what a combination! - blue shiny, satin suite, hair like a poodle, receding hairline & cock-a-hoop eyes! No wonder the giant pacman in the background has an :D expression! great voice though
Funniest thing about this song: the singer in blue is British vocalist John Lawton, who was at the same time as this performance the lead singer of the band Lucifer's Friend, who were more or less Hamburg's answer to Led Zeppelin! He was later hand-picked by the famous British hard rock band Uriah Heep to replace their original lead singer. With him, they had a huge German hit single, "Free Me". Seeing him sing a Ralph Siegel number is both weird and hilarious.
(Adding to the list: Wir Geben'ne Party, Lied fur Einen Freund, etc. etc. (and they've even written some recent entries, though sadly hardly as spectacular). I've nothing to add on the song - hardly spectacular. (But what's Pacman doing there in the backdrop? ;P)

I heard this wasn't the original choice for the German entry of 1976- the winner of the national heat was disqualified for some reason.
