  • dont be fooled belfast is SHIT

  • are there any Neely's in Belfast?? Protestant or Catholic?? My great grandfather was from Antrim county and I am interested in my heritage...... any Native Irish out there

who could point me in the right direction.... contact me at anthrogeek49@gmail.com

  • Bring on the collapse of the nation state

  • LISTEN anyone with a foreign accent will find the majority of N.irish a very hospitable lot, prod or taig, both sides will demonstrate hospitality. Aside from this there are ignorant piss ants in both sides of the community. Any who say Huns are bad, fenians are good or vice virsa, is full of mad dogs crap. If you wish to visit N.Ireland go ahead and have a wonderful visit. Just bring rain gear and a good sense of humour.

  • Belfast is class.. shame about the arse holes...

    Darina O'Neill

  • How about a little credit for the first song - it's not the Cranberries its Mic Christopher "Heyday". See his other songs from the album "Skylarkin'" on youtube.

  • who sings or what it the name off that song that starts on 3 minutes 45 seconds ??? does anybody know ???

  • ..."Clock Tower"? Say what? It's the Albert Clock!

Or the Albert Memorial Clock if you're pedantic. At lease get our major site names right! It's important for tourism especially, considering Belfast was nicknamed Victoria's city - Queen Victoria granted the town city status; nearly every feckin' street or area is named after Victoria, or indeed, Prince Albert (hence the clock!)

  • Belfast is Protestant and always will be.

    No Surrender

  • @ferryden1 fuck off this page you sectarian scum

  • @irishmckiddo

    Remember The Boyne.

  • Is it safe for International students. I am from India and I will go there to study in the University of Ulster. :) :D Not to forget I am brown. So how do people interact with other races. ;)

  • @fidodido411 It's fine. The dangers are exaggerated, and racism isn't really an issue, at least not in city centre. Stay away from Loyalist areas.

  • @kinc1967 Thanks for your reply. I hope it will be a wonderful experience without much trouble. I will keep that in my mind. Loyalist ? I still need to study about Northern Ireland so that I do not get into much trouble. Any further information from your part will be vital. :)

    Thanks

    Have a nice day.

  • @fidodido411 You will be fine mate as long as you stay well clear of Republican areas, you will be welcomed with open arms in Protestant, Unionist, Loyalist areas of British Northern Ireland.

  • @ferryden1 Thanks mate. A few days back some one told me on Youtube to stay out of Loyalist area but you said the opposite of it my friend. I don't want to sound rude but I I really don't understand. :) Can you shed more light on this thing. What are the troubles in these areas and why is it not safe to go to these areas ?

  • @fidodido411 depends on your background. If you are not white and protestant then stay away from the Loyalist areas.

If you are any colour or any religion or none then you should be ok anywhere in the Republican areas, provided you don't try and steal their land like the brits did.

  • @mrdrawde I'm White, Catholic American. Would I be safe going to The Shankill? I wouldnt reveal my religion but some say Americans are all suspect in that area.

  • @tradercris My comment was a bit tongue in cheek but there are certainly a lot more minorities living in republican areas. The loyalist areas are connected to the far right, combat 18, national front, BNP and these do not like foreigners, black, brown, European etc.

The Republicans are associated with the far left and are socialist leaning. I certainly wouldn't make a point of telling anyone what your particular beliefs are in the north of Ireland! If asked, just say you don't have any beliefs!

  • @mrdrawde A few years ago a saw some poor black fellow from Sierra Leone got beat-up and lost an eye by a bunch of thugs somewhere in The Greater Shankill neighborhood. Also an American reporter went there looking for the Rex Pub and a local told him where it was but said look, anyone ask, you didnt get it from me. Pretty hostile to outsiders but I'd still like to see such an infamous place.

  • Ireland is Ireland not British

  • @El1teSniper00 ireland is now the property of the eu/imf not ireland. Ulster is still british! Bet ireland wished it stayed with the punt now.lol

  • @El1teSniper00 Ulster is Ulster, not Ireland.

  • Northern Ireland's power sharing Government have been disaster, 10 years ago there were 28 segregating walls & now there are 90 segregating walls. Kids who never done a day's work in there lives are running riots in Ulster. Arshad Khan will smash so called peace walls with tanks within 1 hour. click Justice party UK.

  • I've been to Belfast for only a day last summer (visiting "Belsonic") but fell in love with the city and with the people I met in the streets. Wish I could find time and money soon to return to see more of Northern Ireland.

  • I love Protestant Belfast.

    No Surrender 1690

  • @ferryden1Just glad the world looks at you and vomits..idiot

  • @ferryden1 fuck you

  • i wish i could have frinds in belfast.

