  • Beanies usually size up from the crown and from the very first round. The thing shown here will end up in a loose brim like the ones that you see next. I.e. not wearable. I rarely watch expertvillage videos. They rather confuse you than help you

  • hot girl! lol

  • lol shes cute...

  • were is part 1 to start the beanie?

  • Can I just say that you are absolutely adorable!

  • @sarouelala meh they pretty much all suck

  • Im finally getting the hang of it.. its taken a few times to watch and do it with her..

  • when even i try this way i always make it to small i cant doit this way how come wheni make it its always to small?

  • @monkielover You can take a card (like a playing card size) or just thick paper and wrap yarn around and around till it's really thick. Then tie a string around the top side in the middle and then the bottom side in the middle. Then tie very tightly with anothe short piece of yarn together (over the 2 ties you already made). Cut on 2 sides (at the edge of the card) and you should have a very unshapen ball. Just consider the last tie you made as the bottom and cut and shape the yarn.

  • @garciajennifer223 I just re-read that and realized I should have been more specific. When you tie the top sides (and then the bottom) I mean to go between the yarn and the card, pulling everything on top together. Then repeat for the bottom. And THEN tie both sides together (so you have a loop on each end of the bunch) after you remove the card.

  • How is this a "How to" video?

  • your pretty :)

  • Excellent tips. Greetings from Ecuador.

  • greatness!

  • Forgive me, I know what I'm about to say has nothing to do with the subject of the video, but that's a very nice ring you're wearing. ^_^

  • @Nilyentaraka And I LOVE that couch!!

  • Sorry if this is a repeat, but I thought I left a comment on another clip, now I seem to not be able to find it(duh)lol..? I have been tryin to make an oversized beanie for days now...im confused, when do u actually start subtracting stitches, immediately after you add them, or later after you have achieved the perferred length? I really appreciate your videos, it was a big help in starting to crochet...but Please HELP! :-)

  • Do you have a video on how to actually start the beanie?

  • i know right? everytime i click on a "how to make a beanie" vid from EV, it never shows actually "how" to make one, just lil tips

  • @shawho Check out Teresa (tjw1963) or Mikey (mikeyssmail) and they have excellent videos on beanies and thousands of other things.

  • Alyssa, you did a great job on these videos. However, you really need to number them step by step from beginning to end. I tore out three times until I figured out what I was doing. Watching all clips before beginning is MUST in order to avoid frustration. But these clips are by far easier to understand than the other beanie instructions!

  • That's so cute! I am def going to try to make one! ;D Thanks for sharing!
