Does exist any resemblance between Aegean Macedonians and those who peopled the regions in eastern side of Republic of Macedonia. I think most of them felt themselves as Bulgarians or as Serbs than Macedonians. These people calling themselves "Macedonians", use a Slavolic dialect, a mixture of Bulgarian and Serbian. Slavs came to the Balkans in the 7th century, so how can they be part of the Ancient Macedonian history?
Also, since you use history as a fact, check out all Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman maps of South-Eastern Europe. The region of Macedonia was always considered what today is Northern Greece and a very small part of Bulgaria and FYROM (up to Veles). Skopje was never part of that region...
And if you read the pre-WWII history, this region, under the Kingdom of Serbia and Montenegro was called VARDARSKA (i.e. area around river Vardar). So who's telling the truth now???

What linkage do these people in the 20th century have to an ancient macedonian culture that existed around 300 BC and which, following the death of Alexander the Great lead to the birth of the Hellenstic Period and the Hellenstic Kingdoms - such as for example, Alexandria and Antioch to name but 2. To Worldfrommyeyes: Be that as it may, please explain to me the Andronikos (famous archaeologist) findings in Vergina (region of Central Macedonia, Greece). These findings are available for everyone to see at the Musea of Thessaloniki and Vergina and have ancient GREEK insciptions on them.

Also, since you use history as a fact, check out all Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman maps of South-Eastern Europe. The region of Macedonia was always considered what today is Northern Greece and a very small part of Bulgaria and FYROM (up to Veles). Skopje was never part of that region...

If you speak maceodnian language and other in th eregion such as serbian, croatian, bosnian etc or maybe if you compare slovak and check language you will see that the diferences between the bualgraina and maceodnin are 10 tiems larger that between these languages mention above. But what we do not accept is the term 'Macedonian' for the minority. They are Slavs who willingly stayed here after 1946-49 civil war (pro-Americans vs. pro-Communists). They are Greek citizens with a Slavic idiom.
