  • RedRum....REDRUM!!! lol such a classic movie

  • theres good news and bad news what the bad news? i lied about the good news

  • I haven't seen this in so long I laughed MAO. (Another reason why you shouldn't let corporate programmed radio burn you out on music, you will grow sick of it.)

  • i watch this just because i learned that mark knopfler himself played the guitar!

  • @huskar009 me too :) Knopfler is a genious!

  • @huskar009 of course he did, it's his song that al's parodying.

  • Yes. Because of "Behind the Music."

  • thats my mop!!!!!!! thats my mop!!!!!!!!

  • Great!!

    …ただただ感心するのみ。

    スゲェよ、アル!!

  • UHF was a good movie

  • weird al should have his own show

  • @hoBOshow123 he writes childrens books now

  • @hoBOshow123 he does, its called the weird al show

  • @bananaannutmuffinful Actually, the weird al show was cut in 98 because of lack of views.

  • @bananaannutmuffinful what a coincidence

  • This song is SO great and the music video is parodied SO brilliantly! Al is such a legend! :)

  • Al's a freakin' genius

  • oldy but a goody...

  • lol his head in this vid is like the shape of a bannana lol.

  • 2:41 -->"Mooova moova movie stars ( -.O)"

  • 2:35 -->"Swimming pools(;D)"

  • Oddly enough, this song is banned from the radio because people find the word "Clampett" offensive.

  • swiming pools :D

  • iamobeliskquake, what I meant was 'I'forgot about this video! I love Al and Mark, just thought it would've been cool if Al and Frank could've got together on a few Parodies.

  • first video I've watched on the new YouTube layout.... grr :c

  • TIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVARS!!!!1!!!11

  • UHF is the BEST movie EVER, but my favorite part is "Just Call Me Mr.Butter Fingers", It makes me laugh every single time

  • The drummer is brother to Knopfler's longtime second guitarist

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of his best tunes !!!!

  • What's funny is that this song comes right the heck out of nowhere in the movie.

  • Forgot about this, Al and Frank Zappa should've got together for a song or two!

  • @waynedanberry forget about this? this is the legendary Mark Knopfler that Al was playing with. Although Frank is a great musician, Mark is way ahead of him

  • This song rocks. No more to be said.

  • MOVA-MOVA-MOVIE STARS!

  • @ClevoMaiden at least 200 other people wanted to type this in the comments but you beat us too it.

  • I want my, I want my, I want my AL TV!

  • Music needs more parodies and more artistic music videos.

  • About two years ago, this video got me so into the original, I had to watch it every day. Thanks, Al!

  • They should've put this song in the Beverly hillbillies movie with Jim varney as Jed, the movie still would be god-awful but still

  • only here because of How I Met Your Mother!

  • this is better then the real song!!!!!!

  • this video is hilarious with all the simple trippy video effects HAHAHAHAHHA

  • wierd al needs to be in the rock and roll hall of fame.

  • ironically it's the only song parody in the movie

  • First 3d animation in history... Genius.

  • this is a dream sequence in the movie UHF.

  • @greenpilgrim50 Thank you captain obvious.

  • Funny movie. Woul recommend

  • So much respect for Mark Knopfler and Guy Fletcher for being in this video!

  • Weird Al seems to have this thing about bending guitars. You see one in this video, and the videos for Smells Like Nirvana and Gump.

  • Umm Al is genius

  • Sorry...I couldn't make it through this. Just too stupid.

  • @thisischavez Maybe you just suck.

  • I just got watching UHF again. I think Weird Al needs to make more movies

  • this has a VERY good guitar solo!!

  • As good as this is, Al, I'm gonna have to call Big Lipped Alligator Moment on this one.

  • god i love that rubber guitar of his

  • i just realized al used to look like a molestor

  • minecraft LOl

  • I've added this to my FB group dedicated to cover versions. It's called "the Guilty Pleasure of the Cover Version" feel free to join in

  • Considering MTV has turned to shit slowly. A reality show here and a reality show there. They multiply until they take over and not a single music video is played ever again. Magically they come up with an MTV2 and the same junk happens yet 3x faster. Long live 1980-1995 MTV. Weird Al is all that is left to keep them alive.

