  • music is Lux Aeterna

  • please can somebody let us know which the music in the background is called? :)

  • @xfleursterre The music in the background is Requiem for a Dream :)

  • What's the music called in the background? I'm interested to know :)

  • "How sweet and fitting it is to die for your country...."

Or is it. Are we, the youth, the pawns in this? Told truth cloaked in lies to sacrifice for a cause even greater or more futile then dreamed? A surge of patriotism engulfs us, influences us to fight without question. Yet in the end we discover the horrible reality. The rook is led out first, he dies. For naught.

  • @louisb9620 WRONG. He is showing how corrupt and decieving the government is. He is merely using the horrors of war to get his point across. FYI, the government is still just as corrupt as it was during WW1.

  • What's the name of the song in the background?

  • One word...AWESOME!!!

  • @ZentifiedHD How very eloquent of you, I must bow to your superior insight in to the English language and its usage.

  • we watched this in my english lesson and the whole class went silent with shock :/

  • Name of the song?

  • I remember learning more about Wilfred Owen and Jessie Pope. I was pretty disgusted in seeing someon (Jessie Pope) who has never been in a war trying to encourage people to go it, and when I saw that Wilfred Owen had previously written "To Jessie Pope" in his original transcript of this poem, my heart shot up.

I only wish he had sent it to her.

  • What's the background music in this video

  • @Bdunn199 The song is referred by two names, requiem for a dream and requiem for a tower.

  • @Bdunn199 Requiem for a Dream

  • im studying this in english literature, so far this poem has the biggest impact on me, a fair say, this poem is one of the best from WW1

  • I've known this poem by heart for so long. I just love it.

  • wats this dramatic song called

  • Comment removed

  • Is there some way to get a hold of this audio? That would be awesome thanks.

  • we watched this in english class and half the class were laughing. i think that is really horrible and dishonerable. i knoe this is not real people, but real people got killed and fought in the war. if anything this made me want to cry. people should be more considerate and think about things more.

  • @iluvtigers5 We watched it too in english it made me cry :'(

  • @iluvtigers5 we also watched it, though i respect the seriousness of the poem, this video was pretty funny.

  • Whats the music being played in the background called?like the title of the piece?

  • Why would you shoot him, put him out of his misery, fuck.

    R.I.P.

  • Odd pronunciation of "Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori" - as if it were being read by a computer...

  • @ragraham1991 i think the dispassionate voice adds a certain flavour to the words though :D

  • @akalinemax "Sweet and.... fitting is it..... to die for one's country" the rhythm seems odd to me, that's all

  • dulce et decorum est pro patria mori

  • Wrote a paper on this powerful poem several years ago. A great, classic work. Well done.

  • some russian song

  • Comment removed

  • @robdeledge the song is called requiem for a dream :)

  • effects to loud. simple. otherwise, really good.

  • effects to loud. simple. otherwise, really good.

  • Video game or Poem? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... Hard to tell.

Good effort, I applaud you. But, please, tone down the special effects and explosions and music, so we hear the actual POEM. That IS the point of this video, right? To try to understand the poem?

    Thanks!

  • we was watching this in english i LOL when the bomb blew of and the dude flew up in the air XD

  • Great video.

  • fuck this

  • what is this song called

  • where was the blood?!

  • This was cruelly beautiful...thank you for uploading.

  • this amination is funny xD LOL at how they raise their hands up and die XD!

  • Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream Remix IS THE SONG

  • Please tell us the song morris I've lost count of the number of people asking.

P.s I've been looking for the song name for AAAAAAAAAAAAAGES

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG PLZZZZ, I NEED IT FOR A DRAMA PIECE PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • @cleverfeller i had to do a comparison about this poem with Herbet Reads poem Bombing Casualties for Uni a couple of years ago..ive actually just stumbled upon this & to be fair its very good.. Wilfred Owens poem to me is one of the most profound war poems ive read & i have read a few...I like Morrismovies reply to your intellectually challenged response i must say.. can you string words together without profanities? If you wish to criticise anything do it politely & if you can do better do so.

  • song name?

  • the five nines are meant to be outstripped so they behind and the soldiers are out of range

  • I'm doing it for GCSE english too! (: and it has really helped me understand the poem a way lot more. Thanks! (:

  • outstanding. i'm doing a WWI poetry unit for english lit and this really brought owen's poem to life. i was able to appreciate it more and visualize what he must've been seeing - and the impact of the last few lines was even more powerful (and ironic). thanks for this!

