@Tayrte You will not find anything worth it for $100 not even close. Even if you go 500 you will be on a very mediocre bike (most of the time). $700-800 will get you a pretty exceptionable starter bike.
Hey do you guys have to qualify in any way to present for expertvillage?
Expertvillage is the biggest load of crap I've seen in all fields. A lady teaching the headstand in yoga does not have the slightest CLUE what she is talking, and her vid is called how to avoid mistakes and do it safely. This video... it's all been said by others.
You Describe a road bike my friend. Did you want VIEWS? You got them. And 116 Thumbs up for the bike - the other half = 131 ... dislikes .... not for the bike!
I'd like a get myself a road bike ! They're so cool. Just a frame and wheels. The problem is I can't decide what to have, what brand, what type, I do like the clean c look of classic bikes made around 1980, but is it the way to go for a first roadbike? There are newer bikes for the same amount of money - with better componants, brakes, wheels...unt so wieter. Do you have an advice for me, for my first roadbike? Am I getting too much attention to the looks, better go for the performance ?
How to pick a Bicycle? Road bike tips and advice....mmmmm, wow! Should this not read "How to let someone waste 3mins 43 seconds of your life talking a load of tat!
I don't know what everyones problem is. Because he just gave the best answer ever. Just visit a store and ask those. Because you propably already knew you wanted to drive a road bike.
It might also help to ask someone on the internet and check (brand) of components and the (frame) material on your bike and see what fits your style the most.
Without any knowledge at first hand (drviing a scott sportster so knowing what racing might mean) I am awaiting a scott speedster (s10) to come.
"hey if you live on a sofa and only watch tv but wish you were lance armstrong then spend several grand on one of my bikes! you will be a tank in no time."
If you've never ridden a road bike before, I'd suggest a triple chain ring if you live in a mountainous area. Unless you're super strong you'll end up straining your legs on the steep hills with a 50, 39 chainset. Also, get used to the feel and the balance. I've never ridden a proper road bike before.
This video did not say how to properly pick a bike. Contrary to what that guy in the video said, that's not a racing bike. Because that's the Allez model and it's mostly for beginner road bike riders and it has a Columbus aluminum frame. Racing bike frames nowadays pretty much are all made from high modulus carbon fiber.
if you are a beginner go to target and get a decent budget road bike or hybrid. These are great bikes with decent shimano parts. Not super lightweight but for commuting or basic joy riding they are more than enough for the average joe.
I ride to work every day and my basic schwinn is a whopping 30 lbs but its the best bike I've ever purchased. For $250 you can get a decent new budget bike and ride the heck out of it until you are ready for something more serious.
@ctrlaltdlt01 hey bro should i get a mountain bike or road bike ? coz i just wana use it during evenings to cycle around my neighbourhood to sweat a little. and is a road bike hard to balance ? coz the tyre looks super thin and hard to use ! haha
a mountain bike is great for city riding since they come with suspension and the tires can handle more debris on the ground. They are made for tougher terrain. I rode mountain bikes for a long time before recently switching to road bikes (wanted to go faster lol). Some people are plenty fast on mtn bikes tho.
Road bikes are not hard to balance, there was an adjustment period of a few minutes but it feels perfectly natural. No suspension on the frames tho.
Hey im 16 im 200 pounds ( i know its over weight yes im fat. im also 5 foot 10. i livewin florida so everything is flat. i want a bike preferably a roadbike that i can bike long distances on for both pleasure and cardio. do you have any ideas i dont need some super expansive expert bike because im a beginner i dont know mucha bout bikes. Can you refer me to one? preferably something under $200 if it even exists thanks alot
you smash on that thing that front tire will buckle and the frame will shrivel like a tin can. that kinda bike is for people with money that try to look cool
The first question you need to ask yourself is do you want to weigh it or do you want to ride it? Both aluminum and carbon are awful materials to construct bikes from. Weight only matters while riding uphill and at that it really is only about 1% of what is significant. Carbon frames and components can easily snap or shatter over minor collisions and can cause death or injury. Don't believe industry hype, ride an old school lugged steel frame, they handle much better and are safer.
With 60% of americans overwieght, on that bike they would be knee thier belly.... Most better start with a hybird... That is what I did and after 5 years I now have a road bike with the bars that low... Also, a 250 pound person on that bike just might kill the wheels..

They're the same, but a racing bike has a geometry that throws you forward. The Specialized he is showing is actually a bit relaxed for my liking. A lot of road bikes have bent chain and seat stays (rear triangle) for comfort. Racing bikes are straighter there.
Picking a bike. Buying a prior year model can save money. No noticeable innovations if any and would still be enjoying the pleasure of riding a brand new bicycle.

specialized are pretty good, im currently about a year into biking and im getting a new bike for christmas. take alook at the allez and the sectuer bikes from specialized. the allez is a little bit tighter in the turns and has a bit smoother of a ride to me. it also has a better feel at low gears than the sectuer but the sectuer has alot more high end performance. it likes to go fast even though you have to swing it out a bit for a sharp turn. both are around $900 and i would recommend newpedals
pretty good for 3:42 but a 3 minute explanation??? C'mon, what 's up w/that? Geeze, these should be 10 min vids! He coulda mentioned that 'carbon' is a killer vibration dampener. All carbon is the deal, but a seat post/fork that way will help. Vibration = fatigue
often in road races, hill climbs meen you need a light bike, so aerobars are just van extra weight. Also it is reasonably hard to take sharp corners with aerobars. furthermore, when you ride in a peleton, you are drafting other cyclist, whereas to when you ride a triathlon, you have to reduce drag(so you put aerobars on)
im 13 years old and i was looking for my first roadbike on craigslist. i found a klein quantum for 350$ it looks like its in good condition and the MSRP is 1800$
Hi all, I'm new to road biking, but I'm after a new road bike, just for general use (Mainly getting from A to B, but also for a nice day out). I'm 6'1'', so as far as I know, I take a 21" frame, but I'm looking for reccommendations on a new bike retailing under around £250. Does anyone have any good bikes to reccommend?, & I will be much grateful to any advice.

often in road races, hill climbs meen you need a light bike, so aerobars are just van extra weight. Also it is reasonably hard to take sharp corners with aerobars. furthermore, when you ride in a peleton, you are drafting other cyclist, whereas to when you ride a triathlon, you have to reduce drag(so you put aerobars on)
:D

I was told that you cant use the brakes in this position. Not good for road racing. Aerobars seem to be a track thing.

Does anyone have any good bikes to reccommend?, & I will be much grateful to any advice.

i know that you could get a fuji for 500. and thats hella cheap, i believe its the newest 4.0, but i dont think youll find much "new" bikes for 250.
