  • Why do americans say aluminum ... Theres a second i its aluminium al-im-in-yum

  • @joshor123 just different pronounciations, if you were born here, you would wonder why europeans say alu-mini-um,

  • oh that's a nice bike , idc what you've said but i will buy that

  • Does anyone know a good road bike that has a maximum price of $100? I have a budget of $100.

  • @Tayrte You will not find anything worth it for $100 not even close. Even if you go 500 you will be on a very mediocre bike (most of the time). $700-800 will get you a pretty exceptionable starter bike.

  • @Tayrte i'd go to walmart

  • @Tayrte You can get a used road bike for ~$300. Check kijiji or Craigslist. I picked up my first Miele there :)

  • @Tayrte You really have to up your budget to 700 - 800, preferably 1000 tho.

  • I liked it, the title was misleading but I actually started to like the video.

  • Hey do you guys have to qualify in any way to present for expertvillage?

Expertvillage is the biggest load of crap I've seen in all fields. A lady teaching the headstand in yoga does not have the slightest CLUE what she is talking, and her vid is called how to avoid mistakes and do it safely. This video... it's all been said by others.

You Describe a road bike my friend. Did you want VIEWS? You got them. And 116 Thumbs up for the bike - the other half = 131 ... dislikes .... not for the bike!

  • when am I going to watch something useful from expert village?

  • lol everybody hates expert village

  • he meant over 14.8 right? Expert village? SO sick of who they have contribute.

  • Hey, what do you call those rims?

  • Sick rims man.. sexy bike.

  • Dude, are you selling your bike? Because all I got out of this is "this is a great bike."

  • im too ecited about the bike :D

  • Hi, I'm Aaron Phillips from Expert Village and I know fuck all about anything I say.

  • expert village... you've expected expert advice? :lol...

  • expert village my ass, fucking bunch of clowns.

  • 110 people are coach potatoes and "dopers".

  • @innerJAG No one can tell if your talking about the likes or dislikes.

  • you said they have to keep the bikes weight below 14.8 pounds. I think you mean above.

  • WTF is alominium !!!

  • 'head down to your local bike shop and start talking road bikes with those guys'......wow, what a piece of advice!!

This guy is a total tit!!

  • was he trying to give advice or sell me a bike?

  • I'd like a get myself a road bike ! They're so cool. Just a frame and wheels. The problem is I can't decide what to have, what brand, what type, I do like the clean c look of classic bikes made around 1980, but is it the way to go for a first roadbike? There are newer bikes for the same amount of money - with better componants, brakes, wheels...unt so wieter. Do you have an advice for me, for my first roadbike? Am I getting too much attention to the looks, better go for the performance ?

  • expertvillage should be renamed retardvillage

  • This video should be renamed 'Man describes a bike'

  • This sucks!

  • 1:19

He's ready to shit? Expert village is the worst!

  • What does your bike weight?

  • I didn't learn anything...

    "679"

  • How to pick a Bicycle? Road bike tips and advice....mmmmm, wow! Should this not read "How to let someone waste 3mins 43 seconds of your life talking a load of tat!

"Go to a bike shop", takes 2 seconds!

  • I don't know what everyones problem is. Because he just gave the best answer ever. Just visit a store and ask those. Because you propably already knew you wanted to drive a road bike.

It might also help to ask someone on the internet and check (brand) of components and the (frame) material on your bike and see what fits your style the most.

Without any knowledge at first hand (drviing a scott sportster so knowing what racing might mean) I am awaiting a scott speedster (s10) to come.

  • "hey if you live on a sofa and only watch tv but wish you were lance armstrong then spend several grand on one of my bikes! you will be a tank in no time."

  • /care

  • If you've never ridden a road bike before, I'd suggest a triple chain ring if you live in a mountainous area. Unless you're super strong you'll end up straining your legs on the steep hills with a 50, 39 chainset. Also, get used to the feel and the balance. I've never ridden a proper road bike before.

  • What a load of drivel. I think my granddaughters of 9 and 11 could do better.

