Randy and Jake are my two favorite Ozzy solo era guitarists. Zakk is dead last because of the pinch note happy playing. I'm not saying he isn't talented,he is, he is just not my cup o tea.

I NEVER heard Ozzy say Jake was the best. jake could shred, no doubt. But he had no where NEAR the song writing OR musical knowledge of Randy OR Zakk. Jake was all flash, nothing more.
Dude im sorry but i think you are completly wrong. To me all zakk wylde does is just chicken pick and play pentatonic scales, while on the other hand jake e lee does everything. And his solos are very melodic.

My only objection to that is Ozzy wasn't the most productive during this period and Jake did a lot of the writing for those two albums. Jake's great, no doubt. I'm just personally not a big fan. I love Randy no doubt. And I love Zakk for his chops and attitude and stage presence. Jake always kinda slipped under the radar for me. I still enjoy those two albums from time to time. Just not my favorites.

Hey man, if it sounds good it sounds good.. don't matter what scales you play! its easy to shred those 3 note per string patterns found in the 7 note scales.. its a hell of a lot harder to just play off the pentatonic and shred just as much. Plus (moving away from the "shred" side of things) the pentatonic notes are usually the strongest and mst potent, the rest are just for a little flavour here and there.. which im sure Zakk knows.

There's a spare pick under the guard. Playing-wise, he's using bends and relatively basic legato techniques. I think you might just be noticing his picking technique.
umm sorry to say randy died like a couple yrs before this album was even out bark at the moon is a jake e lee original and yahh he kicks wyldes cover of it on tour today noone can hit those notes like him but even as guitar king u already mustve known tht....
