  • gives me chills! What a story the Marshall story is! WE ARE...MARSHALL!!!

  • what a shitty place to play a video clip

  • my highschool football coach was in this movie!!! hes huge...steve devoursney!!!

  • 1:37 That is me on the right with the blonde hair and red tie in the second row. Awesome movie, but I am biased! Go Herd!

  • That's really cool man! I wish I appeared in the scene I was in. I was an extra too.

  • You liar!!!! LOL i don't believe you

  • Wow. that is just awesome.

  • Why-am-I-a-idiot???

  • Who said you were?

  • is this from a movie theater your getting this from? If so it is so illegal. It is OK not the fist time I have seen it done. Can someone please please please please please put the whole movie up? Such a wonderful movie.

  • You obviously didn't read the video info. I stated that this video was shown during halftime of a football game, meaning it was shown on a big screen TV AT A FOOTBALL GAME.

  • and did you not see the scoreboard at the beginning?

  • Did you not happen to read the part of the scoreboard where it says "Marshall" with the number "9" under it and the football lit up next to it indictating they have posession of the football?

  • idiot

  • Thanks guys for not ragging me and calling me a baby.

  • I'm a man, yet I think it is wimpy to cry but, I have studied the marshall football team and I got see with my heart just where they'd been. Yes, by the way I am crying like a baby.

  • it's not wimpy to cry dude

  • nah bro im a varsity FB player i cried

  • i play JV in my high school

  • Rob, when are you guys going to learn there isn't anything wrong with expressing sincere emotion? There would be something wrong if they didn't tear up or cry about something sad. This Marshall tragedy is as sad as it gets. It also shows the human spirit and what we're capable of when we really want something. This town fought and got back it's football team. I don't know why things like this happen, it's part of life. We as survivors have to get through it and Marshall did it in style.

  • This scene is AMAZING!!! If you ever have a bad day you should watch this scene!! This gives me the motivation I need to succeed!!!

  • i cry @ this scene everytime

  • This is one of my favorite scenes-maybe my favorite. There's 3- The opening, when they go to Morganhole (I'm sorry-Morgantown)and Bowden has put the green crosses on WVU's helmets and this one. Say what you will about Bowden, but not now, not then - would many coaches do what he did. He'll be endeared to my heart forever.

  • One of the most inspirational speeches of recent memory!!!

  • OMG!!!! That was amazing. I am almost crying right now. Who knew someone couls say something that deep like that.

  • kaayyyy. holy crap. i need to see this movie

ive played sports for my whole life and

never heard anything like that. pretty much

    crying. wow.

  • if you are not moved by that speech you are inhuman.

i've seen the movie 5 times and i'm moved to tears everytime that speech comes on.

    thanks for posting it.

  • This is such a moving speech, you have to be made of stone to not feel remorse over this. The heart and pride of Marshall astounds me, I've seen few universities with the passion the Thundering Herd have. Much respect to Marshall, you are truly inspiring.

And as a Jets fan, I thank you for Chad Pennington as well.:)

  • this speech kinda brought a tear 2 my eye...i think 1 of the best inspirational speeches in any movie...hell of a job

  • idk man that was good, but this hits you on a greater level, this is life and death, a real emotional level imo..race is tough also..but i think when ur dealing with this kinda story, this 1 wins...

  • I LOVE the Titans, but have to disagree.

  • my uncle james patterson died in the crash i never got to meet him but my moms getting there hometown high schools football field dedicated to him in the spring

  • i cant decide if i like we are marhsall or remember the titans better

  • please stop posting about the marshall/wvu rivalry. that kind of stuff doesn't need to be posted here. this is about the rebuilding of the MU team after a horrible tragedy. it's not about who's better. it's about those that lost their lives and honoring them.

  • kinda wish they woulda won more games than 2 after rebuilding their team.

  • 8 conference titles, 5 bowl wins and 2 I-AA national championships - I would say they more than made up for a bad 1971 season

  • Not to mention the greatest comeback and highest scoring bowl game in football history.

  • i saw this movie in german

    and this film rocks

  • a great movie im telling you!

  • i mean when the actual game was being played. not the movie. but at the real game.

  • University of Central Florida

  • thnx

  • who was marshall playing when this video was shot?

  • this was truly an inspiring movie

  • was this shot at the actual marshall field? dude, this movie kicked ass. i was so glad they won that game. WE ARE.... MARSHALL! I am a georgia bulldog fan first, but i luv marshall. soon, they're going to the national championship again.

  • The movie clip you see was played on the big screen at the present day Marshall University football stadium.

  • whats with the argument? this movie wasnt intended to create chauvinists. i belive the message MacG wanted to convey was that we can overcome hardships and challenge even if it takes unheard-of means. rivals united to overcome a tragic accident, why cant we?

  • I love Marshall and WVU because they are from my home state. I don't take sides. And I really support and honor, in such a tragedy they were able to over come. So you people who ditch Marshall. Don't bother to comment. Its your opinion. If you don't understand how strong willed they were and are... then you are VERY weak.

