  • This is one of my most favorite videos of Suggies! I love the part where he/she stretches out and won't let go of the toy. :P

  • so lovely :)

  • There soo cute!♥ i wish i had one..

  • D'aww! So cute!

  • can these gliders be pottie trained in any way? was wondering if they just went anywhere or have an area they tend to do their business?

  • @xxmagnumforcexx I have heard of a couple of people who supposedly "potty trained" their gliders, but most breeders/owners say no. The glider in this video is reverse potty trained, she almost ALWAYS pees on me when I first take her out. Probably marking territory, but that's just me speculating.

  • @UserNameAnonymous ok thanks a lot.

  • @UserNameAnonymous Oh and I forgot to say that she doesn't pee on anyone else, my mom or my brothers. But me, 98% of the time = pee.

  • @UserNameAnonymous i love golden showers ,do you recommend getting a glider then?

  • @AlfonsoTheGod lmao.....

  • @UserNameAnonymous thanks for the info!!

  • @xxmagnumforcexx you can potty train them. You have to stimulate them when you first wake them up and get them out of. The'll get used to peeing when you wake them up.

  • @xxmagnumforcexx use a tissue paper or a q-tip

  • I can't wait till I gets mine <3

  • Looks like a mix between a badger and a squirrel mixed with the cuteness from puppies and kittens :)

  • are they allowed in California?

  • @AlwayZash Nope. No exotic animals are allowed there. You can have hamsters, rabbits, etc. Stuff like that, but as far as Sugar gliders, monitor lizards, etc? Not legally. Though no one's stopping you from sneaking one in. ;)

  • Glider: Dude, these be my toys. Not yours. *nom nom*

  • It's like a puppy with hands lol

  • 0:28 its like help rape!

  • I've had male for year and half and he is spoiled and loved on every day. So he pretty much not lonely if u give time for 30 min with him every night. But now we got us a new female Joey. She a whiteface. For now she is being handle alot lol and won't introduce yet til they know each other scent and at time she mature )

  • rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i want one :-( soooo cute!! xxxxx

  • they see me gliden deh haten....

  • She's like noooo i love the monkey wait monkey what are you doing BETRAYAL!

  • At my old school, we did an art project about shading and made a drawing of a sugar glider

  • Is it better to get m/m or f/f pairs? I am getting a pair of sugar gliders when I move and am researching/learning about them from people who have them.

  • that sugar glider is sooo cute

  • actually they will NOT die if they are the only one by themselves (this is a common myth) but if you don't play with them much more than you might they WILL get depressed it is HIGHLY suggested you get at least 2 to start with so that you wont need to spend every second with them, but we all know if we could we would

  • @rockstr1 I only have one and my mom only has one and they are in seperate cages in two different rooms. They are perfectly happy. Mines asleep in my pocket as we speak

  • where on EARTH do you get them? i dont think u get them here in the uk, that sucks.

  • @SuperGorgous Yeah you do, but not in petshops. You can get them from breeders at £150 ish each.

  • @SuperGorgous Atleast you guys get hamsters. Australia doesn't sell them l'm soo depressed haha

  • A 300 dollar 'thing'? I paid £300 for both of my girls and they'r worth every penny. You should never buy just 1, especially because of the price. If you can't afford 300 dollars then you can't have them. Rather pay 300 for 15years worth of their company than 150 for about 4 years ... because they will die of lonliness.

  • @helen1988uk That is good advice. It makes all the difference in the world, getting at least 2. A girl friend of mine got just 1 and it didn't even last a year.. Meanwhile, our 2 sisters are happy and healthy. She didn't know any better though. Therefore, ignorance is not bliss.

  • i want a sugar glider soo badly! i did all the research and stuff. but i read that you should buy 2 of them so they can interact and stuff, but i heard they were like 150 dollars each so that'd be 300 dolars for it and my parents wont get me a 300 dollar thing that might die in 15 years :(

  • @Smiley7229 15 yrs is a long time. especially when things that small usually only live 2-5yrs. if you save up your own money you might could get 2. if they lived 15 yrs it would be like paying $20 a yr. for 2. considering how loyal they are its worth it. but if you have time to spend with it you could just get one.

