This is definitely one of the best sounding traditional bands there is! FAMU has the tradition, but this school has the sound.

Awww please... People dislike good stuff all the time. Although i must admit i have always liked BCU... to me, SU and BCU are the two top HBCUs. SU being my personal favorite. People copy music/drill from them all the time ;-) BCU was the best band at the Honda this year. Yall sounded and looked great! Everybody was picking up their feet! Yall looked like a SWAC band on the marching i was blown away. Good job. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time...

Music quality actually goes up when you play sitting on the floor like that, it forces you to use your diaphragm, which allows for better tone quality and control. Its what my school's band uses to teach diaphragm use.

@anonymousowa1 i so agree. Just like the technique we use,sit sideways in a chair and hold your feet in the air. This forces you to use more diaphragm. Always helps with your stamina and tighten your abs.

I'm a SC State grad..this show sounded better than SC State show but SC State has the crowd more hyped...

So SC State and BCU shows were my favorite...

Listening to this one and SC State makes me miss HBCU's alot....

As a former M.R.S.B member of 03' I honestly have to say that BCU was my # 1 top choice out of 4 ( others were 4. TSU, 3. JSU, 2. SCSU) in comparison to overall showmanship, intro, dance, musicianship, and technicality. Phenomenal job! Sorry ASU, although I was a member, you all just didn't quite bring it as hard this year. I give you # 5 on the list though. in all honesty, you guys did march and sounded pretty good.

This is my sixth HBOTB and this is by far the best performance by Bethune Cookman. I only wish FAMU and Bethune could have continued "The Battle" heads up again. South Carolina State and Jackson State put on great shows but they were no comparison to Bethune. Looking forward to next years show. STL to the ATL.

B-CU was on another level yesterday and that sound was immaculate in person. I was nervous that B-CU had to come after SCSU who did a great job but The Pride held their own without any props. It was a good day at the dome yesterday, one of the best Honda's in a couple of years.

@percussiongyal yea that is not something we usually do in a halftime/battle of the bands style show. We do it at the florida classic botb because for a long time both schools would feature their percussion sections before the band came out and we sometimes do it when invited to high school exhibitions, but yea thats not really our style to do one IN the acctual show, it's always a separate feature. The only hbcu that I know of to do it consistantly in just about every show is Praire View A&M.