  • I hate to tell you guys but this is NOT bootleg. That is when you copy something straight from the DVD without permission. Lay off. We shouldn't fight in this thread.

  • oh and BTW marshall fans i know its been four years since you guys spolied our (kstate) national championship hopes, but i wanted to congradulate you guys again...i dont think marshall would have won if it wasnt for Roberson being injured, but it still takes a lot of balls to come into one of the toughest stadiums (at the time) in the nation and push us a round...doesnt happen often, you guys diserve the best and i hope your program grows back to what it used to be in the 90's and early 2000's.

  • feeldasteel imagine if ure son was on that plane put ureself in there shoes even the mountaineers had a cross on thier helment u cant even imagine how u woulda felt alrite jeez

  • Awesome scene in the movie!

  • I could tell right away that it was something being shown at a Marshall game...Nothing wrong with that.Best movie of all time...Were you Marshall students cheering a lot during this preview???

  • bootlegg

  • SaleGuy...AmeriKenny is right heck i recorded it on my digital camera, anyone was free that night to record it and put it up on youtube, it was at halftime of the mu/ucf game

  • This is bootlegging at its worse!

  • How is it bootlegging? I recorded something I saw at a football game halftime show.

  • how is this bootleg?

  • Ahhh, the jealousy of WVU astounds me! Have you seen their latest bumper sticker? "We Are... The University" ?? I laugh everytime I see it...

  • Dude, football is a game and this was a tragedy. What would you be doing if it happened to WVU? I was born and bred a 'eers fan, but you are a disgrace and make me embarassed to be associated with the team and school. Grow up.

  • I dont care who your a fan of, kiss my ass you pansy, what i said was the truth and if you dont know that you should check into it. i guess you must be one of the mounty fans i see sitting on their hands during the game. piss off

  • u have no clue what your talking about...ur just a pussy that wants to talk shit because u cant do it in real life...by the way wvu will get fucked up when they play lsu or usc..piss off

  • My god your a dick head...im not even going to pretend to know what those ppl had to go through when that happened...i dont give a rats ass if what you said is right about the national championship...you just basically said your glad these people lost there lives...oh and WVU is so fucking overrated...im a kstate fan so i already want a crack at you rednecks.

  • tell me where you read that i was glad they lost their lives? Im a dickhead for telling the truth? I just stated the fact that they were flying on a rinky dink airline. of course i didnt want them to die, but they did, and thats not gonna change the fact that i dislike marshall, oh yeah and wvu would wipe their asses with k state!

  • Since I'm a commercial pilot I would like to see your facts on why Southern Airways is a "rinky dink" airline.

  • i drive a car, but that dont make a yugo anymore of a piece of shit.

  • That was the "facts" I was waiting on. Before you badmouth a group of people, I would hope next time you would have facts. At the time of the accident, this was Southern's first fatal crash in a little over 20 years of service. If that is rinky dink, I guess Delta, USAir, American, etc are all rinky dink.

It takes more skill and knowledge to fly and build airplanes then to drive and build automobiles. So your analogy is as bad as your "facts" on aviation.

  • Badmouthing the airline isn't needed. It was a different time, with different rules and regulations. From what I understand the airline had little experience flying into that airport- and then under those conditions...

  • what's gonna be really sweet is when marshall beats WVU next year.

  • you cannot be serious!you and i both know thats not gonna happen, its just a simple fact, MU is not in the same league as WVU, not in any aspect.

  • well duh. that's why i say, when marshall beats them, it's gonna be sweet.

  • ok, I see that your blinded by team pride, and i commend that, but get real!

  • well, we'll see who's getting real next year.

  • next year......

  • I might not have gone or know anyone who went to Marshall Univ., but from seeing the trailer and the previews--I cannot wait to see the movie and hear about what the university and the town went thru on that dreadful day in school history.

  • My family moved to Huntington in 1971, the year after. I was only eight then, and didn't learn about the plane crash until later. I'll be at the movie, you bet. (On a lighter note, I recall over the three years I was there, that no matter how much the Marshall team struggled, they still managed to beat Kent State every year.)

  • This movie has the potential to be football's answer to "Field of Dreams". It looks very well done and very respectful to the tragedy that happened in Huntington thirty-six years ago.

  • I am a 1965 Marshall graduate. Thank you for sharing this video. This has the potential of being an incredible movie.

  • Thanks for adding this video

I was at the game and got chills while this played..I truly believe the 1970 team was looking down on Marshall that night and approved of what they saw. I don't think that there will be a dry eye in the theater by the end of the movie. I can't wait till December 22!!!

    WE ARE...MARSHALL!!

  • Thank you. My mom was a Marshall student when the plane crash happened. She went to the filming to be an extra, then contracted a mysterious illness and died a few days later. I would have have loved to be at this game to see this.