  • who did you make this

    my favorite poem revitalised

  • The old lie: It is a glorious and wonderful thing to die for your country

  • I wish you'd done more of Owens poems, it would really help me with my english lit revision lol

    great stuff

  • This was brilliant. I used it to engage my Year 9 mixed ability English class to engage them with the language. It really helped.

Morrismovies, well said. Could you make one for Who's for the game? My group are comparing the language used in each poem and your animation helped them visualise it.

  • Incredible. Made me cry.

  • nononononono. THE SONG IS ALL WRONG

  • @StuartTheLPnoob what is the name of the song

  • Comment removed

  • song at 0:56?

  • LAWL video.

  • what is the song that plays before it goes "gas, gas quick boys"

  • I love this poem, our teacher showed this to us before we began our in depth look.

  • Good video. We have been studing this poem in English class and our teacher showed us this video when we started the topic. Made the class silent thats for sure.

  • Thanks for the work. I for one have had enough of war for all my lives to come.

  • Check our musicalized version of the poem!

  • I first found out about this poem from English, many people in my class just sat there and listened because they had to…

This poem has some strong meanings and shows how tragic war really is, I find it even worse seen as I am doing it In history class and know In greater detail what happened.

    I love this poem.

    5 Stars

  • This poem really has a strength to it- only empowered by the speaker's talent, you truly feel the terrible atrocity that those soldiers are facing. Ever swirling, whirling into deeper levels of the hell called war.

The Latin really hits it home.

Thank you AP English teacher for teaching this to my class. Truly view-changing.

  • whats this song called?

  • @xSpLaShKx Requiem for a Dream.

  • I uploaded a song version of this poem mixed in with a piano ballad... I hope you guys check out it! Dulce et Decorum Est is the title name....

  • I think this is good, but I can't get past that the gas is meant to be green. We are told this by the simile in the poem "as under a green sea".

  • This video is amazing! Really explains the poem!! Lovee it! :)

  • wow...there are no words to describe this..so i'll leave it as it is..wowx

  • Watching this made writing about this poem for school much more enjoyable. The video beautifully displays the irony and true image of the poem. Great sound effects and voice too!

  • may those solders that faught for our freedom rest in peace;

    least we forget.

  • @heath78039 I think the really sad thing about the Great War is that no they didnt fight for our freedom, just for rather petty international rivalries which got out of control and that applies to German, British, Belgian, Russian, Austrian, Italian, ANZAC, Irish, Indian and American soldiers of the war. Th only nation that really fought for it's freedom was Serbia, and it didnt exactly turn out well in the longterm.

  • @heath78039 The soldiers in WWI didn't die for any cause. That is the theme of the poem. All lives on both sides were wasted.

  • i did this poem at school and as somone who has a huge intrest in ww1 it is intresting to see wilfred owens imagery in action in this movie.

i love it when he targets jessie popes whos for a game in one of the last verses calling her his friend.

  • Though I'm a pacifist, a confession forces me

to admit that this post is an astoundingly

beautiful homage to one of the most

    hard-truth-telling poems ever written. Thank

you so much for the experience, Morrismovies.

  • Any chance of including subtitles to this youtube clip?

  • what did u use to make the animation?

  • Brilliant. I'm studying the poem at school and this film fits it perfectly

    Great work

  • This is wonderful. I was near to tears but the AE Housman at the end... I've embedded it into the War Poems page on cyderspace . net. I hope that's OK. The voice of the soldier reading this is perfect. The slight differences in what he says to the actual text make it more poignant better... a poor Tommy wouldn't have read it exactly correctly.

  • wats the background music called?

  • @runescapelordvin It's Requiem for a Dream from Lord of the Rings

  • The bombs are too loud. What the fuck is the point of putting a poem to animation if you can't hear the fucking words you fucking fool.

  • @cleverfeller I don't usually reply to comments, (I like other people to do the talking) but I just had to reply to this one. Firstly everyone is allowed to have an opinion that is the whole point of the comments section. However, you can tell that this person reads a lot of poems. You can just tell by how beautifully and articulately he makes his point! You have to have pity on the verbally challenged.

  • @Morrismovies hey, atleast he used some alliteration right! ;)

  • @Morrismovies

    Hi,

My nine year-old son came home from school yesterday with a copy of the poem and the task of illustrating what it made him think of. I searched Youtube and found your video and we watched it. I appreciate swearing is part of the English language, having its place in literature, but it’s inappropriate for nine year-olds. Have you considered removing it, if you do, it’ll be acceptable for young kids at thousands of schools?

