i downloaded audacity so could record off of the internet but on 1.3.9 i dont know how to do it, everytime i click record it only records from my microphone :| help?

well first unplug your microphone! then right click on the volume icon on the bottom right hand corner of your screen (where the time is) and click on recording devices then on the pop up screen, right click the stereo mix icon and click enable now you should be able to record from youtube!! if i forgot somethin just ask me on my youtube account

I have 1.3 beta

but even when I install the LAME encoder exactly as you've done, it will not let me export to MP3

I've googled the shit out of this problem. somebody please PM me!

click edit>preferences>libraries(on the left)

under mp3 export library click "locate...", browse to the directory where you installed LAME (the default is "C:\Program Files\Lame for Audacity" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lame for Audacity" for 64-bit) and open lame_enc.dll.

Click OK and click OK again, and It should be set up

select the track, click effects>delay and set the decay amount to 1.0, the delay time to 0.01, and the number of echoes to 30

Audacity doesn't know where to find the microphone

Go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Devices tab on the left.

Under the 'Recording' section, make sure that the microphone you want to use is selected.

If there is no microphone availible, then either you don't have mic or something's screwed up with your drivers.