  • Stop your crazy violence, none of you are getting any younger, are you going to leave the war to next generation to solve. Do you want to join Republic of Ireland, which is bankrupt. today's children's & there children's will be paying Irish debt of 700 billion pounds. 25,000 Irish are immigrating each month because Ireland have gone down the toilet. click Justice party UK.

  • @justicepartyuk What are you talking about "crazy violence"? That stopped over a decade ago, yeah sure there is some tension but you're still putting yourself in more danger walking around a dodgy area in any English city rather than in Belfast.

  • ardoyne scum

  • wtf is everones problem, your all idiots.

  • wtf is everones problem, your all idiots.

  • @Jimboid1988NI please learn basic English before you make comments.

  • @oisinparis you pick my comment to take the piss out of, despite all the shit below it, real pro, try and get your grammar nazi kick on FB trolling your friends ... oh wait

  • There will only be peace if theres a united ireland, yeah i don't think so a million people would not be to happy for starters, people who work for government jobs and banks, teachers, police, firemen everyone in the NHS doctors, nurses etc ... people have to lose their jobs and lively hood leave the United Kingdom for a country thats famous for having its hand out every chance it gets just so you can call yourself irish, i don't think so.

  • @msbeth20 stop talking to your arse

  • what is a first song ?

  • @siwulinka Mic Christopher's Heyday.

  • This actually makes Belfast look like a nice place to visit.

I live there and trust me, its not all that great!

  • TAL !

  • @wsnbmbnbb,

It will be war until the Catholic population learn to accept our Protestant neighbours

We cant continue this slaughter, Protestants are our countrymen for god sake, why have we spent 400 years slaughtering them.

  • we have beautiful culture be it red/white/blue or green/white/gold god bless the emreld isle and the uk

  • Nice Video!!! Doesn't gloss over the past. Regarding "Belfast is crap" comment from wsnbmbnbb, the place is by no means perfect with deep divisions that may never be healed but it is a lot better than it was!!!.Many people of my age group, lets say over 50 plus grew up during the worst of the Troubles.Thankfully the younger generation are experiencing a more peaceful era .Long may it last even if it is imperfect!!!!

  • i was in belfast this weekend visiting the girlfriends family and it seemed pretty peaceful to me @wsnbmbnbb

  • i live in belfast..

  • @SSPoseidon846 Don't forget the UVF! NO SURRENDER!

  • @LordWellington15 are you still shouting your mouth off you fucking wanker

  • @LordWellington15 I don't think anyone could forget the UVF, if ever there was a bigger bunch of fags playing at being soldiers, all the time hoping to be caught for the ultimate gay experience in a prison, together, pumping iron, steroids and eachother.

    It's the year 2010.

    Erin Go Brach

  • @TheLargeJesus Hmmm haha that's funny! Ever heard of the battle of the Somme? Probably not cause your probably some no life who talks crap on his mom's computer all day! They only real Irish soldiers were those fighting for Ulster or that were under British Command. The only Army you Irish have now is the IRA which use pansy hit and run tactics, and who bomb buildings and kill innocent people.

  • @LordWellington15 Oh yeah of course, a lot of Irishmen died in WW1 and WW2. And the UVF never planted bombs killing innocent people, don't make me laugh, your referencing a 100 year old war before and after which the Republican movement was in full flight, with its flying columns and greatest military tactitioners and spokesmen of modern times.

  • @LordWellington15 FUCK UVF, UDA, UFF, FUCK THE QUEEN, FUCK RANGERS/LINFEILD...FUCK ALL HUNS...BRITS SHUD BURN IN HELL....IRA AND REPUBLICAN 4 LYF!!!!!

  • @darylescape you no good dirty shit cunt!!!! fuck you, fuck that cunt the pope and fuck the ira. no surrender!! we are the people!

    tiocfaidh ar la DICKHEAD

  • @darylescape FTRA ur a sad individual.

  • @FEENme1 go lick the queens arse prick

  • for whoevers searching this looking to sum to belfast its not that bad anymore people giving abuse on this just have way too much time on their time, they should to something productive instead

  • Love how you still get the hate posts on youtube. Fair enough some people probably still care. But the majority don't.

The fact that people are proud to be protestant or catholic doesn't equal that they are sectarian.

@lextab: Ulster is a rebel state? Thats not true. Ulster = 9 counties. You'e likely referring to Northern Ireland which is only the 6. Even then wouldn't state that. I know alot of protestants that would consider themselves Northern Irish - Irish - British in that order.

  • Ulster is a rebel province of Ireland. say no more, im chileans and... i dont speak english... ciao vuestra cultura me apesta.

  • why must people like yous use every and any random outlet to shove you sectarian beliefs down each others throats?