  • @redpresentations 9 year olds shouldnt be on youtube anyway and i didnt hear any swearing

  • @redpresentations What are you talking about? I didn't hear any swearing......-_-

  • @redpresentations WTF???? I didint hear any swearing and no one gives a shit about ur son and no need to go on a fucking Essay about crap that no one cares!!!!!! Dont Remove just because some faggot thinks that it should be removed because thats is BAD words that isnt even in the FUCKING poem!!!!!!!!!! WoW LoL

  • @ZentifiedHD Can you speak without swearing?Excellent poem.

  • @cunningsophie WTF?? WoW. fuck off mate!

  • @ZentifiedHD That's no way to talk to a lady. Do they not teach you manners on your itsy bitsy bubsy X-boxs? Getting a life and learning some manners would do you good. I feel sorry for you guys who waste your lives away in front of a screen...........

  • @Morrismovies well i thought you did an excellent job. It really made me understand what war is really like

  • @cleverfeller i think it an awesome video

  • @cleverfeller You make a good point which was ironically hidden by the obscenities - which is a shame because it really is a very good point made by your first five words, so at least I can vouch for you not being aurally challenged

  • @cleverfeller some of us know the words, it worth memorisng if you've not done so

  • Is this made in The Movies, by any chance?

  • @smunn02 Yes you are correct :-)

  • @Morrismovies Adore that game. Absolutely love it.

  • @smunn02 no numnuts, they have not made a movie for a fucking poem in fucking years

  • If I may ask, what is this made with?

  • what did you use to make the video (as in the people and that)? i suspect sims 3...

  • does anyone kno what does " men marched asleep, many has lost their boots"? wats the deep meaning inside?

  • @karenbee1996 "men marched asleep" means they are so tired they are asleep to the outside world, and can only think of moving away from it all.

"many had lost their boots" explains how thick the mud was (waist high in some places). thts about it i think

  • @MrSpeedysam60 thanks =]

  • Great dramatic reading

  • DOES anyone know what the really powerful music is that starts at about 1:00 and continues through the cartoon is i would really like to know. We watched this cartoon in history and now we have to write a essay on ww1

    but it's still good

Did you use The Movies (PC game)? because if you did I have that game it awesome

  • Nice video, but that Requiem for a Dream song is so overused these days I'm sick of it.

  • Dulce et decorum est what a lie, :(

  • This was really good. It brought the poem to life, and it has opened my eyes more than my english teacher ever could. It's interesting to see it from this angle...

  • Our English Teacher Keeps Showing Us This lol

  • this my homework

  • When this video started, I thought by the way it was presented, it would be gay, but you actually impressed me with how good it was, so well done and thanks for making it!

  • what is the song playing in the back ground called

  • Song is from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack. Composed by Clint Mansell, I think it was Mozart at its earliest stage. It was used in the movie of the same name, as well as in parts of the Lord of The Rings movies. Also the odd Sky Sports advert.

  • thanks

  • me too, because WWI was the crulest war of all the wars that have happend in Europe and america.

  • you're sensationalising war not showing its brutality and futility.

  • Its mostly?? the young that are killed

    Nothing but bullet fodder BUT...

Whats the answere..? Its been going on 4 centuries..

People dont change 4 the better......

  • They were young men - artists.poets engineers skilled men, etc,,,,,,,,,breaks your heart

  • World war one was supposed to be the war to end all wars, but it started WWII too because of that darn treaty at versailles.

Started the the entire axis trio.

  • I Love The Way You Bought This Alive!

  • I like the way you tried to bring to life Wilfred Owens poem, but I don't think you matched it accurately with the poem.

  • this is sad...

  • feel sorry, extremly sorry 4 all thosse lost, but if theyy had'nt we wouldnt b livin lik we r 2dayy, Thx 2 all and R.I.P

  • what song is this?

  • y aint it a good thing to die for your country....?

  • i think that it is a faithful and couragous thing to do: to die for your country, but this poem was based on WW1, and there was millions of young soldiers that were decieved into thinking that war was 'glamourous'. they did not know what horror and pain they had to go through, so why would you want to die for a country that decieved you to be part of mass suicide?

  • he's saying it's a lie when people say it is a sweet thing to die for your country, and once you see people die like dogs for no good reason you won't repeat that lie anymore.

  • because it is a complete loss of life. the government only say it so you will recruit.

  • Hey! my mum just told me my great great great grandad died in ww1! his name was Frederick Parslow.

  • Lol, We saw your coment in class... You naughty girl x :)
