The supertitles on that block-looking thing is really interesting. What if someone on stage forgets it's there? And can everyone in the audience see it? Am i missing something?

Clearly a special voice but the most boring 'interpretation' ever. No fun or sense of victory anywhere! She may as well have been singing about pixies romping in the grass
Yep, Handel recycled some old oratorio tunes for this one, as he did for his other, later works. He can't really sue himself for copyright violations, eh? (Not that the concept even existed then, and everyone 'borrowed' from everyone else, including Bach - esp. from himself - and it didn't seem to be a big deal.)
This is a perfect role for her as the role sits where her voice is most radiant and is not that high. She should also do Alcina, which is actually not all that high as written, while she's in her youthful peak. Such a lustrous voice!
Hee, I was mesmerised by this and other bits with Veronique Gens, too. Ms. Gens is, indeed, very fine here as usual, despite the goofy costume and wig. Thanks for the comment. Best regards!
Although I don't know if jumpers were quite so low cut as that, and the shirt so revealing, isn't that more like today's invention? It's nice that she wears it well, and has the body for it (which I know they must have considered before putting her in that). But did they have to give her hair that matches her jumper? I, personally find it to be a bit of an eye soar. Good thing she sings so great.
haha the hair was too much yes, but I guess from a pure artistic point of view its fitting for the general picture.
Ok, you got a point, I suppose that today we exaggerated the 17/18th century fashion a little much...but it was noted at times that decollete cut got so low the clergy called it "window of hell"...awesome imagery don't you think? xD
"window of hell"...heh? I guess for the opposite sex it might be secretly considered as "window to heaven on earth" ha ha. It seems the dress is barely holding up the blouse from falling. I believe the dress by itself, without the blouse would look LESS REVEALING even though the stars wear more skimpy stuff on the red carpet (especially Sher) but that's a different story, altogether.
:D Yes, this is not true a 17th or 18th century costume (the bodice and poofed petticoat is, loosely, more like an 18th century ensemble, but it looks like they tried getting one of those late 17th/early 18th century high rise hairdos). And a lady would have been careful not to let her shift, AKA "underwear" to slide off her shoulders like that, especially under her other clothes. But I think the ensemble is awesome anyways, and her singing is so excellent it almost enhances it. :)

She seems a bit way too happy...it's like she's planning something o.O

Hooty, typical of all singers today. Listen to Conchita Supervia for spontaneity, the mark of great singers

Eine der früheren Opern Händels und definitiv eine der besten. Und diese Arie ist eine der besten von Agrippina. Wunderschön.

Hey this is from an earlier cantata like most arias in Agrippina. It's from Aminta e Fillide :)

Duh! What made me put Mozart? It's Handel of course.
Anyway, gives me a chance to thank mariandelochs for posting this witty, very enjoyable clip.

Hee, easy enough mistake to make ! ;) And 'tis my pleasure, dear jabberwock01, to share such lovely music with everyone - you're welcome.

Such elegance but with gusto, energy, a delicious sense of humour and a voice to die for. The Mozart itself isn't half bad either...

I agree. Baroque era fashion in my opinion is the best when it comes to looking erotic without being vulgar at all :D