  • an someone sugest a good sugar glider breeder

  • Why does everyone compair them to hamsters , they are much more complex and awesome. They need alot of time and care, you cant just throw them in a cage and feed them, I just LOVE suggies, and @hiimakoala yes they do bite if they are not tame or scared. once they are bonded to you they stick near you as a "safe zone" you cant really train them to do anything :)

  • do they bite?

    are they similar to hamsters?

  • you know what is great about youtube? You get on this website to look at the Elantra and end up here lol.

  • Does anyone know where I can get one, I'm from Nottingham in the UK, please get back to me :)

  • Thats mine dad... Let me have it... haha

  • Can you leave them to wander round a room or do they get lost like hamsters?

  • 1:32 AHHHHH GIMME MAH MOUSE!!!! lol

  • how do you train/ teach them so that they don't run away, hide and never come back?

  • I'm considering catching one of these with an Ultra Ball, but would a Great ball work as well? I've even heard of them being caught with regular Pokeballs!

  • soooooooooo cute :)

  • Dont take this .... whatever it is ..... I need it for ... SOMETHING !

  • Where are sugar gliders from and where do you get them...?

  • Hey did you buy just one or more than one? Cause im resarching them and im being told alot of diffrent things lol help?

  • @VPFrio I own one sugar glider and he's pretty amazing. Since I have so much time to devote to him, I don't have to worry about him becoming depressed due to lack of interaction and all. But if you're extremely busy and won't be able to offer the time the sugar glider needs or if you don't have time to properly bond with the sugar glider, a cage mate may be a good option.

  • @xobryttox even if you get a pair, you will need to bond with both of them initially. Otherwise they won't like to be handled and will be mean.

  • where can u get sugar gliders like as a pet???

  • @HendrixYoungthe2nd Depending on where you live will depend on whether you can purchase one from a local pet store or not. You could always check out Suncoast Sugar Gliders online - that's where I first learned about sugar gliders and did a lot of research. They can ship sugar gliders to you, if you live in the U.S. If you do decide to get one, I highly recommend the website GliderCENTRAL(dot)net. It's very helpful and there's a huge community that can help you with any questions you may have.

  • this is just too cute =)

  • AWWW Its so adorable! I want to get one but my mom doesnt like them cuz she thinks they are creepy D:

  • soooo cute!!! X3

  • Okay, so you're saying between 6 and 10 weeks is when you need to bond with them...But I just read that you shouldn't adopt them until 12 weeks MINIMUM or they won't be properly weaned... This is explicitly mentioned in the video from expertvillage "Sugar Gliders as Pets: When to Adopt a Sugar Glider". Any idea why these two statements seem to disagree with each other? Apparently it worked out for you, but as a prospective owner, I'm just trying to get the facts.

  • can i keep only one or do i have two have at least two sugar glinders? because the lady from pocket pets at the mall said that i had to keep two and they were selling them two for 500 dollars plus you get the cage and food is that a good price? how much you pay for yours?

  • hahaha she was like "this is so easy, i can do it with one arm"

then you tried to tickle her armpit hahaha.

  • awwww :)

it's little feet were holding onnn! :D

  • at 1:03 i thought he got hit

  • i saw a pair of SCISSORS!

  • I got one today! It is the greatest pet I have ever had!

  • DUDE NICE did you use a ultra or a great ball to catch that!?!?

  • 1:19 lol

  • im sorry sorry to tell u ppl but my pitbull was mad that i brought a new freind in the house which is the suger glider and my pitbull ate it crying crying ahhhhhhh sigh later i wast 6758 and same happened to my finger monkey dam doges want to have to hole house to him self

  • NOOOOOO THEY ARE MY TOYS STOP IT!!!!! AAHHHH

  • haha didnt know they played tug o war

  • this little guy reminds me so much of my glider!!! very playful!!

  • beautiful

  • Sugar gliders get the name because they eat food with natural sugar in it and can glide in the air there awesome I'm hoping I will get 2

  • why is it that there called sugar gliders?

  • Does he ever bite you?

  • @graleh no, I have bonded with mine very well. She has only bitten me a couple times if i try to take away a treat she's eating. And even then, it is only a short warning nip. She has never bitten with the intention of hurting me.

  • @UserNameAnonymous Thats nice :) How long did it take to bond with him?

