@bingin15 either get something older/used (with a 12" speaker and with 75+ watts so you can jam with drums...maybe an older Peavey Bandit...) or maybe just a really nice small/portable/battery (and/or AC w/adapter) style amp like the Roland Cube or Vox DA-5's...
@bingin15 It was a great guitar...it had that natural resonance that I love (I choose almost all of my guitars before I ever plug them in) and it still had that classic Fender twang...somehow even with humbuckers...
@hyunmyers77 Thomastik Plectrum's...I'm a dealer for them now...they saw a few of my videos where I was ranting about them...I'm an absolute fanatic for them.
@hyunmyers77 uh...Thomastik Plectrums is the kind of strings...not a "pick"...they go 11-14-19-26-36-50 and is quite a combination of materials...they last forever (practically...sometimes a year or more for me) and feel and sound great (to my ears anyways).
@DavidRourke15 Yes...I have a better video that shows the 11 adjustment holes on it...not just lefty, but lots of angle choices too...click on my channel page and that video plays automatically at the moment (I may change it to a more jamming one soon though so just search my videos for Mbrace and Ovation and it should come up) and while you are there send me a note if you want one...I give the best prices directly through my YouTube videos...
I really love this! How would you rate the Tele? What do you think of the pickups? I like a fat tone, would this guitar suit that? Great videos, Really like them!
@BoatmanCalling Thanks for the kind words...I loved this Tele (I like lots of different Tele's) but I don't really think it's going to get you a real fat sound...the Fender Humbucker's sounded good, but not real fat...they still retain that infamous Fender twang...switching the pickups out for something better could help, but I think you would do better with a solid body model (maybe put a humbucker or mini humbucker in the neck position the '69 Mahogany model) if you want a really fat tone.
@greengtrs Hi, Thats what I was thinking of doing. But putting maybe a minni humbucker between the 2 standered pickups on a telecaster. Have a 5 way pickup switch going; Hum. Hum & Neck, Neck, Neck & Bridge, Bridge. That way I can still have that classic Tele sound with the added Humbucker. Thanks for the tip. I'll check out that '69 mahogany!
@BoatmanCalling There are so many cool wiring options...add a mini toggle or maybe some push pull pots and you can get 7 sounds (standard strat switching, all on and neck and bridge)...good luck and have fun!
Great pickin man! i was wondering if this guitar would be good enough to play lead for Johnny cash style? my name is sean and i wish to know cause i LOVE these things!
Had one, sold it, couldn't get the sound I wanted, but then I was a brand new player, not knowing how to work the amp, what kind of amp worked the best, etc. Just acquired another one to go along with the strats, s-500, tele's I already since that fatal day I sold the first one. Love playing guitar as well, including my acoustics. I prefer the Taylor brands as well for worship. I do own two Epiphones which I also love. Never seems enough time in a day to play. Very nice video. Thanks..
@hunnia08 Thanks so much...all glory goes to God for blessing me with the gift of "guitarist/musician/ears/ideas/etc."...I sure do love to play! Thanks for watching!
great demo, man.. nice picking as well. gonna have to dust mine off now, i think, heh. and i'm definitely considering the possibilities of one of those Boss loop stations. all the best, bub.
hello man, congratulations for the video , excuse me i have a question, whats is the model of your suport or base of acoustic guitar? i need one f these please answer me , thanks , i'm Sebastian Flores from Aragorn thanks again
@fitoflores1 Hi Sebastian...it's called an Mbrace and I am a dealer for them (there is a more info section above...click on the arrows under the video). I'll send you a message to your channel...reply back if you want one. Thanks!
Thanks! It's a Boss RC-20XL Loop Station...one of the best spent $250ish (USD) I ever invested in myself...tons of fun and I haven't really scratched the surface of it's full potential yet...I'll be doing more and more "looping" demos as time permits...but search the keywords "greengtrs" and "looping" and you'll see a bunch I've already posted (close to 40 now)...the "Thanksgiving" one was a good experiment to see how much or how many "overdubs" I could get going...
what kind of effect do you use between the amp and the tele ? the sound is louder than a standart tele !!! i think it may be a good guitar to "ad "to my strat , instead of buying a les paul (to expansive !!!!!!!!!)
