This is absolutely unbelievable! Did the man not hear Sotomayor when she testified? Did he not hear how she backed away from all her writings to represent herself as something that she clearly is not? Did it not matter to him that she was not truthful in her testimony? Does being a "wise Latina" and giving a falsified story of rags to riches trump everything else? I guess that having he chance to confirm the first Latina outweighs judicial activism and ignoring the rule of stare decisis.
The job of SCOTUS is to judge that legislation is constitutional. How did she convince you Senator Warner? Maybe I hear what you did so please share how you think she will do the job she is supposed to do. It is a dangerous predicament for our country if we allow the breakdown of our checks and balances from SCOTUS legislating from the bench or congressment owing their allegiance to the White House rather than the people they represent.