  • I just got 2 baby girls. 10 wks old. Any advice on the best diet and how to tame them?

  • @q1angel I use the BML diet plan, I've heard only good things from breeders about it. It has worked very well so far, my babies are happy and healthy.

  • @UserNameAnonymous You know there are actually pellets that are much cheeper and better for your sugar glider. Before you reply do realize the same thing happened with exotic birds in the 70s, people would use unnesaseraletoy complex and expensive diets even though perfectly healthy bird food was on the market.

  • @mycaleb8 Pellets are pretty controversial when it comes to debating what's best for a sugar glider's diet. Granted I've fed my sugar glider pellets before, the BML diet is pretty amazing. It has all the vitamins and nutrients your sugar glider could ever need. Arguments say that pellets could suffice with protein and nutrients, but there are arguments that pellets cause intestinal blockage. And you don't have to worry about dehydration as much on the BML diet since it contains juicy fruits.

  • @UserNameAnonymous I have two sugar gliders and use the same diet plan. It has worked great for me so far, and I've had them for 3 years.

  • @q1angel there is a website called sun coast gliders They have a lot of glider items and info on gliders. They have some starter kits. I would recommend that you buy the calcium and vitamin powder and put a pinch of each on their fresh fruit. Put a shirt or fleece items that you have had next to you all day in the cage with them. you can also use a paper towel that you have wiped your face on and give that to them as well. They need a wheel to run on.

  • @q1angel why would you get them without first knowing their optimal diet and handling techniques? not tryin to cause an argument or pointless youtube debate, it just seems like with owning an exotic pet, you would do the proper research before having them.

  • @q1angel shouldn't you research a pet THEN get it?

  • So cute! :D

Does every glider do that once they get used to you? Or just yours.. or... You train it? lol..

I might get one so I wanna learn a lot about them. :D

  • @Animalsrule3398 If you take the time to bond with a gilder when it is between 6 and 10 weeks old, they will bond with you. Some gliders take longer to warm up to you, but if you keep at it they WILL bond. Only if the glider is too old, then it will never really bond no matter what (or so they say).

  • @UserNameAnonymous How old is too old? I recently got my first suggie and he is 1 year old. He seems to never have been handled but I have spent 6hrs/day with him since he arrived 7 days ago. I see a lot of positive progress but he still do not climb up to me by himself even though I can pick him up, cuddle and massage him and he falls asleep in my hand :)

  • @UserNameAnonymous When I got my sugar gliders.. One was 7 months and the other was a year and some odd.. I've had them for about two years now and the older one is just now bonded to me. They love the pillow pet pillows.. lol. The younger one bonds to just about anyone she meets and is around for about a week so I don't know what the deal is with that.. but for the most part they know their mom :).. its never impossible

  • @UserNameAnonymous I cared for a glider that was kept at school and she bonded with me no problem. She was a few years old at the time too. so I don't think age matters. They will bond with who ever cares for them and is around at the time. or at least she did.

  • @Animalsrule3398 If you decide you want one and still have questions, I highly recommend either talking to someone like UserNameAnonymous that has a sugar glider along with GliderCENTRAL(dot)net. The website is pretty much a forum with a community that can help you with any questions you may have.

  • hes like the monkey is mine gtfo

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • haha! i love his little wrinkles at 00:10

  • Why would you even think of that?

  • hes like nooo bitch my tigerrrr.

  • i had one of these, but they are very hard to keep, mine died simply cos i pressed a fork into its head.. not very hardy, taste not bad though.

  • can u buy 2

  • When I in the USA in 2000, we were staying in an RV park in Georgia, and when it got dark this animal noise began, like a sort of incessant chirping or cawing (not crickets though). A US guy told us it was Sugar Gliders, which we had never heard of, but he said they were a type of flying squirrel type creature. Then we moved on to another RV park in Chattanooga in Tennessee and the same noise started there when it got dark. But Sugar Gliders live in Australia. Do they live wild in the US?

  • its cute

  • Do you know where i can happen to get one is PA?

  • that rat at 0:53 is a cat toy my brother had it but guess it works good to for a glider

  • Awww cuter than a dog....!!! how much are they?!?

