well it's hard for me to give advice cause i am the guy in the relationship..but i always correct people..if they ever mislabel me or assume i am a lesbian cause i am with other lesbians i just say i am a guy..and that is that useally
I dunno, when I'm out with my bf, people tend to assume we're dykes, which, as you say, is not neccessarily a derogatory, but at the same time is not the case. I guess it would depend on how safe I felt the space was - like if there were a couple of friends there, one of us would probably say something (or a friend would), but if the space is a bit more hostile, then I'm not going to out him without permission.
I ran into a similar problem when I was dating, my bf and I would be out and I would suddenly stop passing as male and people would assume we were just a straight couple. He was in this weird "gay overpride" stage (as I like to call it) and so was always quick to correct people and make sure they knew we were a gay couple. I'm pretty non-confrontational, but it felt really nice to have him reaffirm my identity like that... Dunno if this helps at all, or if it's what you were asking for...

Slashemp, that sounds kinda sweet.
