  • Great job on the vid! Gots to luv dem yoopers, oh yah! Esky is great town to visit!!!

  • I was born in Ontonagon in the western UP and grew up on what had been a farmstead near Bruces Crossing. There were 6 of us kids, 3 boys and 3 of us girls, and we knew quite a bit about saunas, deer hunting, cold, pasties (we learned that pasties originated with miners from Cornwall and the Finns and others had adopted this food when they became copper and iron ore miners in the U.S.), poverty and lack of pretension. Thanks for the video--lots of fun. Lauren Waters

  • This is just a great video! Well done, funny and any Michigander or Michiganian will recognise a lot of those places!

  • I liked your video! i'm from Lansing Mi and I now go to Michigan Tech, and I thought this was a really sweet video!

  • I moved from the LP to the UP a couple of years ago and have traveled back and forth many times since. This was entertaining to watch. XD

  • Pickles the drummer is the definitive Yooper!

  • Us Yoopers arenothin like you flat-landers! Im from Ishpeming by the way :P

  • "The bridge passes over where Lake Michigan and Lake Eerie collide." WRONG!! It's Lake Michigan and Lake HURON! Lake Eerie does not even touch Michigan....

  • (Note the apology to Lake Eerie in the description of the video.)

  • @jenchapple89 Lake Erie DOES touch Michigan, from the mouth of the Detroit River to the Ohio line. That's about 40 miles.

  • @maxinebootie

Oops! I got Lake Ontario and Eerie mixed up... Sorry about that. You're right.

  • @jenchapple89 bullshit, lake erie does touch michigan, lake ontario dosnt touch michigan, dumb fuck

  • @killerkillba Well if you'd actually READ the other comments I corrected myself a year ago. Don't call people "dumbfucks" either. Makes you look like stupid because you can't correct someone without sounding like a neanderthal :-)

  • @jenchapple89 yea i noticed after i corrected. ps i am a neanderthal

  • Great video! I just got back from Ironwood for my Xmas vacation.. Skied at Blackjack and Indianhead, ate pasties, snowshoed, climbed Copper Peak, and bar hopped in Hurley, WI.. It was an intense yooper experience!

  • hey thanks for postin tis vid... i have been ststioned in georiga for 4 years and havnt been in a real UP winter in years THANKS!

  • the pasty wasnt created for finnish miners...but rather the cornish brought the tradition from cornwall england...and thus the saying gos..."the cornish created the pasty and its the finns who perfected it" good video though : ) just had to correct the pasty bit, on a related note-contrary to some restaurants in the Yoop serving gravy with there pasty, that is a no no to a yooper!! just say no to gravy ; )

  • lol Ishpeming MI FTW

  • I live in Munising born and raised, Muldoons is right down the street and I go to Michigan Tech XD

  • Being a lifelong Yooper, I have to say dat she did a damn fine job wit dis video, eh?

  • It's a sad day when what a pastie is has to be explained...

  • I'm her instructor and the one that required the assignment! She did an incredible job and earned an A in the class! Very well done :>)

  • get over it. I'm a yooper. I was born and raised. There was nothing at all offensive about this video. She was trying to explain to people that we are just like any other American. And yes, becaues of our location, our lives and the things we do are completely different from say someone who lives in Miami Florida. I thought the video was good.

  • I take it you didn't hear that last couple of lines, where it says that yoopers are regular people living in a beautiful winter playground.

I'm not a yooper, but my family is, and I'm jealous of them.

  • i dont find it offensive at all. I'm a Yooper, my only complaint is, you didnt stop in Ironwood Michigan where I'm from. Western most city in Michigan. :-) Cool project!

  • I just moved from Ironwood to Kentucky... sure do miss it up there! Man... if you got work there, stay there... I wish I was there.

  • haha great video! I moved to Colorado 2 months ago, and It makes me miss MIchigan even more than I already did, and Im from the lower penninsula! A co-worker of mine is very intrigued by the "yooper". He asks me questions about the UP every day. Im gonna have to take him there some day!

  • Good stuff!

  • lake michigan and lake huron, erire is by ohio my friend

  • You're right - that's why the apology to Lake Huron in the video's original description. Thanks for paying attention.
