  • i remember the one in june 2009 i was in Sandy when it began to get so dark i thought time went by but it was only 4pm but it looked like it was 8pm. and when i came out from the store after i realized the green clouds forming, i talked to some people who were watching the sky and sure enough a freaking funnel was trying to form above us so i got in my car and drove back to estacada to beat the storm but got stuck in it it was surreal.

  • Are thunder storms in general a rare occurance up in the NW (OR & WA)????

  • @SixSpeedSS West of the Cascades, yes, rare in general. Up in the mountains and East they're a bit more common, but in the Western valleys, we're lucky to get 1 or 2 storms in a season.

  • @W7ENK Interesting. Thanks for the details. So while you see much more rain up there than myself down here in AZ, you see it without the big stormy weather. Just strait rain, light rain, or drizzle. Where as down here, about half the times that it does run, it is associated with thunderstorms, and often with an intensity similar to this footage you caught.

  • i remember that day. i was getting my haircut and the storm was getting intense so i just left right in the middle of my haircut cause i was freaked out when the radio's announcement of a tornado watch and my hair looked like shit

  • Love the shelf cloud starting at 4:30! Nice! 5 stars

  • It was only a tornado Watch.......