  • @bobiddity So true. MTV was great during the 80's and early 90's. Then reality shows took over. I can't believe they still have the gall to refer to themselves as "MUSIC Television."

  • @mplsmn1975 I remember MTV more for bringing the now defunct REM to the national audience. I remember when REM used to be on MTV they were always ranked best in music video. Once Britney spears and N'sync came to MTV it was put on life support.

  • @dinfg6 Yeesh, Britney Spears. Now THERE'S a pop singer I'd love to see disappear from public view forever. (I know, no chance of that happening) She manages to get her ridiculous face plastered all over the magazines and is constantly followed by paparazzi. I guess some people like the way she pronounces "bay-buh, bay-buh" and sounds like she's retching half the time in her crappy songs.

  • @bobiddity

    So sad but true...

  • If I had learned to play the guitar. If I had learned to play them drums ... I would welcome a Wierd Al Yankovic parody of any of my songs. Rock on, Wierd Al !!!

  • One of the more bang-on parodies by him. He got every little conceit almost perfect.

  • Knopfler is actually playing the guitar on this recording :)

  • @ccanaves

That's correct, Knopfler only allowed this parody if he was playing the riff =)

  • what's particularly entertaining about this parody is that when Al' asked permission to do it, they okayed it but the guitarist from dire straits said he had to do the guitar work for him.

  • go to 2:35 its funny lol

  • move uh move uh movie stars!!!! hahahahahahahahaha

  • peed my pants laughing! love!!!!!1

  • 91 people obously haven't seen the original music video by Dire Straight

  • Al is a bona fide genius.

  • the tumbnail looks suggestive

  • LOL I didn't even know there was aweird all for this !!!

  • it's horrible

  • this ones kinda dumb

  • Weird Al = win!

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song i always play it on Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock

  • Undoubtly Weird Al's funniest song ever!!!!!

  • anyone else notice the pink floyd reference? the whole(Al in cartoon form)

  • @kirbymaster12 Do you mean Dire Straits?

  • @kirbymaster12 watch the original money for nothing video and you'll understand

  • i love the bendy guitar

  • With all due respect, I still feel the best spoof ever done is by this guy - youtube.com/watch?v=7uSlqI1AVUk (for Nickelback's Rockstar - youtube.com/watch?v=DmeUuoxyt_E) freaking hilarious.

  • Un putain de bon nanars comme on en fait plus ! Génial !

  • He needs his moustache again.

  • I laughed so hard in the begining xD

  • UHF was a good movie, but it didn't have enough of AL himself. It was more about the janitor.... Thumbs up if you've watched the movie and you agree!

  • @hijoeimjoe You mean Michael Richards? TVs Kramer?

  • @machine134 Yup. Him.

  • @hijoeimjoe true

  • @hijoeimjoe Yeah you are right but the point of the film is to show how lucky Al was to meet the janitor and the janitor was the one who helped to get his on tv station.

  • @TheBockyman Well, true. But still, everyone expected it to have AL since it's one of his only movies...

  • this 3D most have cost a fortune back then

  • @Blah3156 this video was made in 89 and the dire straits version was 4 years before that! if 3d was a lot in 89....

  • The microphone in the thumbnail looks like a dick. Just saying.

  • This is for my daughter to let her know that we DO agree on SOME music. A classic.

  • i'm glad no one ever made weird al take his medication.

  • Trippy

  • That guitarist is almost as good as Knopfler himself.

  • @accuristau The guitarist is Knopler. He said that if Al was going to parody "Money for Nothing", he actually wanted to do the guitar part himself.

  • @jasoncinema Knopfler. Damn fast typing.

  • @accuristau the guitarist is Knopfler. Knopfler just isnt in the video

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ╭∩╮(︶_︶)╭∩╮

  • @KingofScotland100 the rate at which televisions emit light are perfect for inducing trances. That's why people watch tv and look like zombies when they focus on it. Then they flick on the news and the news is usually mostly bs covering up the truth behind the scenes. Scary times, a bit too much like 1984 for my comfort

  • wew,old vid...... but it's creative and still catchy

  • 1:09 - Hell of a guitar bend there.

  • @HideyoshiJP That's taking a neck bend to a whole new level... XD

  • This was the least good song Al ever did. It's not funny, it's not a parody at all.

