  • @MsQuietgirly - I can think of a few reasons why they would, some being very sinister, but overall, most probably it is because the movie had to sell; even the Ten Commandments doesn't have scripture perfectly portrayed. The movie wanted Pharaoh and Moses to have a bond so that the emotional effect of the movie was more vivid; I assume.

  • The only thing I don't like about this movie is how Aaron seems to be a coward. Aaron was a valiant man. The whole feminist thing I can tolerate, but they shouldn't have turned one of Scripture's better people into some sniveling man with no backbone in favor of advocating a more gender neutral and humanistic mood for the movie... if what I'm saying makes sense.

  • holding a sword while having a nightmare. great combo

  • Seti sounds like he's trying to convince himself that he did the right thing just as much as he's trying to convince Moses.

  • I looked up the voice actors for this movie. Moses-Val Kilmer Seti- Patrick Stewart Ramses- Ralph Fiennes Tzipporah- Michelle Pfeiffer Miriam- Sandra Bullock Aaron- Jeff Goldblum Jethro- Danny Glover Hotep- Steve Martin Huy- Martin Short Val Kilmer can sing! Mind Blown.
  • @Angelofeternity4 That's not Val Kilmer singing, that's Amick Byram. There was a separate singing voice for several characters.

  • @starcastically Indeed, you are right! I didn't realize it till after I posted that comment. They matched Val's and Amick's voices really well I think. It sounds like it could possibly be Val Kilmer singing. Amazing. :) I love Amick Byram's voice.

  • I don't know what it is, but for some reason, in this movie Sandra Bullock's voice seems way higher than it should be.

  • @StellarStratus That's because it's Minnie Driver.

  • LOVE the mom! Gorgeous voice, beautiful character.

  • whew this story makes my stomach turn, can Disney make movies for all the bible stories? Jonah, Cain and Abel, Noah?

  • @teddy12290 Um this is Dream Works Not Disney just saying..

  • @teddy12290 Dream Works

  • the ending is freaky!!!! lols. god had to give him sucha freaky dream. soo sad??

  • @ANN4BELLZ9898 well not the ending but his dream

  • HELP!!! I CAN'T BREATH!!!!

    Don't look at the nightmare!!!

    Call 911!

  • It's sad thinking how much the mom and brother loved him

  • His dream reminds me of South Park XD

  • MOSES GOT OWNED BY HIS SISTER!

  • his mom looks so young for pharaoh i mean look at her she looks twenty and the dad freakin 70!

  • @pokemonfan43v3a Yeah don't know why they put it like that. His adoptive mom was actually the pharaoh's daughter so idk why they made it seem like she's the wife *shrug*

  • @MsQuietgirly Even Though It Is Not In This Movie, She could have been the daughter of the PHAraoh who ordered the killing.

  • @chloee1702 Moses didn't kill an enemy, he killed and Egyptian, a guy that worked for Pharaoh, Moses father figure. Regardless of who is killed it's a natural reaction for anyone to be frightened of a murderer. If Moses would kill a supposed Ali, wouldn't you expect the Israelites to be frightened they would be killed as well?

  • I am always confused watching this film when moses kills the eygptian. because when he turns around to see miriam all the jews step back like he is going to kill them but he killed an enemy not one of them. why was it such a crime?!!!!

  • @Chloee1702 well to them he's a Prince

  • he has a very creepy and acruerit dream and i've been wondering, were in the heck did pharorah come from? i mean he just comes out of the shodows like nobodies bussnes i mean creepy much

  • that part where pharoah says "they were only slaves" gives me CHILLS. so horrible

  • he had 2 do what GOD told him, and he did keeping GOD'S command more important than any factor even family, now that is what i call faith.

  • @Msquietgirly thats true, but they have to adapt it a bit for movies

  • I don't understand why the movie put Moses' adoptive mother as the pharaoh's wife. Scripture says she was the pharaoh's daughter. And plus, his real mother took care of him for 3 years when he was found because since pharaoh's daughter didn't have any kids, the real mother was able to care (nurture) for him. Just saying.

