  • could this be used to train a mind to kill? to have no remorse or feelings while doing so? I say leave the it be...

  • Is it safe? I think it is possible that some other memories are removed not only the fearful memories.

  • Now i'm not saying just anyone can use 90% brain capacity at any given time, for the fact that artistic/creatives are already getting closest to that reality. Thus proving our higher intellegence is based on emotional aplications of the brain, as we place an emotional tag to every thought. So to oppress emotional response will likely compartmentalize your mind. Star TreK??? The goal of humans is to be the Empath(enlightened), not the Vulcan(logic) Klingon(aggressor) Ferangi(Greed)

  • We can reset this switch & begin to live. We can awaken into a world of full frontal lobe capabilities. They estimate that a large portion of the brain turns on & operates at close to 90% more frequently. Most of the time humans use 10%.. We can change all of that with a simple treatment & people would expand to a new reality. A reality of tools that will allow us to reprogram by simply turning on the frontal lobe. I have already learned this, but i am infancy PTSD, so i dont know the memory

  • I found this after watching the new zietgiest. And it branched off of discovering the true source of humanities problem. The Amygdala is a part of the lizard brain instinctual response.. This is the answer for PTSD patients from infancy based trama that can reset the fight or flight response.. This is SO important that it should be free treatment for all humans. Its the only right thing to do, figuring how the entire world is sick.

  • Nice research but pretty fuckin' useless. A window of 10mins to 6hrs is bullshit. That basically means you have no fuckin window to reassociate a memory at all. Come on guys do better please!

  • Repressing fears using any method is just as dangerous and harmful as keeping an irrational fear in the long term.

A good psychotherapist would find the deep suppressed memories and feelings associated with the fear stimuli and work with associating (slowly) good memories with the stimuli/fear.

Shocking or tricking someone to supress or change a memory or fear may add functionality in the real world, but may create new psychological problems deeper within the psyche.

  • @nohophil Care to recommend a good psychotherapist that can do that? Cheers.

  • ABA FTW

  • This is a bit confusing. So, you pair a yellow square with a shock, causing a fear. Then to erase the memory, you show the yellow square without a shock once, then wait a while, and repeatedly show the yellow square without a shock again? So the only difference from other methods is that in other methods you skip showing the yellow square once, and jump right in to showing it repeatedly?

  • That's correct. It's a very subtle thing to get across, which I struggled a bit with when producing this video. The difference is literally all in the timing: simply by showing this "fear reminder" a few minutes before doing normal extinction training, the reconsolidation window is opened up which allows the fear memory to be re-written.