  • english ppl are full of themself, that is whay their foggy island is going down.

    will fuck you up englander

  • You claim to be majority

Well you know that it's a lie

    You're really a minority

as 4 me i can walk dwn wit a rangers top for im proud 2 b a prod and dnt even bother fightn wit me

  • Fag!

  • what this it a 1 song ?? please help me

  • brilaint video mate. belfast is one of the fastist growing citys in the world now. i think that things will look up for our delitful little country now. the murderous basterds that would try to prevent everything we have worked for will be stopped.

  • i respect your intelligent input here, i really do, instead of up the ra or fuck taigs, whichever way u may be inclined. however recently i have heard alot of people say that reunification of ireland will leave it in economic ruins, personally i cant see that type of poverty people are prophecising actually taking place.

  • I feel sick.....BLOUGH!

  • oceallaigh2003 -agreed the sooner the brits get out of here the better- ireland for the irish

  • i bet your one ugly fucker ...........i'm irish ,,,northern irish,,,i'd rather be a catholic than some islamic non bacon eatin twat

  • lol pause at 2;16 you can see virgin store..... i got barred for life from that place for stealing cds lol way back in the good days

  • richard branson says he wants his spice girls cd back well ha ha

  • Some nice areas in Belfast but still too many bigotted bastards living there and the future is looking bleak, nearly half the Belfast workforce are public sector with subsidized wages and the English can't afford to carry the tab anymore.Soon the Brits will be singing "adios amigos" and the sooner the better.

  • "the sooner the better", morally speaking i agree but practically it won't happen in the forseable future. it would be an economic disaster for this country to be let go from the UK, and with the state of the Irish economy the past year (which is miniscule compaired to the british) it isn't going to happen on any level.

  • i would need some figures to give that theory the time of day. i mean we (the north) arent going to become a bannana republic when independence arrives. we are a modern western european nation, within the E.U. the economy will be protected and after perhaps some initial instability will again flourish. that is ofcourse the most likely outcome of all this, not economic ruin.

  • but surely your not forgettin the british birthright of 54% of the 6 counties of the crown ..............we are not gonna disappear oh and lets not forget 50% of ulster catholics would vote against dublin rule i'm not makin it up face it truth hurts sometimes

  • really? i doubt that very much. how are you arriving at these numbers. are they just an estimate based on your opinion. ie invalid

  • you are a madman if u think that

  • i'm mad yeah i'm the one promising a united ireland by 2016 o sorry thats chucky mcguinness ........north down folk crave a referendum just to shut ye's up it'll never happen under my watch ...shoot te kill ............fuck yer pope and all your sex abusing clergy

  • to rite mate

  • there will only be peace in belfast when it and the rest of the north of ireland is republic with the rest of ireland. untill then the union jack is where i spit because shankill road is full of shit.

  • how could what you suggest possibly create peace. you would just have the loyalist version of the IRA created. people would be killed. swallow your pride you will not die its not poison.

  • Love Belfast, Sandy Row FTW 2:55 ...ulster fry FTW, The Crown and Robinsons...Knee cap the fucking scallys FTW - Justice. Fucking blinkers FTW to...bushmills FTW Belfast soap bar FTW the girls, the accent, the craic...fucking love you Belfast and miss you.

  • well go to dublin why dont u

  • i live in belfast its crap there will never be peace here it is a war and it is not over

  • what part of belfast do you live in. i spend most of my time in the village, ardoin etc, i dont see any sign of war. i hear of the odd drug dealer "knee capping" another drug dealer, or a group of protestant youths throwing the odd stone. but thats the extent of it. i dont mean to be rude but have you got special needs.

  • i live in the newlodge and mate im not special needs far from it can you still walk through the shankill wearing a celtic top? no u cant ur full of shit there is still segregation and people still hate each other over crap i want it to stop but it will take a hell of a lot of time to stop as its still on 12th july riots the real IRA i dont support them they are fools i support peace and an united ireland through politics not volance

  • haha the comment about special needs was just a very funny joke. i gaurantee you could walk down the shankill with a celtic shirt on and you wouldn't be any immediate danger. you may get dirty looks but realistically that would be all. of course theres segregation to an extent but for the vast majority of people that means nothing. its only a small minortiy with hate in their hearts, usually the drains of society.

  • and u serious omfg m8 u walk down the shankill with a celtic top on and ull c wat will happen or in fact come to the newlodge with a rangers top or a union jack i bet u my house u will get ur ass kicked if not by someone else i would do it for someone being that stupid

  • @wsnbmbnbb Belfast is not crap, it actually has allot going for it.Take away the sectarian bullshit and there's actually less crime in Belfast than in many other British cities and the people I think are very friendly...the potential for Belfast is up there. The people need to just forget the past and move on

I'm English and I love Belfast cant wait to go back.