Thanks! There were no effects pedals used...just the footswitch for the amp to change channels...from clean to dirty. They are really nice and different enough from a Strat but not really like a Les Paul...
That's a tough one as there are so many Fender's I like. My favorite body though is a Strat body with the body contouring...beveled for the arm and belly...and I like the range of a Strat with the "in between" or 2 pickups at once sounds. What sounds are you going after and what is your budget...also is there a look you like? Then when you narrow it down there are more choices...Standard, Deluxe, Re-issue, even Custom Shop...all with different sounds and feel to them.
Well actually i love the look of the tele 72 deluxe, and i like the semi hollow body sound ,so i assume the 72 thinline is a good guitar. however i have played very few fenders, so i have no much idea about that guitars.tell me , why does the prices change so much between fender guitars? the appereance of almost all fender guitars is the same
Where they are made (or assembled) affects the price big time...it will be subtle stuff and each improvement (or better quality components) drives the price up higher.
Thanks! It's one of my originals...actually only one small part but probably influenced by David Gilmour...maybe a little Robin Trower...I've got so many influences it would be tough to say for sure.
Thanks! I only have a few personal guitars...these are almost all owned by my business (I buy/sell mainly used guitars and basses...the Mbrace stands and some strings as wel). The only one I own in this video is the Taylor and for what it's worth, very few of these guitars are around anymore...it's constantly changing.
Probably not too similar except for the neck pickup setting as they both have a humbucker in the neck...but the thinline body will make it sound different even there and the bridge pickup being a single coil will sound drastically different.
David Gilmour (and Pink Floyd in general) had a big influence on me...it wasn't intentional, this idea was actually longer but I messed up on the loop and cut it short and just rolled with it...but David's influence is in there pretty deep, so it comes out now and again. Thanks for watching!
hey nice playing there real beautiful but if u wanna get from a electric to acoustic sound real easy u should check out the epiphone les paul ultra 2 its got a littel nano electro accostic guitar pick up right on the very last fret so u can play through the normal humbuckers and get the use all les paul ballsy tone or switch to the nano pick up for real soft acoustic sounds and what's real cool is u can combine the 2 together
I've actually got a Parker P-36 (which does what you are talking about) but I prefer playing an acoustic for my acoustic sounds (they sound the best..more natural) and you can't get the drumming sound on those other guitars.
thats the same with me. most time i dont know what im playing when im jamming and i forget to write riffs down lol. im doing some workm on my mexi tele ameri pots pickups samarian cobalt pups with a new bridge ashtry style basically mnodding to a 63 tele
They are called Mbrace stands/holders and I'm one of their dealers. I've been using them for over a year or so and started selling them when the questions started pouring in. I put some purchase info in the "more info" section. I've got the lowest price in the US and can ship world wide. I'll be doing a cool video soon with 2 of them...one for my Taylor, and one for my Ibanez Acoustic bass which I'll loop (both), and I'll jam with an electric (or something) over that. Click the More Info link...
Great way to demo your equipment. That loop station is awesome. After seeing this, I'm looking to buy one. Do you know how well the Boss RC-2 works? Is that 712 custom? I'm not used to seeing the inlay like that on a 712.
Thanks! I set it low to sell it fast...I doubt it will last more than a week or so...you never know, but it is a great deal and as clean as a used one could possibly be...and more importantly, sounds great!
thats quite the collection of guitars and amps u got there buddy. im 17 and i want a more poison 80's rock sounding guitar. right now i have a gibson mahogany les paul. what do u think i should get? like an ibanez or jackson or something? by the way i have a fender 212 non tube 100w amp