  • @MsQuietgirly Because movies don't do exactly as the original story of what they're about says.

  • my daugter is 9 and she dosen't find his dream scary!

  • his dream fucking scared me AS HELL and still do

  • I feel bad for his mother, she just loved her son.

  • moses: "you saw what happened! i just killed a man!

rameses: "we can take care of that!"

hahahahah... dont know y just makes me laugh

  • I still wonder where to get those kinds of dogs.. O.O What breed are they?

  • @thecherrimtree12 There's two, there's the pharaoh hound or the ibizan hound. I don't think they're black though like they're shown there, they're usually reddish brown with some white markings o.o

  • Dude, you can so hear Voldemort in Rameses XD <3

  • Wow, the music in the opening of this part is sublime.

  • why does everybody like touching Moses?

  • @jesseoldguyisback Because he is so hot ... lol idk. I prefer Rameses myself.

  • @adrianloveslucius he must be so hot that his family wonna try incest wit him. because his sissters, brothers, and everything wonna touch him!

  • i think its sad how rameses just lost his best friend and brother, when he did not do anything at all. and then they hate each other later.

  • Would Moses have even been a prince? I mean, Pharoahs typically had more than 50 biological children that were ranked according to gender and favorite wives...Moses would have been incredibly low on the food chain..does anyone know which Pharaoh was reigning during the Exodus? (I'm really interested in the history about this..)

  • @brttnyjoh rameses's father 's name was seti, then next came rameses I II and III

  • what if he crashed into a wall at 4:50

    it would have bean funny

Prince: ow my head! umm.... wich way is the exit? hehe

    Pharaoh:that way.

Prince: oh thanks (shakes his no and runs)

    lol

  • who here saw this some where else and didnt see the whole thing but wanted to see it here?

  • i thought we were supposed to be enjoying the movie here, not starting a flame war...

  • How did he get from all the way down there to all the way up there in 5 seconds? O.o

  • The Egyptians have incredibly long necks..

  • everyone needs to stop fighting about religion. this is a movie, enjoy it.

  • Did he really have to push him? I mean, he is the prince. im pretty sure that guy would have stopped (for at least the moment) if he just held back that guys whipping hand and told him to stop. ya, he'd be confused for sure, but he still would have stopped. :/

  • @KLMP14 He didn't push him. He jumped on top of him and the guy fell off. It was an accident.

  • This part scared my as a kid.

  • The ending of this clip was sad :(

  • @PlayBeyondNews they thought he was a gift from the gods

  • The drama ... it's killing me :c The part where Moses leaves just breaks my heart, hearing his "brother" cry out his name.

  • wow please don't start a flame war here. we get it chrsitainity is a touchy subject for those who don't have a belief system.

  • Do you think you are a true Christian?

  • Let me ask you all this, are you Christian?

  • Fuck ya hoo hat this muvee

  • In the Bible, Moses beat the dude to death with a rock. Makes for a much different character.

  • can you imagine how hard it must've of been for moses to go from living the best life possible back then to an unglamorous life in the dessert leading thousands of people, all because God told him to and he had absolute faith in Him. i hope that my faith can be as strong.

  • what year was this film made? I'm guessing mid to late 90s, early noughties, but does anyone know the actual year?

  • @zoochie1 I want to say 2001

  • i love this movie

  • I feel bad for Rameses...he is losing his brother and best friend, after all

  • @kaylakaml so do i. moses is always slapping him around, poor guy

  • @kaylakaml and don't forget, he also lost his son

  • @kaylakaml I agree. Rameses is supposed to be this big huge villain, being cruel and evil and what not, but I LOVE the way he's portrayed in this movie. You can just tell that he wants to be accepted by his father and loved by not only his mother, but everyone. He's so vunerable. And when Moses says goodbye to him, I can't help but get teary-eyed. He's loosing not only his brother, but his absolute best friend, the one who was there for him when no one else was. And in a way, he's...

