  • can you store the finish cake pops? if so how long (in fridge) ?

  • you explained it very well! thanks for the shortening information, that sort out my problem now.. :)) Thanks

  • so easy to make, I saw others that make cake pops they didn't put shortening. Thank you so much for that tip....

  • i love it! but i am not a fan of american buttercream could i use Italian buttercream? or would the italian buttercream not stand up to the heat of the candie melts?

  • @honibee18

Hi It shouldn't be a problem. Just as long as all your cake has some "Glue"to roll into a ball. Hope it works out.

  • YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO TAP

  • Can you make the "Brownie Pops" AND the "Cookie Pops" the next time? My Mom & I LOVE your advice and guidance. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING your WISDOM & SKILLS! Be Blessed-Deloria E. (NORCAL)

  • Hi there i love cooking and baking too, am from Dominican Republic, in my country does not sell candy melts what other thing u think i should use for this great recipe. I have try with thick sugar icing (sugar powder, vanilla and milk) but doesn't work or what kind of chocolate brand know one i should try?? thank you soo much really i been seen videos but this is the best one!!!

  • @boobitalicios Hi hi unfortunatly regular chocolate does not work. I havn't tried a lot of types of chocolates to make cake pops. I've found that only Candy Melts or Candy Buttons work best for cake pops. Cake pops are huge, have you tried asking your any other cake decorators in DR as I"m sure there is a solution. Or try Cake Central:) enjoy

  • Great tips!

  • I'm making these for my daughter's bday party. Can I make them the night before? How should I store them? Thanks for the tips!

  • thank you soooooooo much for the video I had problems with the candy melts now I know how to fix it !!!! thank you thank you

  • If you don't use Wilton melts you will not have to add shortening. I use Merkens. Melting chocolate 30 seconds at the most in the microwave and stir between every time.

  • you talk too much befire actually making it :)

  • What are cake pop essentialy??? Sorry for spelling, im 13 and i wanna be a pastry chef..

  • Thank you so much for this video, you saved my sons Christmas party tomorrow!! I had no idea how to get the cake to stay a ball ( lool I thought if I used the pudding cake mix it would ball up no problem) and I HATE the Wilton candy melts for this, after adding the shortening they are awesome!! I will upload a video response with pics tomorrow night! TY so so so much for this informative video beginning to end!!

  • my cousin made some for Thanksgiving i had about 6 last night lol best dessert in the world! im addicted to them now lol

  • I like your explanation :)

  • Thanks for the tutorial! And although it seems like a common sense idea...I never thought of putting my sprinkles in a bowl and sprinkling them on with a spoon! I have always sprinkled as they dried on the parchment paper and ended up with a giant mess and A TON of wasted sprinkles! This makes clean up so much easier and less sprinkles all over the kitchen counter! Thank you very much!!!

  • Great video. I'm going to try these today!!

  • I see you making melting the candy first.. will it still hold nice & smooth if i melt the candy first and then come back to it some 20-40 minutes later like you did? I'm trying to follow you step by step and that's how you did yours first. I'm just concerned the melted candy might not work as nice as you show in your video it did later. Thanks.

  • Love the way you get the melt onto the cake...very neat and consistent. Though, I'm sure you just make it look easy :P. Great vid, please make more!

  • I'm grateful for the shortening cake. Your instructions are thorough. Thank you.

  • Wow, your video is the easiest and the most informative one! You are such a great teacher:) Thank you so much!! I'll make these for many different occasions...

  • I have been having such a terrible time trying to make these and your video is the first I have seen on Youtube to REALLY help. The shortening idea is brilliant. The candy melts were just too thick. You can imagine how frustrated I have been. Oh and you showed the consistency of how the cake should be in order to form the balls better! Thank you. I just finished a bad batch (my 3rd attempt so far) and I know with your help the next batch will be perfect! Again, Thank You!!!

  • I made the pops this morning and they are “Beautiful”! I agree with 160, you’re a great teacher-thank you.

  • u are such a good teacher......i wish u will give me class...hahahaha =)....good video

  • Love these! Just curious to see if you had ever made them using any other cake mixes (chocolate, strawberry, etc.) and if so, would you still use the cream cheese frosting? Thanks so much for the awesome tutorial!

  • this was super helpful! i love that you included every step. totally gonna do this for my next party

  • @brandilyon that awesome! we're so happy!

  • just added to my favorites! this is awesome!

  • I just watched a few cake pop videos on here and I'd have to say that this was the best! Excellent job! Can't wait to try and make these, they look so fun, especially for the kids. :)

  • @mamacarebear75 THANK YOU! we're so glad you found it helpful! :) have a great cake pop time!

  • can you use vegetable oil instead of shortening?

  • @sakorarox07 hi there, for cake pops, its best to use vegetable shortening only. the oil might be too liquid-y :)

  • do u freeze em in the end?

  • @lovelysister hey! no we dont, its just in the fridge :)

  • thanks for the informative video! my first attempt was a complete failure b/c i think i put too much icing in them, and then made them too big. B/c after i put the chocolate on them, the lollipop stick went right thru the cake....But i am going to try it again!!

    thanks

  • @michylaurenp it's ok, its fun to keep trying! maybe try keeping it in the fridge a little longer, so the cake pop holds its shape.

  • This has been the Best Turtorial that I have seen. Thanks alot for Sharing and your time =]

  • @marsuzzette thank you.. really happy to share!

  • Thanks so much! Great video!

  • @Niecoleb @easycooking1 thanks so much! :)

  • awesom video

  • How much does the shortening alter the taste of the icing? Very beautiful pops btw! Can't wait for your answer so I can start making pops and cupcake pops!

  • @rachelsmimi04 It doesnt really alter the taste, but its sure gives it that beautiful shine! just add a little at a time so you dont add too much or too little. Have fun!

  • You made this look so simple and delicious, can't wait to try it. What is the blog to learn how to make the cream cheese frosting?

  • @marijo1013 HI! its on our blog. search recipes (i cant seem to post the link here.. strange!)

  • Great 1st attempt. Really liked that you kept it informative, didn't waffle (loved the speeded up section!) and you sounded really enthusiastic. Hope you do some more! Am going to try the recipe. Greetings from the Isle of Man.

  • YAY!!! its great fun!

  • wow im going to try this. Thank you for the video!
