Buddhism believes in re-carnation while Catholicism doesn't. therefore Catholicism guides people to have a better life in the physical mortal life while Buddhism treats for the spiritual life. That is simply why Jesus healed the sicks, stopped hurricanes and raised deaths, and Lord Buddha traveled through other dimensions - or worlds or hell and Heaven or what ever you may call it- and healed the spirits and made people aware of them.

Hey did you know that almost all the religions are based on peace and faith. They explain the same theory and guide to the same location but with different strategies and conceptions. if u read the history u will see it. lord buddha is not a God, he is more of a teacher, who shows us the path to enlightment.... he guides us to see the truth of everything that is around us.

@targetisdog Buddhism for some is a religion, while for others it is simply a lifestyle. In essence it is a transcendental belief system that teaches us to pursue nirvana by eliminating all negative energies - via meditation, practicing good ethics, doing good things for the world etc. of course there's much more than that, and there are books that go into depth on all the main points of it.

@targetisdog I'm a Christian. I just admire the Buddhists' way of living. How they have such a respect for all life, and maintain a strict sense of morality is both convicting and inspiring to me as one held to the high standard of the Bible. I believe Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) would have been Jesus' greatest disciple, had he lived at the time and place as him. He was dedicated in his pursuit of the truth, and it sucks that it didn't reach India until years after he had died.

The coolest thing he ever did was nearly starve himself to death and drown in a river. Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, stopped hurricanes with a word, and came back to life three days after being mutilated....oh yeah, and he's the son of GOD.