  • @AmieeDawnxoxo saying goodbye to his childhood AND the precious childhood/relationship he had with Moses. You can totally see the heartbreak and sadness in his face when he's begginh Moses to stay. It's so sad. :(

  • His dream scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

  • @Golddoesnotglitter the dream still scares the crap out of me. and i am 14

  • @Golddoesnotglitter i was in the 3rd grade when i first saw this movie. i'm now 21 and still scared.

  • can anyone explain this : if jesus/god was the first thing on earth and dinosaurs were the first animals on earth and if there wasnt any people before the dinosaurs or during that time how was jesus/god the first thing on earth???? someone please answer i have had this question since i was a little kid and no one seems to have an answer

  • @gleefan813

My God you are an idiot.

  • @gleefan813 God created the earth. he was the first one 'on' the earth because he was the one who created it by speaking it into being. He was here before there were animals/dinosaurs, because he is omniscient: everywhere at once, in both the past, the present and the future.

  • @gleefan813 God was there before there was anything. all there was before everything was created was nothing but darkness

  • @porterlily111 and where did God come from?

  • @JessicaChen5 my teacher said his existance is higher than a mere humans understanding and very hard for a human mind to understand and that since hes god he's just there

  • @BeautyBecca1 a mystery of life in other words

  • @JessicaChen5 God didn't come from anywhere, He never started and He'll never end

  • @gleefan813 God is not a person, he's God. He created everything. Jesus is God's son (he's also God himself, but thats hard to explain) and he didn't come around till millions of years later

  • @gleefan813 is simple actually the bible says that god created the earth in 7 days and animals came first the bible didnt mean acctual days but more like periods of time

  • @gleefan813 first, god isn't on earth. also, god isn't an animal. he was incarnated into a human to save us from our sins, though, but that was after dinosaurs. also, most Christians don't believe the Bible word for word so the Adam and Eve story might not be 100% accurate. Many religions use storytelling to teach important lessons, and the Creation story is kind of like that.

  • @gleefan813 God is really a dinosaur

  • Omg I had a nightmare from the dream

  • wowww i had forgotten about that wall dream.. that gave me massive goose bumps when i was a kid.. i loved it.. i wonder why? especially with all the horrible murder Dx

  • T^T

  • the queen is more lovely than the one in joseph

  • it is writtin in quraan that the reason why pharo ordered to kill every baby boy WAS coz he had a dream that one day a boy will grow up and kill him , but he was'nt very lucky coz the river lead moses to him ;) and moses was the reason for his death

  • i love moses queen mother. she is lovely

  • oh nvm,my question I understand now! Sorry lol I love this movie though :)

  • I am a bit confused, does anyone know why Egypt was killing all the babies?

  • @HitomiSusuki1 more or less to try to end the beliefs of the Jewish culture. They saw them as low class and decided to destroy them

  • @runnerboy081 Oh thank you :)

  • @HitomiSusuki1 i am pretty sure in the bible the Pharaoh may have done it in order to control the slave population and it was male children only

  • @fleurgi Thank you :3

  • @HitomiSusuki1 they feared that the were going to rise against them. so they cut out a generation.

  • @Amyjay1059 exactly

  • @HitomiSusuki1 B/c Pharaoh feared the Herbrews would fight for their freedom. Therefore Pharaoh ordered all the baby boys be killed.

  • so much manual labour, u think jews wouldve dealt with everything else history handed them a little better

  • @DukeofBerkshire It's not like they're the same people. The Jews that I think you're talking about(The Holocaust) weren't in Egypt, obviously, but you already knew that. (I'm not trying to insult you, please don't take it the wrong way)

  • The instrumentals in the first part are absolutely beautiful.