  • cool

  • This video did not say how to properly pick a bike. Contrary to what that guy in the video said, that's not a racing bike. Because that's the Allez model and it's mostly for beginner road bike riders and it has a Columbus aluminum frame. Racing bike frames nowadays pretty much are all made from high modulus carbon fiber.

  • "These, uh, brake hoods." LOL!

  • useless

  • "a little dose of speed on the weekends"

  • if you are a beginner go to target and get a decent budget road bike or hybrid. These are great bikes with decent shimano parts. Not super lightweight but for commuting or basic joy riding they are more than enough for the average joe.

I ride to work every day and my basic schwinn is a whopping 30 lbs but its the best bike I've ever purchased. For $250 you can get a decent new budget bike and ride the heck out of it until you are ready for something more serious.

  • @ctrlaltdlt01 hey bro should i get a mountain bike or road bike ? coz i just wana use it during evenings to cycle around my neighbourhood to sweat a little. and is a road bike hard to balance ? coz the tyre looks super thin and hard to use ! haha

  • @nightubble

a mountain bike is great for city riding since they come with suspension and the tires can handle more debris on the ground. They are made for tougher terrain. I rode mountain bikes for a long time before recently switching to road bikes (wanted to go faster lol). Some people are plenty fast on mtn bikes tho.

Road bikes are not hard to balance, there was an adjustment period of a few minutes but it feels perfectly natural. No suspension on the frames tho.

  • Yes you "can" get bikes that weigh as little as 14-15 lbs, but the one you are holding is about 17.

  • I thought it meant pick a bike lock. Oh well, like boarding5401 said.

  • I dont see the bike, 'cuz its behind the subs :(

  • Hey im 16 im 200 pounds ( i know its over weight yes im fat. im also 5 foot 10. i livewin florida so everything is flat. i want a bike preferably a roadbike that i can bike long distances on for both pleasure and cardio. do you have any ideas i dont need some super expansive expert bike because im a beginner i dont know mucha bout bikes. Can you refer me to one? preferably something under $200 if it even exists thanks alot

  • @kse6063 If you want a road bike that is not shitty you'll need to spend at least $800.

  • @Tammc09 hey! LD te saddle of any bike is always the same heigh of your waist right ? :)

  • @Tammc09 More than that! Road bikes made with high quality cost atleast $1,800 fully built.

  • @ocf1fan1 Yes, that's for high quality. I was just telling him what to expect to pay for one that isn't completely shit.

  • sorry I just gotta boast here but I got a £2500 carbon fibre bike yesterday and that like $3700 in America :D

  • @DOILOOKFAT1 What brand is your bike made by?

  • @ocf1fan1 S works

  • @JETHO321 You are a criminal and lazy, and do not deserve to have driving priveliges. I hope you are punished!

  • @JETHO321 haha fuck you.

  • now i know how to pick a bicycle! thanks!

  • lets play a drinking game! Yeager bomb every time this douche says "um" or "uh"

  • @sony451 its spelt jager! and that wud be a shit load of jager bombs, sounds like an awesome game!

  • rofl expertvillage is a total ripoff...

  • how in the heck do I get the txt off the screen lol.

  • you smash on that thing that front tire will buckle and the frame will shrivel like a tin can. that kinda bike is for people with money that try to look cool

  • I like vintage road bokes with crome molly frames better then ones like this.

  • Road bikes are way too exspensive

  • THANKS EDWARD NORTON

  • Dumbass ....road bikes aren't meant for speed their meant for endurance..

  • brake hubs

  • How much a cheap comfortable road bike like this cost? :)

  • @FrozenCrewGr For a decent one, $300-500. The bike in the video looks a bit more pricey.

  • @FrozenCrewGr this bike will not be comfortable

  • useful information if your 5 years of age. it's patronising.

  • informative for me, beginner. thanks

  • hes basicly saying specialized is the best bike in the world and its not... cannondale makes a 17 lbs alumion bike

  • Yes, expert village is fairly useless. We all agree.

  • hahaha expert village is getting ROASTED. w/e It was worth watching i guess.

  • FUCK THE ADVICE .YOU WANT TO GO FASTER PEDAL HARDER!!!