  • @ManlnCognito it has nufin going for it except secterian shame i know i live here and have all my life so dont try and argue

  • @wsnbmbnbb Have you ever lived anywhere else but Belfast? If not then you really don't have anything to compare it to.

I said take away the sectarian bullshit and Belfast has far less problems than many other British cities.

  • @ManlnCognito yea i have lived in coventry but thats not the point u say secterian ? you may get your facts right my friend it is not over religion altho it is one aspect it is mainly nationialism and loyalism i myself am i republican and will continue to fight for a united ireland because every country should have the right to be free from invaders why be there ? its ireland the emerald isle the struggle goes on and the place will not settle or be at peace until a solution is found

  • @wsnbmbnbb A solution found...you've hit the nail on the head. A solution that is acceptable to everyone. You're fighting for a solution that is not acceptable to the majority of the people of N Ireland so that is not the solution.

  • @ManlnCognito then you tell me what is the solution ? there will be a united Ireland it will come if you want to be loyal to britain and the quenn why not do so in britain ?

  • @wsnbmbnbb Some would say if you want to live in an Irish republic them move to Dublin. Face facts you wont get a united Ireland unless you forcibly remove the Loyalist from N Ireland, and we both know you cant do that.

The Truth is there is no solution that is expectable to everyone. You are going to have to meet in the middle somewhere and except what you cant change. If you don't want to budge then the future for you and your children is bloodshed

  • @ManlnCognito im no hypocrite so i have to agree with you mo chara

  • @ManlnCognito a war please bring it on

  • @gkelly2009 A war with who?

  • @ManlnCognito with them loyalist planters take then back too britian were they belong they are just biggots

  • @gkelly2009 You've already tried that and got no where. Not one inch gained

    .

They will never except a united Ireland. If Britain washed it's hands of N Ireland, then the Loyalists would fight for independence. You cant impose your will on millions of people by force.

    .

Before you go inciting war you might want to think of the consequences first.

  • @ManlnCognito no your wrong we never tried it it was the loyalist who started the conflict in n ireland killing irish people in there own country its the loyalist that inciting war every time theres something they dont like so i say bring it on ireland belongs to the people off ireland north and south its in the good friday aggrement

  • @gkelly2009 It doesn't matter who started what in the past, look to the future. The blame game solves nothing.

    .

My point is you are not going to get a united Ireland unless One... you kill all the loyalist which you could never do. Two Persuade them to except a united Ireland or get them to leave N Ireland. Neither of which they will do, so your options are limited. war wont get you anywhere so you will have to bend over and except what you cant change.

  • @ManlnCognito they will have too except a united ireland and it will come its the loyalist that have too bend over the irish people dont have too bend over in our own country yes its there home too we all except that leave history in the past yes i agree

  • @gkelly2009 And what if they don't except it? Then what? How are you going to make them? Your small country is getting swamped by immigrants just like the rest of the British isles. Do you think in twenty years time anyone will give a shit?

  • @ManlnCognito well we just have too wait and see / yes i agree the immigrants but i say most off them just want too work , alot off them have gone back to there country because off the down turn / the biggest treat is musilms all over europe / thats on thing both sides in ireland will agree on put one million muslim in belfast and see what happens

  • @gkelly2009 Influx after influx of immigrants changes so much in a society. from it's politics to it's music, language, culture. Ireland is a small sparsely populated country. I'm not so sure it could absorb large immigration as well as say England with it's larger population. I honestly think future generations of Irish will look back on their own differences and think..what the fuck were we doing?

    .

Who knows you may even join together with Britain one day to face the Muslim threat

  • @gkelly2009 You are being daft, very silly indeed. War would help noone, Britain would unleas its nasty headed monster of army and Ireland would crumble underneath it. On top of that, Ireland would be economicaly destroyed was the north added to the republic. And Britain would be better of. Leave them to it, they wanted their cake now they should eat all of it no matter how stale it is

  • @ManlnCognito I heard that Belfast is now in the top ten cities to go on holiday to, and why not? It is a beautiful city with a lot of history, wonderful architecture, friendly people, great food, and perfect beer!

  • @Chattee41 Belfast and indeed many other parts of N Ireland have allot going for them. It has a unique charm about it. I've travelled all over the country on my own and been made welcome in 99% of the places I visited.

  • @wsnbmbnbb I agree belfast is a hell hole but truth be told one day there will be peace i use to riot a lot and hated catholics but now a days most of my friends are catholics infact most of my protestant friends have catholic friends so I've seen a lot of improvement but there will always be the stubborn ones that dont want peace for the future children of belfast but yet again we will prevail maybe not today but in the future

  • hmm nice atempt to make belfast look good = P

  • i love Belfast

  • i live in belfast its a gr8 place to live

  • same Glengormley

  • belfast is beautiful