  • As a kid, I thought it was weird to have naked babies carved in your wall. Is it weird that now that I'm older, I understand why there are naked babies carved in the palace of the king?

  • @sefon123123 yes its true. it says it the Torah (bible) that they grew bigger and stronger so pharaoh was afraid of them taking over.

  • is it true that the herews were forced into slavrey because the egyptians feared they would rise to over power them, thus they opresses them and killed their male babies to weaken them.

  • heres what moses is think: LAST TIME I FALL ASLEEP NEXT TO A HIROGLYPHICS PODIUM!

  • Can you imagine if this was a Walt Disney production??? ¬.¬

  • @gleefan813 Jesus was a Jew by blood and didnt he say all who believe in him will not parish but have eternal life? Just cause he was what this world calls a Jew doesn't mean he wants you to be Jewish, he is the son of our living God don't ever turn away from him, he died the worst death ever so that we didn't have to die

  • press 3 repeatedly..

  • his brother loves him so much

  • Egyptian Mythology is difficult to understand, but Greek Mythology is pretty easy.

  • Anyone else creeped out when the Pharaoh said "Oh my son, they were only slave". Man that is a scary Partick Stewart.

  • This movie is violent O:

  • this is such a good portrayal of the story and when Moses gets refused by his "brother" its just like those soap operas!

  • i wasn't that drunk! 9:47

  • This movie makes me want to get my ass to the peace corps already

  • anyone ele hav problems at the end of each part with the audio?

  • I'm not racist or anything but it seems like no one likes Jews, this slavery and WW2, damn Jews just keep going through the worst things. XD

  • @blazzered2 They are not the only ones

  • 3:51 Why doesnt the fire burn out?

  • @Ilovedisneymoviesfyi because it's an animated movie

  • I thought this part of the movie was so creative with the wall's paintings. o.o

  • Comment removed

  • i cant belive my sunday school teacher let me watch this

  • Rad bromance <33

  • the part at 1:33 use to freak me out when i was really little now it really doesn't bother me

  • I always thought that Rameses was really hott xD

  • @mrsnickjonas12 my mom said the guy who voiced him, Ralph Fiennes, was really handsome when he was young

  • I like how one of the top comments is about real world issues, and the other is about pixels attacking.

  • @AHidingSpotForRaffy cause it shows some ppl wanna watch this for fun to

  • Oh man! What a dream that was! It was like deja vu or something. Him seeing what happened when he was a baby in a dream told to him by his biological sibling only a few hours before he fell asleep.

  • Such a beautiful song. We all need to coexist it's the only way. Together we stand, divided we fall.

  • question but how can moses remeber what happen when he was baby.

  • @naruto39760 cause it's a movie

  • Inception: when you die in your dreams you wake up.

  • Man, when Moses was dreaming and was running away from the Egyptian soldiers, fell and the water turned red and you see the babies? God that used to scare me SO much when I was little ! I think the music really contributed to that too... xD the sudden HORRIFIC chords....

I knew what was going on then but its really sad thinking back now ... poor babies :c

  • I used to be SOOOOO afraid of this film. Now that i'm older, I actually understand the context of which they're talking about.

  • @musicismyhappiness1 Omg. I thought I was the only one. This movie scared me when I was younger too. Lol. It's so sad. :'(

  • At this point this movie is out of date. They have proved that the ones building the pyramids were free people who were doing it willingly. I always remember that when watching this. I love the movie anyway. It is such a good movie.

  • Comment removed

  • @mrspeachie2011 The pyramids were supposedly built before the Israelites were even slaves, so they couldn't have built them regardless.

  • I never guessed my Jewish-looking brother was adopted!

  • "The pseudohistory of ancient Egypt is disrespectful to both Jews and Egyptians. It depicts the Jews as helpless slaves whose only contribution was sweat and broken backs, when in fact the earliest Jewish immigrants were respected allies to the Pharaoh and provided Egypt with a valuable service of both trade and defense."