  • FUCK THE ADVICE .YOU WANT TO GO FASTER PEDAL HARDER!!!

  • There is nothing Expert about expertvillage.

  • I have rebuilt and reliably ridden bikes that are older than this "expert ".

  • The first question you need to ask yourself is do you want to weigh it or do you want to ride it? Both aluminum and carbon are awful materials to construct bikes from. Weight only matters while riding uphill and at that it really is only about 1% of what is significant. Carbon frames and components can easily snap or shatter over minor collisions and can cause death or injury. Don't believe industry hype, ride an old school lugged steel frame, they handle much better and are safer.

  • @iamaswamp More useful advice in this reply than in the video. Thanks!

  • @iamaswamp F=ma... less mass...faster acceleration. Wow.

  • I hate how he said aluminum

  • @portorarower93 why?

  • How to pick a Specialized Allez. Any other options???

  • Who said I didn't wanna dope?

  • Expertvillage has people that never made it as an expert in their field.lol.

  • With 60% of americans overwieght, on that bike they would be knee thier belly.... Most better start with a hybird... That is what I did and after 5 years I now have a road bike with the bars that low... Also, a 250 pound person on that bike just might kill the wheels..

  • I'm a weekend warrior I must admit on my racing bike. except my weekend is everyday. xD

  • 14.8 pound weight minimum or limit ?

  • Sorry, but this does not tell me how to pick a road bike.

  • So which one do you fit into?

  • is it just me or is expert village full of shitty useless advice?!?!

  • theres some good stuff, just alooooot of vids. There has to be some useless stuff in there.

  • @boarding5401 It's not just you, Expervillage is an oxymoron site......

  • Comment removed

  • @boarding5401 sweet f'n A. When I was part way through I thought to myself this prick is giving me absolutely no info on actually choosing a bike, must be a expert village clip.

Fancy my shock when I looked down and spotted your comment :)

At least this had some info on bikes but nothing to do with the actual title yet again.

Expert Village shits me to tears every time I accidentally click on one of their vids

  • @boarding5401 its the same across the board mate

  • lol i stole a road bike got home put it in my back yard went to the bathroom got out and it was gone hahaha i was so pissed...

  • haha shows you for steeling it in the first place!

  • what a crap

  • dude u only talked about road bike!!!

    :0

  • dang general, 6'1 and 150, I would hate to climb with you.

  • ........"Almost completely hollow" ........

  • guys...

how much would a good road bike cost me?

  • road bike like that 1500 they could go up 2 3000 but an alluminum dura ace combonents probably like 2 or 3 hundred with a good set of wheels

  • @rocketer90 wat country u in?

  • jordan

  • You might want to start at an entry level road bike. These are still really good quality as far as average consumer bikes go and cost around $500 to $600.

  • how about used bikes?

how much would it cost to buy one?

  • Try craiglist, they have a pretty big selection of road bikes and components at about half the price of a new one.

  • @rocketer90 a good one is $500 and up!!

  • $300-00 14kg rd bike

  • @ssoficer1

which weight could I get for around 500 bucks?

  • this is hilarious!!! what the hell is he going on about? is he talking about fitting? technology? bicycles or the tour?

  • full name of this bike please..........

  • cock

  • This shouldn't be a video- nor should this guy be getting paid to do this. After a minute-long extended metaphor, I learned nothing. I still do not know what size bicycle is right for my height, where to buy one, what parts to look for, what is a decent price, etc. This did not help me choose a bicycle.

  • Did I mispell sectuer-secteur LOL

  • Dude come-ON! The secteur is an endurance road bike whereas the allez is a competitive road bike so if you feel the opposite to be true by how you compared the two then it seems obvious your telling an untrue account of your experience as to there dynamics.

I own a 2009 Allez sport comp double which is equivalent to 2010 Allez elite.

  • whats the diff. with a racer and a road bike?:D

  • They're the same, but a racing bike has a geometry that throws you forward. The Specialized he is showing is actually a bit relaxed for my liking. A lot of road bikes have bent chain and seat stays (rear triangle) for comfort. Racing bikes are straighter there.

