@MrSoundblaster90 practice! i know it sounds cliche, but just draw little bits everyday. invest in a sketchbook and every day for at LEAST 5 minutes draw portions of things. even if u r unsatisfied with them, keep drawing. eventually u will improve and trust me, i may only be 12 but i am in an art class and have to draw in a sketchbook every day. i obviously dont but i make up for it. but i do draw during classes and such just to help myself. if u have any art classes available to u, take them!!

@SkippyDipzy Both of these questions can be easily answered. Google them. Basically, photoshop is a photo editor. It is not free, but a really helpful program. A tablet is like a touchscreen computer, or in some cases a sensitive pad that you can use a stylus as a pen to draw on programs like paint and photoshop. hope this helps. Need more info? Google is a good resource!

If you learn anatomy, not only will you be able to draw realism, but it will help you with cartoons, such as anime. (Since cartoons are merely distortions of normal anatomy.) Also, if you wish to be a professional artist, you must learn this at some point. :P

Just now, when I was watching this video, when one of the steps said to move from pencil and paper to pen tablet, I was like "well I can't do that! I can't find my stupid tablet pen." And then real quick I stretched, and saw my pen was hiding behind my keyboard. Please people, thumb this up so if you need tips for finding something, look behind, below, and in front of your keyboard. Please. The same thing happened with my chapstick.

I agree with you on most of these things, but I think you're giving bad advice on the second point. In fact, that's one of the reasons I really dislike anime. Everyone just mimics each other. It's why the professional art community is REALLY turned off by anime, because it's very rare that anime artists can draw anything else competently. I just urge people, if you want to go pro, to learn anatomy first, THEN bring in anime, and DON'T limit yourself to it. You'll be much better that way.

@wowagelimit On the contrary, I think it is great advice, but it's pretty obvious. You can learn the artist's techniques and style by copying, hell even some anatomy. But it is only to teach you, and I think that was Sophiechan's objective in giving these tips. Also, no art form has a limit to it. Tip 4: Master drawings on paper then move on to your pen tablet.

@DarkOrders i thnk that's because of the oil and warmth your hand has, and because when you draw, your hand has to touch the paper it just smudges. some people put a paper under their wrist when they draw, prevents smudging. i dont even know if that's why it smudges....but its something like that xD

i learned to draw basically doing what he says, as a start i used to draw some cartoons out of my mind just memorizing how they look, then i moved on to copying them without tracing them, also being a good observer helps, i would stare at other artists drawings to understand them better how to trace certain lines and how big should some parts be in proportion to others etc... , then practicing a lot its very important, try to be constatnt cause if u stop u will eventually forget what u learned