For all those complaining about the Egyptians being such horrible people.

  • Oh you spelled believe wrong, Fail!

    Lol

Oh I know he wanted to better the world, for that I give him a lot of respect. I admire his forgiveness and ability to let out, he was a kind human being. I don't need to read the bible to know that.

    Now do I?

  • I'm tired Of all you people who go to church to ask forgiveness, why should you be forgiven if you will repeat the mistake and not be responsible for your effect?

Religion can be so beautiful yet so full of blood, thus darkness.

I still enjoy the way it keeps some people from being worst.

  • @sesshoumarukagome um well Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins, and God said that if we beleive - all we have to do is ask to be forgiven. So- um yeah; read your Bible

  • We are god..its not a single entity ..all things that vibrate is an expression of it (him) expression of us...were all gods..we all dream ..we all die and come back...history..religions..they're all distorted in this schizm of a 3rd dimension that we believe to be real...when in reality every that carries DMT (found in spinal of fluid of all living things and in all herbs) were all god..all one conciousness..different expressions same words...there are many gods (us) but that's just us..(one)

  • I don't know the real story, but in this movie version I feel so bad for the mother. She loved Moses as her son.

  • 8:08

Jesus Moses you didn't have to push him off!!! And even if it is just an accident, you were in a very high place you shouldn't have been pushing anyone in the first place!

  • 7:02 He gave him a lighter load. :D Such nice people.

  • MY KIDS LOVE IT LIKE IT IS THERE LIFE LOL

  • All I ever wanted!!!

  • dramatic music....nice

  • I am a jew and don't bother me because of it. I don't care what Mel Gibson likes or what he dislikes. In our holy book they in the first testiment that G-D would make Abraham's children (jews) slaves and that they would be tortured and be slaves for 400 years. I hate what they have been through. People still don't treat us like we are normal people only with different religions. Why is this? If you know why and respect me and my nation Yisrael, than thumbs up

  • @924Lolo i don't understand why you didn't spell out God all the way. if it's alright, can you explain that to me?

  • @924Lolo Hey, I'm Muslim and have TONS of respect for Jews! Not so much for Zionists, but hey, there are extremes in every religion, including my own.. which is a little more well known these days. >_>

I hate how your people have been treated as well.. :(

  • @924Lolo I'm a Christian, a Catholic, and I've nothing against you and your religion for you and I worship the same God and the Bible; our religions do have their differences because my religion reads the Old and New Testaments and there are people from my religion who are not part of yours e.g. Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, but it doesn't make you any less human than me nor does it mean you're not one of God's people. We're all equal and God loves us.

  • @LightSpirit06 Brother I am a muslim and I have to say that was the best thing ive read on youtube ever. muslims believe we r all people of the book, we should all just get along.

  • @brucelee678 Thank you but eh, that's "sister" to you - I'm a woman. lol

  • @LightSpirit06 Oops :P sorry

  • @brucelee678 Lol it's okay. :P

  • @924Lolo Not jew, but respect them. You are normal, and Yisrael. Some people I call jerks, think their culture is the only normal one. They should be the real slaves.

All cultures, are NORMAL and amazing. I like learning new cultures.

  • @924Lolo i never understood that either...you may look different, "who the heck cares?!?!"......i am american and a christian and i have friends of many different nationalities, you're still people like all of us, our face structure is different, our skin is different...who cares...minor details.....

  • @924Lolo You make a good point, im not disagreeing with you but did Israel or jewish people need to forcibly remove people that were already living in Israel to take the land for themselves? No, the Jewish people took over the nation of Palestine and turned into Israel, Your nation of Israel is made up of Jewish people that feel they can get the world on their side because of pure sympathy. Before you say people don't treat you normally think about the history of your great nation.

  • @924Lolo why wouldn't you say G-D instead of GOD are you afraid of it. If you want to make a point than dont try to hide the words.