  • HOLY CRAP!!! look at those animations!! howd they do that!?!?

  • @KingofScotland100 they started using it for mass hypnosis when it first came out and there were like 3 channels

  • can i just say I LOVE AL !!!!!!! HE ROCKS love he so much

  • all bow down before the master! and that al guys pretty cool too...

  • What's with Al and bending the neck of guitars?

  • @Anon867530 it looks cool!

  • 81 people have a lot of paperwork to sign for Mr Drysdale

  • The original version on Dire Straits was a critic against legendary hard rock band Mötley Crüe and its popularity at the eighties. Too bad Mötley Crüe still rules over all these years. Long Live to The Crüe!!!

  • @wesleysixx I believe Nikki Sixx always claimed that, but Dire Straits never confirmed it... they have only said it was a commentary on MTV and how you don't have to have talent anymore to make it as a band, you just have to look good. Ironically of course their video made them famous and MTV then used the part with Sting singing "I want my MTV" as a badge of honor, as if it was their own anthem, for years and years.

  • That little Clampett is a millionaire, lol

  • I guess the studio that did that CG made some improvements since doing the video for Dire Straits...the modeling is almost exactly the same, but the animation is far more fluid than the original Money For Nothing music video.

  • @autocon2002

For 1985, Dire strait's video was the FUTURE.

    It was really cool.

  • This movie was so good I cry laughing at the thought of watching it again just to see the add for Ghandi II. "No more Mr. Passive Resistance!"

  • i like how he used mincraft to make the video

  • Weird Al should do a VHF movie.

  • @darkfoxfurre He did.

  • um cgi or hand drawn?....

  • I love both!!!

  • Haha awesome parody of Dire Straits Money For Nothing!

  • i like the bit about "he was shootin / he was shootin at some food."

  • UHF, good movie. This is the best part. :D

  • hahahahahha

  • That would suck to live like that in 0:33

  • someone once said, "you know you've made it big when Weird Al want's to do a parody of your work". can't remember who it was though

  • @AlaBeroya Kurt Cobain said it after Weird Al made "Smells Like Nirvana".

  • I'm pretty sure I was stoned when I watched UHF.

  • As he stairs he thinks of how he wants to be on MTV some day lol.

  • ich liebe

  • I sing this song whenever I hear the original now. Sadly no one understands how I came up with the lyrics when I do it.

  • hhahaha he looks like Kip from Napoleon Dynomite

  • Great! but 3D animations sucked back in the 80's

  • @ao2579 Well that was the best they had back then

  • @Pokebuddy22

Actually, CGI was much better than this in 1989. It looks awful because it's a parody of a video from 1985.

  • Looks like 77 people couldn't move the refrigerator or the colour TVs!!!

  • Hmmmm I wonder if there's a sports team called the Beverly Hillbillies...

  • Brilliant! V clever lyrics.

  • bendeh guitar!

  • Even on a parody version the guitar riff still sounds so cool.

  • What are you guys talking about? Its back on the radio in Canada... What I still don't get is that it is wrong for someone to say "faggot" but yet it is fine and dandy for a rapper to sing about killing cops and beating women... Go figure.

  • Great parody, why it's so short? Genius cartoon remake, but the dog is not changed, and there's a lack of many scenes, like head in the oven and opening refrigerator. And, I tell ya again, TOO SHORT! :) Regards,

  • i cant believe how perfectly the new words fit

  • 0:52 my fav guitar solo of all time =D

  • @Giggerbar lol its not the solo its a sweet intro tho

  • @eak848 Lol k

  • de graphics are state of de art!

  • 1:34

    Best line ever

    Was shootin at some food

  • wierd all is a pioneer in comedy!

  • High technology 80s

  • This is one of the best music vid impersonations Ive ever seen to be honest, often teyre very poor imitations of the original but all the graphics are spot on t the original from the 3D CGI to the fluro coloured sketch style overprints on the band

  • I love this and the original! Weird Al and Mark Knopfler are both awesome artists :)

  • early 3d animation, sorta reminds me of minecraft

  • well my other ten favourite parody songs better move over, now that ive heard this one

  • you know you're famous when you've had a parody done by weird al
