My favourite thing about the ending (other the way Izzie smiles at George and the sheer amazingness in general) was that Katherine Heigl and TR Knight are best friends and had such realism.

I really have to disagree with that, because the entire episode 1 and 2 was staging days of grief, where everyone finally became in touch with the emotions and came to the realization of his death and how much it hurt to lose him. Many of the the next episodes after his death is still based around the loss of George O'mally and the toll it takes on the rest of the hospital staff.
