I had this tank for a few days and it suck so much! It even started to smell bad for the dishiest I had in there! I ft bad for them since it was so dirty I return the tank and got a better one with a nice filter.
@MARTIN3Z91 If you only had it for a few days, there shouldn't have been any fish in it yet. You have to at least run the filter, etc. for several days, and it takes weeks to cycle a tank properly; this one is so small that it they would get ammonia piosoning fairly quickly. It shouldn't smell though, if it's kept clean and not overcrowded. This tank only comes w/an undergravel filter. I bought a seperate filter for the platies. I've had mine since May and it's crystal clear and smells fine.
hey man i just bought that 10 w heater how far do i put it in the tank do i put the whole thing in there ... ??? cuz i know the cord is there and is it suppose to go into the water?? i need help
@x3xWhiteout Yes, it's submersible so in can go totally under the water, and part of the cord may be in there too, depending on how deep. I have mine like an inch below water level with barely any cord in the water. Just make sure you leave some drip loop (extra length of the cord hanging down by where its plugged in, so any water that travels down the cord drips off the loop and not straight into the outlet).
I have the same tank. It's pretty cool! I have a beta 3 ghost shrimp and an algae eater! They all love the tank and the tall plants I have in the background!
I have got the same tank, my betta fish loves it! I want to add in some guppies. The first thing he did when I put him in was swin every where, and he had such a good time, from a cup, to a half gallon, to a 3 gallon :)
@XXDreynDejahXX They're platies (not guppies) but yeah, he didn't like them too much, lol. You technically CAN house bettas w/other community fish (see plenty of examples here on YT), but it depends on their personality. I tried it out for like 2 days and he just seemed annoyed so he's in his own 2-gallon AV360 now (see the video description for the whole "story" :).
@OC65 It's the Marina Submersible Mini Aquarium Heater (10w for up to 3 gallons) and it's fantastic. It keeps the water at 79° w/no adjustment. I've had it in this 3-gal tank for about 3 months now and the water has been the same temp every day (78-79) even when the air-conditioning is set pretty low (70 or 72). I don't know how well it will do in the winter when we're gone during the day and the heat's not on, so I may swap it w/my betta's 25w adjustable heater, since the heat stays on at work.
@Mushman15 It's a "Tetra Whisper (3i In-Tank Filter)" ($10) for tanks up to 3 gallons, but I read afterward that the "Tom Aquarium Products Mini Internal Filter" ($15) is much better. FYI - for a couple weeks, the water kept getting super cloudy like every 2 days after I changed it, so I thought the filter was crappy, but I think it's just bc the tank/setup was new and needed to finish cycling, bc now the water stays CRYSTAL CLEAR to the point where you almost want to drink it. (Not kidding) lol
@Mushman15 Oops, I just realized the filter is not in this video bc I didn't add it until later. So you must be talking about the mini-heater that's in there (with the red light).
@Mushman15 (1/3) Thanks!! =D I would only put 2 guppies bc my tank was too crowded (high ammonia levels) with all 3 fish in there. (I ended up taking the male betta to work in a 2-gallon. Now there's only the 2 platties in this 3-gallon one, and they couldn't be happier.) I tried adding a tiny female betta and she got ammonia burn REALLY bad (she was in there for less than 24 hrs. and when I came home from work her gills were solid red, like blood :( luckily I caught it in time, so they're ok.
(2/3) (She is now in a separate 1.5 gallon bowl w/a bamboo plant.) All of that said, *IF* you want to put 3 guppies, at least finish the nitrogen cycle first (start w/ 1 or 2 guppies) and then add the 2nd/3rd guppy much later (see: petco*com/caresheets/fish/NitrogenCycle*pdf). If you don't want to deal with any of that, then just keep 2 guppies, and they'll be fine. Danios need 10+gallons, and as school fish, they're happier w/more than 3 (6-8+ would be ideal). FYI - Don't listen to what fish >>
(3/3) it lists on the AV360 box and do your own research for what kind of environment/care they need. I made that mistake and lost 3 beautiful neon tetras bc I didn't know they were so sensitive to water conditions, and they became stressed w/out a large school. (It was partially my fault for not finishing the nitrogen cycle first, but there was no way they were gonna be happy/healthy in 3-gallons.) You might have better luck w/ur Danios if you do it right, but the risk is up to you. Good luck!
Thanks for the comment :) I think it only looks distorted in this shot/ on video. It honestly looks 100% crystal clear in person; I can't get over it and stare at it for hours, lol. (I just shot this on my phone real quick, so I plan on making a better vid in HD at some point ;) As for the shape & seeing the fish properly, I think it depends on where you place it. Mine's on the breakfast bar so I can see everything from the living room or the kitchen! (And when walking to and fro...)

Isn't the distortion annoying? I'm considering buying this but I'm thinking the shape would make it difficult to see the fish properly.
