HA! Way too cool! I have been looking at these videos from all over the world, and all of a sudden one pops up that I actually found! My daughter and Son-In-Law lived in this area while he was doing his internship. Loved finding caches here, and this one was one of the best, but not this hiders most evil work in my book. He has another one called "Holly City" that I never found, but had a slap my head moment back at home 850 miles away. I now have one like that. Way to go DaveCool/EvilDave!
"Was"?!! "Was hard to find"?!!! You mean IS hard to find. "Was" means you found it!! Holy shit what a waste of time that was. I seriosly can't believe what gets posted on youtube.
This one is different because the owner wanted it that way. See the post below by owner ... "If anyone would like to venture a guess please contact me privately. I would appreciate you not posting your guesses in this public forum." Go to Retired General or GC10YBK to get owner's email address to contact him privately.
@karolinakutes viral means a million or more views within a day or two...38,000 views over more than 2 years would be considered a very UNWATCHED video in my book....
@KATOMATE01 Okay, okay ... so sorry for having used the term "viral". We didn't mean to offend so many bean counters. We just meant that we had no idea the video would get this many "hits" - is that okay to say?
I am no where near this cache, can someone just tell me where it is in a message? All other cache videos show them, even the most clever ones... why is this one any different?
@vidhound : The cache's hiding place is visible in the video, but you can't see what makes the clue make sense. One of the hints listed on the cache page is that it is "not electrical". There is a lot of electrical equipment in the area that I didn't want folks tempted to disturb. If anyone would like to venture a guess please contact me privately. I would appreciate you not posting your guesses in this public forum.
So glad you're responding to this. This video has gone viral ... never intended it to be watched by the whole world ... but it sure has gotten lots of views ... and guesses!!! I don't want to spoil it by responding to guesses.
So maybe you could do the honors of responding appropriately!!!
As the cache owner I can tell you that it is not in the "steps"/platform.
The cache gets it's name from the fact that this is the back door of a closed Dollar General store. The decal on the door identifies it as Dollar General.
No, it is not in or around the steps. That's a good guess, though ... because the steps do look different (I never thought of that while I was looking). The clue "What's not there tells you what shouldn't be there" really makes sense once you have found it.
@greenglass2 - Nope, but you're close to the right idea! We finally found it, but we had to phone the guy who put the geocache there and he kept giving us clues until we found it
you need a gps TO geocache

Kinda makes me want to drive down there just to look for this cache. Team Two Star!! X D

It is in the wooden Box by the door, the step looking thing. It is the only thing that looks like that by the doors.
KazokuMugiwara 1 week ago
So the guy who made the cache is not there, you call him and he tells you maybe what shouldn't be there? WTH? I have no idea?

Is that electrical box some kind of generator? If it is then that may be where the cache is. "Retired General". Maybe?

@karolinakutes 26000+ views can hardly be called "going viral".

Is it the electrical meter that is missing. It would make sense. "The Retired General" As in GE(General Electric)
jimcarrie02 1 year ago
seems if you are looking around a no tresspassing sign would mean they don't want you there. Isn't one of the rules say you need permission.

Fake lock on the door? Looks like there isn't a doorknob so you should need an external lock.

Nope, it's not behind the no trespassing sign - nor does it have anything to do with that sign.
