his last ability'??

  • @indarkness123 i think he's just "power-up" like those saiyans in DBs

  • @indarkness123 I believe this blast was just his Chi blast

  • @epiphysis

I doubt that. Fei was capable of producing his Chi blast at the beginning of the game but nothing was ever said about it. If it were something like THIS Fei would likely know from the start that there's something different about him.

At some time prior to being delivered to Lahan Fei single handedly destroyed the continent of Elru (earning him the name "Demon of Elru"). So it's probably some of THAT power being seen here on a much smaller scale.

  • 'Tis a shame that they weren't able to make the full epic like they wanted.

  • Makaveli696- It was no mistranslation (though cocaineuk87 did misinterpret what was said). Takahashi didn't say that the series weren't connected AT ALL, but as you yourself said, the original plan was essentially to complete the Xenosaga (for lack of better term) and remake the original game (more specifically, the second half), but those plans fell apart. Due to budget cuts and staff leave, Takahashi labeled Xenosaga as an AU (Alternate Universe) rather than an actual prequel to Xenogears.

  • Ironic. After all the torture, Fei tries to kill himself. The person responsible for all the torture sacrificies herself to save her son. And so ID is born. I don't think they will ever create a game as deep or disturbing as this one. As someone who loves Final Fantasy 7, I realize that both Cloud Strife and Sephiroth were born here in this game. We most likely will never see games like this again. I mourn for SquareSoft.

  • And so Id is born and also one of the most amazing and perfect secrets a game ever had to show at it's end. You're completely right. Never ever the industry saw a so much complex story like this one and Final Fantasy VII and so much complex characters, where Fei sits at the top. Maybe, the last great story ever told at videogames was the one from the Legacy of Kain series. Jesus Christ, we all mourn for Squaresoft. Good old days.

  • @Irius I think there is an attitude that 0ne must adopt when playing these games, especially when comparing the RPG's of Square Soft, in the sense that it is all linked together somehow, threw basic means, where as each RPG is unique in its setting, place, and time along with its host of unique and engaging characters. Which bring forth Style to the game.

Now Fie "dose" sit at the top, right above Cloud. Are the game developers alluding to attitudes in the spirit world? Lol thats what me thinks

  • @mikesmithsupersaiyan let's me mourn too...(5 minutes silence)...

  • This was my favorite animation in the game. In 43 seconds so much of Fei was explained (and hence, the game).

  • the truth behind fei's past and how ID was born..

    if i remember correctly

  • Yeah but Xenogears and Xenosaga AREN'T connected in any way. The series' creator said so himself.

  • That is an entirely false statement and the creator NEVER said such a thing, that was probably a mistranslation by fault of a magazine or website editor, the original plan for Xenosaga was to be all 6 parts and yes Xenogears is part 5, NOT 4. To include the remake of Xenogears, but they couldnt get the rights to part 5 back from Squaresoft (SquareEnix), if you belive they are not linked in any way than you obviously haven't played them all, and probably didnt play any because of this lie...

  • I can prove right now that they are 100% linked and Xenosaga 3 is almost a direct prequel to Xenogears, SPOILER ALERT!!! In Xenosaga 3, the last thing you see before the credits is the original Abel/Fei/Lacan as a child, as he was on the Elderich ship and came in "Contact" with the original Zohar, Also you find out that the soul inside Kos-mos was that of Mary Magdeline, in Xenogears the piece of the ship that landed on that planet had "Fei" and "Elly" on it as well as the Zohar...

  • ~SPOILER ALERT!!!~ Somehow in the ship Mary Magdeline's soul transfered to the body of "Elly" which was in suspended animation in that tube, creating Mother/Miang which you see on the beach at the beggining of Xenogears also, this was probably caused by the will of the Zohar just like the virus that destroyed the ship, once on this planet "Fei" and "Mother" essentially became the new Adam and Eve and populated the new planet with Humans

  • You are soooooooo right!!!

  • @Makaveli696 oh,yeah,if you know alot, you could tell me what are those things as the beginning of xeno gears(i mean the intro)

and why was the lines"we are alpha and omega, the beginning and the end,the first and the last ?

    i know about omega,but alpha ?

And dosen't that line refer to the circle of life in Xenosagas

  • @wiseblue1989 Let me ask you a question to prove your not a fool, and that you actually understand the underlining purpose of Xenogears. who created the universe? Was it.. Xenosaga? Xenogears? Are there answers to this in the video games? Can there even be an answer? Or was it something else.

Hint: go out in nature, with a copy of xenosaga in hand, walk around until your far away from people.. trip mushrooms... ???? youll find your answer.

    Theta Kappa Sigma

  • Technically this is Xenogears episode 5. And it's not connected to Xenosaga at all, except stylistically (ie: names, art style, and themes, but not story)

  • I was 14 when I played this and didnt undertand half of it. What did this scene represent?

  • Destroyer of God, indeed.

  • That was the moment that ID was Born...

  • I love this part!