  • @XxZaShLeYoBsEsSeDxX 200-400 dollars for 1

  • @XxZaShLeYoBsEsSeDxX no about 100-150

  • @XxZaShLeYoBsEsSeDxX all depend s on the color and breeder. some places have standards and clack beauties for 125-150. I think that was the cheapest i ever heard of. and then WFB were 175 at that place. but like.. luecistic (all white with black eyes) were around 3000-5000, and albino (all white with red eyes) were about the same... i think the um.,.. what are they.. oh yeah platinum champagnes are a little more then those.

  • @XxZaShLeYoBsEsSeDxX The Cheapest s About $200 You May Be Able To Find Them Cheaper But Usually The Price Goes Up From There

  • omg it has toys:D

  • cute and playful little critter.

  • 7777 nice

  • Hahaha, I have that same mouse thingy toy on the string too! :D Of course my cats tore off it's poor little hands and feet. D:

  • It's very cute but it wouldn't last 5 min with my ferret around. To bad they look fun.

  • wow sugar gliders are just like dogs. I thought they'd be more like mice.

  • cute

    and just for sugarglider333:

fuckfuckfuck shit fucking shit holy fuck

    :)

  • @Perotica Erotivert ummm Please dont swear! If you dont havve something nice to say then dont say nothin at all!Thank you

  • @Irishgal333

Humans domesticated dogs from wolves and other canine species carefully over hundreds and hundreds of years you stupid fuck. ._.

They weren't "MAED BY GAWD STRICKLY 4 GARDIN MAH HAUS N' RIDIN IN MAH CAR".

    Jesusfuck lady, are you serious?

    ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS!?

    Just... wow. ._.

  • God also gave us dominion over the animals of the earth.

  • Shut up and quit imposing your naive and backward hypocritical super-Christian views on videos like this.

  • Comment removed

  • @mygunsnroses U R AN IDIOT THAT DOESN'T READ COMMENTS! stop barging in the middle of comments that you know nothing about. I'm an agnostic you IDIOT!!!!!! I HATE PEOPLE WHO JUST ASSUME SHIT AND DON'T READ THE COMMENTS. EVEN IF I WAS A CHRISTIAN THAT SHOULDN'T MATTER TO YOU. GET A LIFE! GO FUCK UR SELF WITH A VERY SHARP OBJECT.

  • Awk now, love you =)

  • makes it easier for other people to shut up.

  • Lol. You're easy to wind up aren't you? :P

  • Can these actually glide, like their name entails?

  • @gordon1201 Pick one up and throw it then you'll know the answer :D

  • mines mean and bites whata i do??

  • They are like that.

  • lol 1:30 staring contest!!

  • At the end of the day humans are the dominant species of this planet. This doesn't mean we shouldn't treat animals with respect but if we want to domesticate a certain species we can and will. Considering that the majority of young sugar gliders do not live past their first year in the wild and domesticated sugies can live for 15 years i would say given the choice most would take the cage and love it, along with the food it doesn't have to forage for and the predators it doesn't have to avoid.

  • @z3r0t0l3r4ns life should be driven by natural selection not human selection

  • @B4IRUTUARU16 lol, thats what hitler said about killing jews. we're not living in the middle ages fella :)

  • @boddahchris -_- your an idiot

  • Irishgal333: are you saying that when earth was made the caveman just popped up with dogs right by their sides?

  • they are soooo flipping cute!

  • @Irishgal333 I'm pretty sure the wilderness is crueler than the surroundings this glider is living in. he looks happy playing, he'll be well fed, warm, and not at risk from predators. why doesn't anybody say its cruel to keep dogs as pets!?

  • dogs originated from the wild too!? i'm not trying to get into an argument in any way with you, but i just think some creatures may have a better quality of life being well looked after by humans. i guess its putting the benefits of being looked after and safe, against the needs of the creature itself.

  • so...

You're saying we could solve this by looking to fully domesitcate the sugar glider? Let's start w/ systematically killing off all sugar gliders w/ undesirable traits, and line-breeding those we find extra cute, cuddly, and docile. That's how we got our current "common household pets"..

Bleeding hearts obviously don't allow for enough blood to reach the brain.

"C'mmmmonnn people".. Sugar gliders are adorable eitther way- caged warm and happy OR struggling in the wild.