  • Picking a bike. Buying a prior year model can save money. No noticeable innovations if any and would still be enjoying the pleasure of riding a brand new bicycle.

  • That's quite right - however if there have been upgrades to the gruppo line, then there will be some difference but definitely, if you are on a budget look at previous season or second-hand bikes.

  • And um, you don't want to dope. . . Poor attempt at humor.

  • Comment removed

  • you'll be fine. Maybe you should lay off the bacon, ah just kidding lol. But seriosuly I would suggest a recreational or trail bike. Might be more comfortable for you.

  • thanks mate very helpful information

I'm beginner with road bike what your advice for me . which bike brand is good and cheap . hope to hear from you

  • I love Norco.. Norco VFR would be a good beginner bike... more expensive bikes come later...

  • specialized are pretty good, im currently about a year into biking and im getting a new bike for christmas. take alook at the allez and the sectuer bikes from specialized. the allez is a little bit tighter in the turns and has a bit smoother of a ride to me. it also has a better feel at low gears than the sectuer but the sectuer has alot more high end performance. it likes to go fast even though you have to swing it out a bit for a sharp turn. both are around $900 and i would recommend newpedals

  • bikes hurt the pelvic bone area

  • Only if you are doing it wrong.

  • this guy is a tool!

  • where does expertvillage find these guys?

  • uuugh ..... road bike

  • better than a fixie

  • he should have zipp 1080's on there... lol

  • bamboo is a good dampener too

  • Yeah, but Califee is the world's only bike company that makes a bamboo-frame bike. I saw it at Cyco Path in Temecula, CA!

  • pretty good for 3:42 but a 3 minute explanation??? C'mon, what 's up w/that? Geeze, these should be 10 min vids! He coulda mentioned that 'carbon' is a killer vibration dampener. All carbon is the deal, but a seat post/fork that way will help. Vibration = fatigue

  • why does it quit all the sudden. good tips but it lets down at the end

  • What's with the "doping" comments? So negative.

  • this ia a nice bike....damn i want 1

  • he said under 250 pounds too, not dollars!

  • I'm a triathlete and have aerobars on my bike but no one uses them in road races why is that

  • Comment removed

  • often in road races, hill climbs meen you need a light bike, so aerobars are just van extra weight. Also it is reasonably hard to take sharp corners with aerobars. furthermore, when you ride in a peleton, you are drafting other cyclist, whereas to when you ride a triathlon, you have to reduce drag(so you put aerobars on)

    :D

  • they do in timetrial

  • I was told that you cant use the brakes in this position. Not good for road racing. Aerobars seem to be a track thing.

  • im 13 years old and i was looking for my first roadbike on craigslist. i found a klein quantum for 350$ it looks like its in good condition and the MSRP is 1800$

    is this a good deal?

  • no it isnt go to bikes direct great bikes for cheap

  • Im about to buy a carrera too, im getting mine on the weekend when i get payed :D cant wait!!!

  • Sorry mate, I'll prove you wrong :D Bought a Carrera today. Reduced from £450 to £258. Really nice bike aswell.

  • i love road bikes

  • Hi all, I'm new to road biking, but I'm after a new road bike, just for general use (Mainly getting from A to B, but also for a nice day out). I'm 6'1'', so as far as I know, I take a 21" frame, but I'm looking for reccommendations on a new bike retailing under around £250. Does anyone have any good bikes to reccommend?, & I will be much grateful to any advice.

  • i know that you could get a fuji for 500. and thats hella cheap, i believe its the newest 4.0, but i dont think youll find much "new" bikes for 250.

  • whats with the hostility riding a bike is riding a bike whether it be a fixie or derailleur

  • alumon or how ever you spell it is kind of heavy for a road bike, specilized tarmac is 2200

  • I'm a fixie rider.

  • Well fuck you then, cockbag.

  • LOL, your mom's pussy is my cock's holster, bitch. Fixies for life. Freewheels are for pussies.

  • LOLZOR, your dad's pussy is your cock's holster, dick. Derailleurs for life. Fixies are for mod hipsters.