  • i think we should go ahead and make a new breed of human as a slave like you suggested about the dogs.... only with humans...

    jk...

  • @boddahchris actually in australia they don't have many predators and they tend to live in colonies of up to 40-45

they are happier in the wild i believe

  • @boddahchris Dogs are way more domesticated. These things are not. They've only recently become popular. They're the type of animal that needs alot of room to jump, run and fly. I had one once too, but I'm just saying they aren't the ideal pets and just because they get a warm home and plenty of food doesn't necessarily mean it's the best for them. I'm sure if animals in a zoo could talk they would tell you they'd rather be free.

  • @SkeksisRule There is a huge difference between a zoo and a good home. And sugar gliders tell all the time they are where they want... just by constantly getting back ontop of the owner. If they wanted to be "free" as you say, why would they be one of the most affectionate/clingy pets? And its not fear, its comfort and happiness.

  • @kuelexx They cling to you and you think that proves something? Try that with one that was raised in the wild. They cling to you because you care for them and feed them, and you're all they know. It doesn't mean they wouldn't be happier free. If you had a choice of living in a cage and only coming out when someone decided vs living on your own and caring for yourself what would you choose?

  • @SkeksisRule Most sugar gliders get a lot of chances to escape their owners, especially when they are just relaxing on their chest or shoulder while out and about. Why make comments on an animal you know nothing about and would never take the time to learn about? I recommend you make friends with someone that owns one and find out for yourself if they are happy.

  • @kuelexx *sigh* You ignored my last reply and question.. I wonder why? As I said I've owned a sugar glider before and I did plenty of research before I bought it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against having pets at all. I never said a pet sugar glider isn't happy. The original point is that any animal would be better off and happier with freedom over captivity and you simply cannot refute that.

  • @SkeksisRule Actaully, a sugar glider bonds to the person -or other animal- it spends the most time with. they considerthe human owner a part of their colony. Once they are bonded they are bonded with you for life so they would be happy in the wild once bonded to you..they would get depressed becuase they arent with their "colony"

  • @boddahchris yea but most people dont know how to properly care for them :(..

  • @boddahchris Yeah, they say that they only live 6 years in the wilderness but live up to 15 years in captivity.

  • how old is your glider?

mine are about 4 months old and still really pretty sleepy and not too interested in playing..

how did you get yours to be so playful??

  • just love them and play with them when they want to. the babies are always about sleep for a while. but they tend to liven up if you just be patient with them

  • aw ok. I will keep being patient. I have only had them since october. I hold them a lot and cuddle them.. Im so afraid they are going to run away though in my apt. So im scared to let mine just walk aroudn like urs is

  • yeah, bonding is a process with them not a moment so it may take a while. and if you are nervious they can feel that so try not to be. and if you plan ahead and make sure doors and windows are closed all like open containers of water(toilet bowels bathtubs cups) are either drained put away or closed and chemicals are not around then you can just let them on the carpet, let them exercise ya know. just let them get used to ur scent.

  • What DO these little guys eat? Cuz they're so adorable! ;)

  • MY DAD SLMOST GOT ME ONE TODAY!!!

  • Dem's Good eati'n...mmmmmmmm

  • shut up lol.

  • omg so cute.

  • It's like, "No! Mine! Give Me!"

  • lol its like a mini dog XD

  • Vig I hate to say this but your an idiot who is taking the easy way out.. don't get one from craigs list.. alot of the tims those arent tamed they can be sick and alot of other things, if your smart you will gjust buy one from reputable breeder, yeha it may cost more but in the long run you will be much happier

  • Lillyae:your ignorant

  • what kind of diseases can they get?

  • Not many. Very healthy animals for the most part if you feed them the right stuff.

  • no that woman at expert village is wrong they do pee on you but not that much i have 2 meself there great pets once you give them lots of attention.

  • lol that girl says too many ums

  • um haha, yeah um she does say um a lot um, yeah.

  • ?.....

  • If you want one dont just get one because they are cute, make sure you can spent lots of time and do your research. I see too many people not doing research and giving these guys a short life.

  • everyone needs to research if you want one

  • cute

  • i want one

  • lol rory not pets? ROFLROFLROFL omg

  • i saw these expeert village videos that say sugar gliders pee on u alot is the true?

  • i dont have on
